This is a really lovely small scale family hotel. The welcome was warm and friendly and the accommodation was excellent. We had a room on the ground floor at the back of the hotel (as pictured) which was nice and quiet, and being able to step onto the poolside from our room was so convenient. There were plenty of sunbeds and lots of room around both pools so it never felt crowded. We had room only, but the breakfast looked good, and when we had lunch in the hotel it was always very nice. The kitchenette is small but easily good enough for our needs, and had a good size fridge. The location is convenient for the beach and there are lots of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The old town needs a taxi but they are very quickly available (1-2 minutes) and it's the same coming back (always EUR10 each way) The hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. This is a very nice place, very well managed, and the people are lovely.

Absolutely fantastic apartments. Hotel staff are so polite, helpful, professional and so friendly. The apartments are spotless and the staff work so hard. It was my daughter's 13th birthday during our holiday and the staff made her a birthday cake ❤️ The staff gave us some recommendations for restaurants and they were amazing (and really reasonably priced). The beach is approximately a 5-7 minute walk from the apartments. The hotel/pool bar serve delicious food and the gorgeous cocktails (the best piña colada I've ever tasted). My children (13 & 8) loved the 2 pools, there was never any fighting for sunbeds. We had a fabulous holiday here and I would highly recommend this hotel

We stayed at the Mary Royal for 2 weeks from the 7th-21st May. What an amazing place to stay, a couple of minutes walk to the beach and in the other direction a couple of minutes walk to restaurants, gift shops etc. The rooms are very well equipped, toaster, kettle, toastie machine, anything you need is there, a proper hairdryer, shampoo, body wash, you are short of nothing. Everyone at the hotel was amazing and made us feel like part of the family, they all work so hard and it shows, the place is immaculate, the cleaners came every day, clean towels, beds made and cleaned the room. Reception staff where there 24 hrs and any query are more than happy to help. There is not one fault I can say, it is just a fantastic place to stay. Thank-you to everyone at Mary Royal for making our holiday.

An amazing hotel perfectly situated close to the beach. The rooms were of a very high standard and cleaned every day. The staff very friendly and helpful would go out of their way to accommodate you. Close to all the shops and restaurants, if wanted to go to the old town of Rethymnon only a short journey and very cheap at 10 euros in a taxi. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel is in a side road close to the beach and also main street. Accommodation is very clean, staff very helpful and informative. Breakfast isn't a traditional English one but was a pleasant surprise, fruit, toast, hot drinks, fab Greek yoghurt and really tasty omelette.

This is an excellent hotel. All the staff are incredibly helpful. Our room was great and cleaned daily. Both the pools are really nice and we were loaned an umbrella for the beach. Location wise, it is perfect - in between the beach and the main road where there are some good restaurants. Thanks for a great stay.

Home now from a wonderful stay at Mary. Everyone there goes out of their way to make your stay special and you leave feeling like part of the family. Even leaving a gift for you at the end, such a thoughtful and kind gesture. The hotel itself is super clean, rooms are large and very well equipped and appointed. We loved our room D12, with two balconies to watch the sun come up on one and go down from the other! Again all staff are super friendly and helpful, the bar serves great Raki and good food too! The location is fab, with lots of Tavernas, bars, bakeries, shops and supermarkets on your doorstep. We particularly enjoyed Finikas and Sky park for dinner. The beach is only a few minutes walk away with loungers and parasol for just €7 at Pavlou beach. Hire a car if you can and go and explore as much of this beautiful island as you can. Crete really is stunning. We will certainly be recommending this hotel to family and friends and we hope to return sometime soon too! Thank you Mary Hotel for a wonderful holiday The Soper family

The friendliest hotel I’ve ever been all the staff went out of their way to make us welcome and couldn’t do enough for you. Everywhere lovely and clean and the self catering apartments had everything you could possibly need, lovely pool areas, only downside (and I’m just been picky) some days was hard to get a sunbed. Right near local amenities and short stroll to beach.
