I wasn’t going to write a review, as generally don’t like to complain and always like to leave positive feedback. Firstly, I would like to thank you for the meal in the restaurant, it was delicious. The gardens and grounds I have to say were stunning, clean and very well maintained. These 2 elements were the only saving grace, I can’t comment on the rooms as we didn’t stay. The spa however was not the peaceful and relaxing experience we had hoped for. Our visit was for the spa experience for £59pp, our experience was booked for 12pm, this was a gift for my mother for Mother’s Day and a birthday treat for myself. When we arrived at the spa reception, we had nobody to greet us and had to wait almost 15 minutes before we decided to go looking for somebody, as this was chewing into our 2 hour time slot. When we eventually found somebody, the lady was showing somebody else around and asked us to wait a couple of moments and then she would return. When she returned, she was very pleasant and showed us to the changing rooms and gave us instructions of the day. We wanted to enjoy the lounge and enjoy all the lovely teas and refreshments before our spa… but as we had missed 20 minutes, we didn’t get a chance to do this and headed straight for the spa. The lovely lady had told us not to reserve the heated beds, which we totally understand and then informed us that one of the beds was broken. We didn’t anticipate just how busy it would be, it was packed and noisy and towels were reserving the beds, which we were told not to do. We sat in one of the steam rooms with the crystal, this was the room I was looking forward too the most being a crystal lover. We sat in complete darkness for 10 minutes, waiting for the room to get warmer… as we wasn’t informed that this room was out of order, we assumed it would take time to warm up. It didn’t, so I pressed the button for assistance, a young girl came in to see us and couldn’t understand why it wasn’t working, she told us to wait and she would go and check with a colleague. We waited a further 5 minutes and she came to tell us that the steam room was out of order and apologised. That was another 15 minutes wasted :( we used the saunas, which worked fine and the view of the garden with the ducks was joyful to see. After the saunas we decided to go and enjoy the showers and grab some ice from the ice machine, this was also out of order!!! No ice. Before we went into the pool, we decided to try the other steam room that was apparently working…. Well, we sat there for 10 minutes along with a young couple who were also confused, as there was no heat or steam, just a very unpleasant alarm that made the couple mention that this was not relaxing and decided to get up and leave… me and mum decided to give it a chance, but 5 minutes later, the sound was still very loud and no heat. I’m assuming this steam room was also out of order. We found some room in the jacuzzi, but it was so overcrowded that we decided to get out an
