Summer Dream

Fabulous hotel, fab rooms and cleaned daily. Great food at the pool bar, nothing too much problem for the chef. The staff were amazing and fun, great atmosphere. Perfect location next to supermarket one side, bakery other side, 2 min walk to the beach where you find a stretch of shops and tavernas.

Do not have any hesitation in booking at the hotel/apartments spotlessly clean, modern and ideally placed.staff very helpful, polite and always there to help Pool are is good although sometimes beds are reserved with no one on the beds but overall top place to stay

I was dropped off late at night on the main sea road and told to go up a lane. There were no signs since this went to the back of the hotel, and my heart sank. But I took a right and there was Summer Dream with lights, music and friendly faces. My studio was large and beautifully decorated but, there were no drawers. A woman needs her drawers. My balcony was lovely and shady which was very welcome since it was the first heatwave of the year and apparently two weeks early. The kitchenette was clean and adequate and there was enough cutlery, crockery etc., for two. Surprisingly there was also washing up liquid and a sponge which you don't often find in Greece. No plug in the bathroom however but I carry my universal plug everywhere. The rain shower was heavenly although I had a bit of a problem working out how to use it, luckily there was a hand held shower as well. It was apparently a 'smart room' and you had a selection of lighting solutions. The maids were great, they were there every day and would do as much or little as you wanted. The pool bar was popular and not noisy at night thank goodness. The friendly barman said he loved me, I have my doubts but at 81 you're grateful for anything. The reception staff were very helpful and made sure they carried my case on arrival and departure. The hotel was in a quiet location but it was only a few minutes back down the lane to the beach. There was a minimarket on the corner of the lane and the beach road 'Vergina' run by a lovely family who run the beach beds opposite. I got my necessary groceries, mostly liquid, and a sunhat there. The pool was popular especially with children with lilos but I went straight across the road to the nearest beach beds. The beds are free as long as you have a drink and, since you have the best looking guys in Rethymnon bringing your drinks, I went back there most days. There are loads of tavernas all along the road to Rethymnon Town, and the harbour and old town are well worth a visit. It's about a 30 minute walk, a bit more in a heat wave but I managed it twice. We arrived and were initially disappointed with our allocated room but Nita upgraded us an apartment with plunge pool. Nita, Alex and Katarina are so friendly and work towards ensuring that their guests have a fabulous experience. Thanks!

Just returned from these amazing apartments! I cannot recommend them highly enough. Brand new with all the amenities you could wish for - induction hob, kettle, pots, pans and utensils, grill, espresso machine, fridge and freezer compartment, iron and ironing board and a washing machine. No toaster. Two flat screen TV's (not that I even turned them on!) Bathroom very modern. Enormous comfy bed. Housekeeping were amazing and friendly - particular mention to the wonderful Katerina and Vasoo (twin sisters). Great pool area and the food in the pool bar was incredible! Can recommend the Pork Gyros and Chicken Caesar Salad. Special shout out to William who is a new member of staff - what a lovely young man, so helpful. He is, and will be, a huge asset to the team. I liked the location, opposite a beautiful sandy beach and about a half hour walk to the port of Rethymnon and the old town. A really nice flat walk along the seafront. I would return to these apartments in a heartbeat- and intend to! Would also recommend a daytrip to Chania - beautiful, amazing shops and restaurants. Costs around 20€. Have a wonderful stay!

A great hotel, really excellent, that hosted us with a generous hand, with a lot of warmth. The location is excellent, the rooms are clean, new and spacious, the service is excellent and the hotel manager, Nitza, helped us a lot. We stayed at the hotel for a few days and felt like home. Highly recommend
