Great hotel, very clean, staff are lovely always smiling and chatty, food was average in restaurant more pizza and more pasta choice than Greek food but we found this to be the same in all of the local tavernas. Because of it being in a remote place you were stuck for choice to eat out and no where sold a basic Gyros as a snack. The pool area is nice and kept clean shame you are under the flight path to the airport and the planes are extremely low and can go over every 5 minutes. The breakfast is buffet style and the same things are rotated, tinned fruit, natural yogurt, small Greek sausages, Greek bacon, eggs different ways, chips etc. If this hotel was in a better location I would definitely go back. The Greek night is definitely worth the money, excellent choice of food and dessert and live music

What a little gem this hotel turned out to be. Late booking and didn't expect much but all expectations surpassed. The hotel is modern clean and very well managed. Rooms are modern and very clean maid comes every day to make beds and change the towels. Good bathroom excellent little fridge and comfy beds. Comes with a kettle and TV. No English channels but we don't watch TV anyway. WiFi is good enough to stream videos etc. Nice bar open until late but not rowdy so a good place to chill. Reasonable prices. Food offering is also very good. Location wise is a short walk to a stoney beach but the pool area is well kept and plenty of loungers so we preferred to stay there. Few restaurants in walking distance if you want to eat out. But stop up on the main road and 20mins into Rhodes Town which is a must do if you stay here. Would suggest this is a couple's / family hotel so if you're wanting rowdy drinking till late with dancing and night life probably not for you. It is ideal for single travellers as small and friendly It is under the incoming flight path so you do get regular planes going over quite low. We liked it as was interesting to see where the planes where coming from. What makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Can't help you enough and really friendly. You can tell it's a family run hotel and they all take pride in making your stay the best it can be.

First day back and missing Rhodes and Matoula already. We (couple in 40’s) loved Matoula beach. The room was clean and comfortable (we did asked for extra pillows which we got immediately) a little on the small side but big enough for us and we had a double balcony. Kept beautifully clean by cheerful staff too. What is outstanding about this hotel is the service and the staff. A family run business and you can tell. Everyone from cleaners to receptionist, waiters and the owner who chatted to us at the bar were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. For us ‘Pan’ the barman was the star of the show. It’s not somewhere to go if you want loud crazy party night entertainment every night but we visited the bar most nights and enjoyed the Greek night they offered. Pan made sure to match the music vibe to the people at the bar and we had some great nights! The pool is clean a little o the chilly side but fine once you’re in! plenty of greenery to keep you cool on the heat. We had no problem getting sun beds in the shade (although off season). With waitress service for great food and drinks throughout the day. It is relatively remote in terms of location but if you like exploring it’s fine with local shops providing all you need and nice tavernas to eat in and only a few minutes walk to the beach. For us it was just the balance of peace and quiet (no loud Brit’s abroad type behaviour!) but plenty to do not too far away. We visited Rhodes old town which is lovely. 3 euro each in the bus and a taxi back cost us 23 euros but worth it for an evening dinner out in a beautiful restaurant (il Giardino - again family run and delicious food) You can walk to Ialysos where there is also a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars, and again a nice beach to enjoy a cocktail at sundown. We took a day trip to Symi island which was great and very pretty took a swim, it was a little bit for us but a lovely day out all in all. We would come again. In short we were made to feel so welcome by the Rhodesian’s and the team at Matoula Beach and had the best holiday!

Firstly it’s a lovely hotel but it’s very remote , staff on the whole were super friendly and helpful. But we found our room tiny and noisy , we were in room 225 right next to the kitchen extractor fans and trust me even with the patio doors shut you could still hear it . Drinks are expensive at the bar but at least there was no mad rush for sunloungers in the morning. No entertainment except a Greek night they do which you have to pay for . Few restaurants nearby but if you fancy a walk go into kremasti where you’ll find cheaper bars and restaurants. Beach was lovely and if you walk down at sunset you can sit on the loungers and enjoy the sunset . Rhodes was lovely in itself and we had hired a car so managed to see what sights we wanted to . Local bus goes into Rhodes but if you can get a taxi back as the return journey one afternoon was so full , and because it was hot everyone felt sick.

The hotel staff were amazingly helpful and friendly; the accomm was of a high standard; and, the greenery of the grounds (trees, shrubs and lawns) exceeded my expectations. The breakfasts and evening meals were always of a high standard and the service was excellent

The hotel is a family run business. The hotel is a small but a friendly hotel. The staff are very friendly and polite, always making sure you have what you need. It is clean and tidy. If you want something cheap and on the outskirts of the main town this is a perfect place to come to. The good thing is you are never fighting for sun loungers. The pool is a good size and never over crowed. The only thing is I would say the area is a little quiet, there is nothing going on around it at night time. There is a little karaoke bar not to far but that is about it. There is also a little water park across from the hotel which is decent for the price. The only issue is that the food and drink is a little overpriced and the drinks seem a bit watered down. I would recommend the Italian around the corner and Billy’s bar. The Italian is really nice and the owner is friendly and same for Billy’s bar. The drinks and food is very nice in my opinion. I would say it doesn’t cost to much if you want to venture out at night into Rhodes, for a night out and some entertainment. There is a place where you can hire quads around the corner it is cheap and I never had any problems had them for 2 days. Just make sure you check the insurance is fully comp. We went out into Rhodes for 2 days and it was amazing shopping, food, entertainment and even going for a swim, we did everything and loved it. The people locals and people who work there and friendly, polite and could not do enough for you. We also went further around to Faliraki as well and that is probs the best place for partying but again wouldn’t cost to much in a taxi, but Rhodes is still good as well has a nice a**osphere and good for drinking and chilling. I do rate this a 4 star because of a lot of the positives above. It is cheap, friendly and quiet. Just need to hire a quad or get a taxi if you want to venture out which again is cheap and worth it. The hotel is good for everyone of all ages but if you are a party animal I would not recommend.

Lovely hotel and so clean. Rooms spacious and air con is on 24hourswhich was great. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Had swans and love hearts made by towels on the bed for 3 days when it was our 40th wedding anniversary which was a nice touch. You get used to the low aircraft noise and it didn't bother us at all at night. Breakfast and all food was lovely and freshly cooked. Trip to Symi and Panomiti monastry is a must. Only tip is take your own hairdryer as the one in our room was pointless. Would definitely recommend.

Matoula Beach Hotel is a 4-star family-run hotel, in lalysos, one of the ancient towns of Rhodes Island in Greece. Our rooms had a great view over looking the swimming pool. The hotel is spotless and offered all the amenities necessary for a happy and relaxing holiday. The beach was only a five minute walk and there was a water park just across the road for families with children to enjoy. The food was absolutely delicious too! I cannot give the staff enough praise, they were so helpful, kind and great fun! The owners of Matoula Beach Hotel are on site through the course of each day and they also have a great rapport with their guests and staff. I have fallen in love with the Greek people and their wonderful country, thank you for making our holiday totally fabulous!!!! x 😊 x

Where do I start, the hotel is very clean the room was cleaned daily and the room was good. Food was excellent as it is a small hotel compared to some they take more time, the Staff are a lot of family so take more time to make your stay more enjoyable I have just had 2 weeks in a lovely place with lovely people if you want a good time with good people this is the best place. You can leave your belongings on the pool side and also on the beach and it is left alone. Beautiful place and Beautiful people love this hotel and the beautiful place of Rhodes.
