This is clearly an hotel of two halves the front, a lovely beach, bar patios, jacuzzi, gardens and the sea and the rear swimming pool. Both equally good. We were there for two weeks and when in the hotel spent all our time at the sea side. Its just not a holiday to us unless we are sat on sand by the ocean. It was clearly quieter at this side as well. The poolside was a massive area, lots of beds of various shapes and styles including large bean bags. Obviously, the beds in the water and the cabana style were more popular and filled quickly hence the no reservation signs. I’ve seen other reviews claiming that this was the best buffet they have ever been to, well that was not our view. Yes, we did not have any complaints about the heat or quality of the food we just found the type, presentation, and the order of items within the buffet strange. Average range of fresh salad, with hardly any change each day, some small plates with strange mix of meats beans or fish items. Main course food quite plain with little actual Greek items to choose from. Also, no soup served at lunch, dinner only. It is true that there was a very large choice of deserts, but yet no ice cream. We did like the Italian though for our lunches and went there most days. Our room was a full sea view, very well kept by the cleaner and we had no complaints at all. Water is help yourself from the water machines on each floor and various other venues throughout. People have complained of the drinks and cocktails being poor, we did not find this although we do know how to make cocktails we like and so guided the bar staff in the correct fashion. Some just slapped the liquid into glasses guessing how much each time, others measure properly. I know they were sometimes very busy but if you profess to be a mixologist then do it properly by measuring and mixing the correct ingredients. We even found that the local Coffee Liqueur was a match for Kahlua, so got a really half decent Black Russian made for us. Took the bus into Rhodes, a private service but with a booking desk in the reception area. Well worth the visit even though it was very busy with cruise ship visitors. Finally, and this is a very personal view, I know not shared with some we spoke to, whilst others agreed with us. Earlier in the season they strictly imposed a dress code covering men’s shoes, dropped when we were there so you see men in flip flops at dinner. I’d bring this back tomorrow. It is a good hotel and we would recommend it but it’s maybe not for us again.
