Kalithea Horizon Royal

All was excellent, great program for children, very good animators for example Misa from Czech republic etc..it was our best holiday.

We have just got back from an 11 night stay at the Kalithea Horizon Royal. We had a standard double room which had plenty of space even with a third person in the room. There was huge cupboards to store clothing and some drawers. I was really impressed with the storage space. It helped us keep the room tidy. The balcony was large with table and chairs and a clothes airer. The hairdryer in the bathroom is quite low power, but it was fine for me. The mini bar gets refilled every 3 days, but we really used the bars. The safari bar where the animation team did the mini disco and other shows and quizzes, gets very busy. There’s often quite a queue for the bar! There’s popcorn to be grabbed by all. The animation team do a great job and they have an amazing memory for names and faces. We alternated between the safari bar and the bar near the reception area. Here we listened to acts which sang abba songs, Diana Ross and the supremes, and music through various decades. The best pool table is in this bar which you hire 8 euros for an hour. The drinks were served by waiter service here and there is a larger choice of cocktails. There are so many pools in different areas of the hotel, that you don’t need to reserve sunbeds really. We went out at various times of the day at the Mysos pool and there was always beds available and this is the middle of August. The mysos pool has a bar with snacks and an indoor pool. You can also self serve yourself various soft drinks and beer. Ice cream is also available. Inflatables are allowed in the pools and can be bought at the shop on site. We really loved the pool noodles. The largest pool is very deep! I read reviews that the pool was very cold, but I’m usually a bit of a wimp ; and it didn’t take me that long ! Close to this pool just downhill is the gyro bar. Don’t leave it too late or they run out! I read a few people not liking the walks, but I really didn’t think it that far across the complex. Yes it is big, but it’s nice to stretch your legs before and after eating. You could catch a buggy down to the beach but we always walked. There was a couple of steeper hills but nothing that bothered me . I’m not overly fit! We watched the sunrise from the beach and the sunset from a path behind the Athena bar . There are fish to watch in the sea and the beach is fine shingle. We had a vegetarian in our group and a couple of people with a restrictive diet. Although some of the food was repetitive , we never went hungry. We each had a meal or two where we struggled but we were really quite pleased overall with the choices we had. I loved eating at the Thelassa restaurant but my vegetarian family member preferred going to the larger restaurant . The reception do not have great customer focus on the person standing in front of them. They will be dealing with you and answer phone calls leaving you hanging. This was my first my first holiday and I would definitely come back again the views and food was brilliant. Our server for the late night entertainment was a really nice guy However he only came to ask us for drinks 20 minutes after we finished them. Finally if you decide to go, attend the water Zumba at 2

I’ve been coming to Kalithea for many years now and it’s always nice to see everyone again. The staff remains the same during all those years, which gives the hotel a warm feeling like home. It’s always good to see Panda back at his Zumba and to see Stavros for some good food at the beach bar. The cocktails they make at the safari bar are amazing, they even make special cocktails if you want to drink something off the menu! I can’t wait to visit again next time.

An awesome place to stay at! The people are very friendly, the food is delicious, the ocean views are wonderful and the animation team is full of lovely people who will make sure u will have a great time. Will definitely come back next year!
