We had booked the Lia Studios with the foresight that we may be allocated to the original or newly renovated apartments. We were in the original block which we were absolutely delighted with. The room was spotlessly clean, the shower powerful as was the air-conditioning, beds changed daily and fresh towels provided every other day. We were on the ground floor and had uninterrupted views of the sea and loved sitting on our balcony each evening watching the sunset. The studios are in a perfect location, a short walk from the beaches and the town yet far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. The newly renovated apartments are amazing and they lead onto a long plunge pool which can be used by all guests. There is also a lovely area behind the renovated block with sunbeds and parasols where you can relax, so peaceful. We were so happy with our room and the unbelievable view over Pefkos. We went to Anixis taverna a few times to use their pool and for a few meals, all of which were absolutely delicious, highly recommended and run by a beautiful, welcoming family. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here and wouldn't hesitate to return.

We booked a renovated superior room with tui. We were given an old room with facilities not working. The air con randomly turns off and will not turn back on. The shower is freezing then scolding (yesterday we had no water in the shower or bathroom tap practically all day and the toilet flushed once and then stopped working). The bedroom light turned off for several hours and wouldn’t work. The fridge turns off randomly. The WiFi only works in one spot that’s on the balcony and even then is still patchy. The ‘reception’ is a shed near the accommodation and there is never anyone there (when there was someone in there they actively ignored me) and when I rang the emergency number provided in the room nobody answered and 14 hours later we still haven’t been contacted - it wasn’t an emergency but what if it had been ? That’s unacceptable. This is not what we payed for and we are extremely disappointed.

Just got back from the Lia..it comprises of 2 blocks with 10 studios in each block..as you go up the hill the first block has not been refurbed ( I presume this will be done next year ). The second block have been refurbed to a very good standard.this block has the attached swim up pool which can be used by all.the first block is ok ,clean .looked after by the cleaner every day except Sunday. It’s a bit tired but not an issue if you know your staying in this block.love the location around 10 mins stroll to the centre of Pefkos with all its bars and restaurants..great views from most rooms and it is quiet..Anixis is next door which is great for drinks and snacks with a fab pool you can use..in the evening it becomes an excellent restaurant with great food ,great service, great ambiance with a lovely family that run it..you must go. All in all a lovely place with plenty of places to go and eat with a nice beach not far away

We were lucky enough to stay in the newly renovated block at the rear which was fantastic. Rooms have been refurbished to a high standard with a well equipped kitchen area comfortable beds and amazing shower with fresh towels everyday. The swim up pool was great but could be used by all which felt a bit invasive when sitting on your terrace. Can completely understand why some rated Lia Studios poorly if they stayed in the first block when expecting the newly refurbished rooms but the 1 star review is more out of malice towards Tui and a touch of jealousy to those who were allocated the new rooms. All in all rooms aside had a great holiday with lovely restaurants. Egla the housekeeper was brilliant.

You’ll get 2 types of reviews for these studios, for those in the superior rooms they’ll give 5 stars. Despite me booking the superior room with TUI I was allocated a standard room which was not up to standard hence the 1 star review. Yes you got a safe, WiFi & a/c for free (when it worked) but you also got mold & mildew in the shower room, holes in the wall & no blind on the window by the front door, we also had a few visitors (cockroaches). I would say the apartments are in a fantastic location with great views (they are on a steep hill so not good for anyone who struggles walking) & only a 10 min walk the Pefkos centre which is amazing. We spent as little time as we could in the apartments & would recommend the pool behind Palm Bay, rock garden & happy friends & pool bars. Best meals were Tipsy Cow & Nikolas Restaurant & Angel cocktail bar for a quiet relaxed drink. We have been massively let down by TUI & the owner wasn’t very pleasant to us either so I’d say definitely come to Pefkos but I’d book somewhere else.

We booked this place in May, lured in by the beautiful photos and promises of a superior room. What we actually got was a disgrace. The room we were dumped in was nothing like what we paid for — tired, filthy, reeking of damp, and frankly more like a neglected storeroom than hotel accommodation. It was a complete bait and switch. When we tried to resolve it, we were met with utter contempt by Domna, who couldn’t have been more dismissive if she tried. Unhelpful, rude, and clearly used to fobbing people off. Her advice? "Talk to TUI" — as if that would help. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. TUI couldn’t care less. Their so-called “in resort 24/7” support was a joke — the app is useless, phone calls were dropped mid-conversation, and there was no one who actually seemed remotely interested in sorting things out. We weren’t the only ones either. Loads of guests had been promised one thing and handed something completely different. And the hotel? Apparently no intention of fixing it or even pretending to care. No room to move to, no apology, just a smug “take it or leave it” attitude. This wasn’t a holiday — it was a stressful, disappointing waste of money. If you booked in April or May and think you’re getting a superior room, cancel now while you still can. What you’ll end up with is substandard accommodation and a ruined break. Do not fall for the photos, do not trust the descriptions — it’s a total con, and once you’re there, you’re on your own.

We booked this place in May having seen how lovely the rooms were. However when we arrived we were given a “standard” room if that’s what you’d call it. It was dated, dirty, smelt & not what we paid for. We tried speaking to Domna who was rude & unwilling to help & told me to speak to TUI who also didn’t give a ****. There in resort 24/7 app isn’t the best & I got cut off trying to speak to them over the phone. Basically it was put up, shut up & complain when I get home!!! Turns out there were multiple people all with the same issue, so no option to move to a room we’d booked. Our holiday has been completely ruined. If you booked April/May time my advice would be to get on to TUI, cancel your booking & get your money back. Even if they say you’ve got a superior room don’t believe them as when you arrive it’ll be a different story & I wouldn’t want your holiday to be ruined like ours has.

We booked this holiday solely because we were promised a refurbished superior room in Block 2 — a key factor in choosing this hotel, especially at such a sensitive time following the recent death of my wife’s father. We were seeking rest and some semblance of peace. Instead, we were delivered a filthy, downgraded nightmare that has left us both stressed and bitterly disappointed. On arrival, we were unceremoniously dumped into a standard room that looked like it belonged in a run-down hostel, not a holiday resort. It hadn’t seen an upgrade in decades. The shower had holes in the walls, there was black mould, a filthy, stained toilet, and the room reeked of raw sewage. The situation worsened with repeated cockroach infestations crawling out at all hours. The rock-solid beds were so uncomfortable they’ve caused me lasting back pain. The room was not just disappointing — it was disgusting, unhygienic, and entirely unfit for paying guests. When we raised our (completely valid) complaints with both the hotel owner and TUI, we were met with utter contempt. No solutions, no effort, just dismissiveness and blame-shifting. But what’s truly outrageous is TUI’s response. They’ve offered us a pathetic £50 voucher, as if that makes up for the appalling experience, along with the price difference between the rooms — something we were legally entitled to anyway, not a goodwill gesture. To make matters worse, they’re now trying to forcibly close our complaint, despite no resolution being reached and no real acknowledgment of the ordeal we’ve had to endure. It’s clear TUI are more concerned with protecting their image than taking care of their customers. As the week went on, we found out we weren’t the only ones. Other guests were similarly misled, downgraded, and dismissed. It’s a pattern — not an isolated incident. This hotel is not just neglected and mismanaged — it’s a complete scam. And TUI? Equally complicit, offering nothing but empty words and meaningless gestures. This was false advertising, plain and simple, and the way it’s been handled is nothing short of shameful. Avoid this place like the plague. And if you value your money, your health, or your dignity — seriously reconsider ever booking with TUI.

We are currently staying at this apartment complex, which consists of two blocks: one fully renovated and the other very dated. When we booked in early May through the TUI website, all room options were listed as “superior.” Later that same month, TUI updated the site and started offering “standard” rooms in the old, unrenovated block. Along with that change, they added a note saying there was now a possibility of being allocated an unrenovated room. However, this change was not communicated to existing bookings—no direct email or message was sent to us. We arrived at the resort by taxi, as the transfer bus takes too long for us. On arrival, we found a small building with a whiteboard listing all new guests and their room numbers. That’s when we noticed we had been assigned a standard room for our two-week stay. We immediately contacted the owner, who insisted we had booked a standard room and said all the renovated rooms were fully booked. She claimed we could possibly move in a few days. We were completely devastated with the room we were given—it was extremely dated and not what we expected or paid for. We raised a complaint with TUI right away. Despite this, we’re still stuck in the original grim room. The housekeeper even showed us a renovated room we could move to, but the owner later refused to allow the switch, saying that because we contacted TUI, she would no longer move us. It’s important to mention that we are not the only ones in this situation. Several other guests are experiencing the same issue: all of us booked and received confirmation for superior renovated rooms but ended up in the old block. The atmosphere in the complex is very tense—guests are upset, and unfortunately, the housekeeper (who is doing her best) is bearing the brunt of the frustration. She has no control over the situation. Had we known there was a chance of being placed in the unrenovated block, we would never have booked this property. We would have either chosen a different hotel or a completely different holiday. The experience has left us extremely disappointed, and we no longer enjoy being in the complex, especially not in the room we were given. Important note for future guests: There simply are not enough renovated rooms for all the guests who book them. Be aware that you may not get what you paid for, and the owner appears unwilling or unable to help.
