Arrived here thinking we had an appartment, was put in a small hotel room with 3 beds although there where 4 of us. We had to share beds until the following day. Then we were charged to ‘upgrade’ although we had already paid a lot. Speaking with other guests this happened a lot. I had to pay extra to upgrade although other guests made a fuss and got free upgrades. Do not be fooled by the pictures! There are two hotels and they pull up outside the beautiful one that is featured in the photos then tell you to walk across to the other one. Moved us into a room with someone’s old food in the microwave and dirty socks. Very disappointed, spoke with guest relations and she shrugged her shoulders and was happy for me to put in a formal complaint rather than refund me the extra we paid. This money came out of our holiday spends. Do not recommend this hotel. False advertising!!!

The hotel is split into 2, beach side, main hotel, lovely reception area etc and garden side (opposite side of the road). We were dropped off at the main hotel entrance so obviously thought that's where we check in. No, we were told we had to check in on the other side as we had garden view room. Kind of felt like the poor relatives having to go to the other side. The room was not garden view unless you looked over the balcony as you walked to your room. We overlooked the pool and entertainment stage which actually was ideal. The balcony had sun all afternoon which suited the teen who sometimes didn't want to socialise at the pool and she could also watch the entertainment in the evening whilst also charging her phone! The rooms were clean, spacious (3 adult size people), 3rd bed was a proper bed not sofa bed, even room for a dining table which became a makeshift wardrobe as not enough hangers for 3 people. Plenty of room to store suitcases. The room did need a bit of sprucing up, maybe a lick of paint as it all looked tired and yellow. Beware the over bath shower, if the shower head dips and flow slows, get out the way, the water becomes scalding hot!! Good pressure though. Ants were a problem in the bathroom and we did have a leak from the AC unit but that was fixed the same day. The hotel is under the flight path for the airport as its halfway between Rhodes Town and the airport. After one day you don't notice the planes flying over. It's a busy hotel, ideal for families with school age children. Mini disco every evening, entertainment staff were great with the kids. Every evening there was either Karaoke, dancers or acrobats. Maximum pool depth was 1.35m. Pebble beach so you need water shoes which they sell in the supermarket adjoining the hotel or buy in Sports Direct. The food is good, different theme each evening and the staff are lovely. Special shout out to Theodora who was always so friendly and caring, they all were. They work so hard. Shops, bars and restaurants just a short walk away but far enough not to disturb us. The boat trip to Symi is a must, beautiful island with a visit to the monastery. Rhodes Old Town, catch the local bus, book online through a QR code at reception €4 pp each way adult price. Great for shopping. Checkout day you still have use of everything if you are all inclusive. If you want late checkout/courtesy room its €64 if a room is available. Luggage can be left in a monitored luggage room at main reception. We weren't leaving the hotel until 17.10 so we enjoyed a day at the pool with breakfast and lunch and a quick final visit to the local shops for souvenirs (good prices).

We saw the hotel last year when we went to the beach. What really attracted us was the adult pool facilities at the front of the hotel. The restaurant at the front, Thalassa served delicious lunches and cocktails. When we arrived, we were surprised that we didn’t get a room with sea view as illustrated on the web. That was om as the room was we received was fine and I didn’t feel like making an issue about it. The resort is beautiful. Enough entertainment for people with kids. We tried to use the adult pool facilities, but all the chairs were reserved with towels af 9am. So we opted for the beach again. The people are very friendly, even though we only used the room. We surely would’ve used the poolbar if there was place. Great location. Just be very early with your towel if you want a place at the adult pool.

1) Service excellent at the restaurants, bars, reception at the older building - The newer building a bit more cooperation would have been good from reception 2) Food excellent and good choices 3) Pool needs better maintenance and chlorination as it was cloudy all the time. The pool lifeguard should be commended for his work. 4) We did not expect to be paying for loungers and umbrella on the hotel beach albeit 10 euros was not exorbitant, compared to what they wanted to charge at Kallthea and Anthony Quinn beaches 5) Cleanliness excellent My only complaint was the extra charge from a standard room to a ’SUPERIOR’ room. It was a joke and a rip-off. The rooms are exactly alike. Same dimensions and same furniture and quite small for 3 people and closet space good for 2 people. The main difference was that a superior room had tea, coffee and milk every day, a kettle, and water, that is if they remembered to replenish. On 3 occasions we had to ask reception to replenish which they did almost immediately. Of course there was also the view which consisted at looking at the road and a little garden in front of the reception of the newer building. This is really not worth the extra 193 euros. No sea view to speak of. I should have checked with Trip Advisor beforehand as others complained also. All in all I would stay there again albeit I would double check about the rooms and book months before.

This is our second year holidaying here. We were self catering on the beach side beautiful views of sunsets each evening. Fab restaurant at the adult pool. Can’t recommend enough. Staff throughout the hotel very friendly. Beach has stones so buy beach shoes very cheap in hotel supermarket.

Amazing holiday for all of us. The weather was incredible, would recommend Rhodes to anyone. The staff made our holiday that bit more special, from the ladies on reception in the garden wing, to Michalis on the bar and Theodora in the restaurant, if I knew everyones name I would name all. There was nothing that was to much trouble and any way they could help they did. If you want to be by the pool there are choices to which pool you go to. Or if you want to go to the beach which is no more than two minutes walk you can. The food was second to none, the difference choices you have is for everyone's personal likes. Each night there was a different theme and it was just a delight to go see what was on offer each night. Rhodes itself is only 30 minutes away by bus transfer which you can book at the hotel and it will take you to the old town and then you catch the bus back. Very easy and Rhodes is a place you have to visit once. We will be coming back and to someone for exploring, but for our first greek holiday, it is one we will be never be forgetting.

Sun Beach Resort’s located right at the coastal of Rhodes, where you have an access to the “Sun Beach”. The beach has a lot of sun beds but be prepared to wake up early to reserve a bed, as people are also up early to catch the sun. The Resort itself has a few restaurants available, but a bit on the pricey end. But if you’re willing to spend then this Hotel would be perfect for you. Afternoon tea, is also available if you’re feeling a bit peckish for coffee, cake. If you walk about 300 meters into the local high street just outside of the Sun Beach Hotel, you’d find a wide variety of restaurant options with different cuisines of your choice such as, “Nirvanas Sports Cafe”, “Kostas Village Taverna” and many more. Just be prepared to spend if you’re not alone! Quite interesting to see, there was an asian family-owned restaurant called “The Golden Dragon”. The food from the whole experience was really decent, greek food portion sizes were bigger than expected so being hungry was not on our cards. We toured a few places: Symi, Lindos, and Marmaris. All had good qualities of their own. This Resort lived up to their acclaimed 4 star Resort rating and i don’t think they were wrong as, the hotel was modern at the lobby to the lounging area but when it came to the room itself i felt like it wasn’t modern as it looked at the front desk. Although everything was clean… function wise i’m not sure. Everything seemed old and worn out. And to be honest with you the equipments could’ve been upgraded such as the hairdryer or the shower head. I’d rate it higher mainly because the front desk went above and beyond to help us out whenever we had questions about our stay. But, from our seven days of staying at the resort, the shampoo/ body wash didn’t get filled up, not complaining at all. The Hotel has a few facilities e.g. gym but again, everything was rusty and when lifting weights you could see the rust coming off. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at the resort but I think the resort needs to be consistently more persistent in their qualities as they have good tendencies but seem to have some areas they could improve on. However, my vacation at Sun Beach Resort has been truly excellent by all means satisfying me in all aspects
