We are currently traveling around the world, and our visit here turned out to be one of our most unforgettable memories. [Reasons why we loved it:] 1. The food was amazing: Every day, Chef Fran prepared three meals using ingredients native to the Amazon, yet the flavors were perfectly suited to our Japanese taste buds, making it highly addictive. The fruits were also fresh and delicious. 2. The people running the lodge were truly wonderful: They were kind, always looking out for us, and when we were alone in the living room, they would come over and chat. While some of them didn’t speak English, they made an effort to communicate beyond the language barrier, which made us feel warm and welcomed every day. 3. They made everything we wanted to do come true: On the first day, we were introduced to various activities, and throughout our stay, we were able to choose which ones we wanted to do. The personal guides tailored the experience to us, making sure we had fun every day. For instance, when we saw coconuts growing on the side of the road and said we wanted to drink one, they let us harvest it together. When we found some delicious mushrooms in the jungle, they cooked them for us at night. It was a place where we could do everything we wanted. A special thanks to Lemi, who was our guide from morning till night. 4. The bedding was clean: The mosquito nets were sturdy, so we didn’t have to worry about insects while we slept and were able to enjoy a comfortable stay. 5. Plenty of free time and hammocks: The activities for each day were set, but there was also ample time to relax in between meals. The weather was hot, so breaks were essential, and the lodge had plenty of hammocks, which provided the perfect spot to relax. It was pure bliss. 6. Drinking Water: Water, hot water, coffee, and tea are provided free of charge in the living room, so you won’t have to worry about staying hydrated. We recommend bringing a water bottle so you can fill it up and carry it with you throughout the day. [Things to prepare for (you should accept these as part of the Amazon experience!):] 1. Insects: We visited during the dry season, so we didn’t get bitten too much during the day. However, at night, insects are attracted to places with lights, so it’s a good idea to keep the lights off in your room as much as possible. For insect repellent, we stayed for five days and each of us only needed one bottle of spray repellent and one roll-on type for our skin. 2. No signal, only Wi-Fi; the entire lodge shuts off the electricity at 9 PM: When the electricity is turned off, so is the Wi-Fi, so you won’t be able to use the internet after that time. It encourages an early bedtime and is also great for a digital detox. It’s best to embrace this and enjoy the experience. Additionally, Wi-Fi might not reach all rooms, so if you need a connection, you’ll have to go to the living room. 3. The showers are not very warm: Since we sweat a lot during the day, the col

I loved it % Recommendation!!! They really help you to get the best experience out of the days you stay in the jungle as they're taking care about airport transfers, 3x times meals per day, drink water, rubber boots for the hiking and a lot of activities really near to the lodge which you can adjust to your personal preferences!! Before we arrived I already wrote a lots of emails with Antonia who helped me quickly and gentle to answer all our questions we had before our stay at the lodge. Than for the whole stay we had a personal guide who took care about us and did the excursion with us. He was a lovely person naturally happy. The whole time he always was laughing, smiling and enjoying every day. You always could find him quick at lodge as you hear him joking and laughing with the other guides. And he had a local partner Manuel called Cachita who was driving the boat and was knowing really everything about the place he appeared and disappeared suddenly while our hikes where he was searching animals in the woods for us. I had the feeling that this guy knows every centimetre of the jungle and if you would get lost I'm quite sure he would find you within a few minutes. He was always calm, relaxed and with a smile. Together with those two super great guys we had awesome 5 days at the lodge and around there. And I have to mention the cook also a super nice guy too who did a great job cooking with fresh ingredients from around the lodge coming out of the kitchen sometimes talking to you about the food and your stay. He also did his best to prepare a banana birthday cake for me, he was a bit sad that he got to know so late about my birthday that it wasn't enough time to get the natural ingredients to bake the cake. I would definitely recommend to plan around 5 days than you easily can do nearly the full program they're offering. After the meals you always get a bit time to relax which we used to grab an extra coffee, a beer or just hang around in the hammocks which are all around the place. On the expeditions we never were in a rush and always had enough time to explore everything which I liked very much. I really don't have any idea what could be improved. For me it was a perfect stay and experience at the Libertad Jungle Lodge!! Thank you very much to all people helping that we could have such a wonderful, awesome time over there!!

We had the best time at Libertad! From everything we have seen in Peru, this was the best part for me. Our guide Guillermo went above and beyond to show us all animals around. It was super hot at the time in the Amazon, but the relaxing common hammocks at Libertad were of great help. The food was amazing and well suited to my vegetarian diet. We swam in the Amazon river with pink dolphins around. We did jungle hikes and saw at least 6 types of monkeys. The mosquitos were not active during the day. I could not have imagined this whole experience to be any better!

Firstly, our guide Edwin picked us up from the airport on time and explained everything to us. The whole experience was custom just for us and we could always pick a morning, afternoon and evening experience from a wide variety of activities. Every day we had our guide and boat driver all to ourselves and they were passionate about the jungle. Every activity was amazing in its own way, from piranha fishing to sloth spotting and even drinking out of tree vines. Our guide was very knowledgeable and could answer all our questions about the Amazon, and was an absolute pro at spotting animals camouflaged in the trees. The food was always fresh and we had something different every day. The accomodation was basic but we were well protected from bugs as our room had a net and our bed had a nice mosquito net as well. There were only cold showers and electricity is only on a few hours per night (around 6pm-9pm). We had 4 full days and we wished we had another day or two, it was sad to leave!

We visited in January. The water levels were up and we enjoyed our beautiful stay in the nature. It is humble, nice, honest place with a lot of activites. Everything was great - we highly recommend this place <3 Gumer is the local guide who grew up in the exact village you will be staying - authentic experience guaranteed.

Libertad Jungle Lodge is part of the Libertad Indian Village with about 300-400 people so to stay here is to also witness and even be part of the local life in the village. Remigio ("Remi") was my guide for my entire four day stay, and Gustavo was the one who piloted the boat on all six of my outings on the various tributaries. Having the same people guide you and help you out the entire time is a wonderful idea and provides for a more personal experience. On top of that Remi and Gustavo are VERY good at what they do and very willing to be of help. The accommodation, as can be expected in a remote location in the Amazonas, is basic ("rustic") but comfortable. Wifi is acceptable later in the day when the solar had kicked in for the router. Meals are served in the main dining room and are delicious. I am very happy with my choice of Libertad Jungle Lodge for my stay (and I have been at other locations in the Amazonas so I am able to compare) and I also have to mention Antonia, who was my contact person (with email communication) and she would always respond in a most prompt way. Thank you everybody at Libertad Jungle Lodge for a most amazing experience!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very easy to find them at the airport! Having our own guide was exceptional. We caught piranha and they fried it up for us to eat for dinner. We even got to hold a caiman. They will totally customize all activities to your interest. Our guide, Ever, was great. Would recommend. The food was too notch.

We had a great experience and would highly recommend Libertad, but do your research to be sure this is the type of stay you are looking for. We have no complaints and would gladly come back for another visit - we went in the dry season so would love to see what it is like in the wet. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and spacious with two double beds which made sleeping a lot easier on hot nights. We enjoyed being so open and close to the jungle while still having privacy and bug protection. Be aware that the rooms are fairly basic and there is limited electricity (~3 hours every night, enough to keep phones etc charged, and no fans). Starlink wifi is occasionally available in the common areas. The food was excellent, a few snacks or something available between meals would have been nice, but there was a good variety in the meals, decent portions, and the food was all delicious. Water was always available and you can purchase extra food/drinks in the village if you want. Guests choose their own itinerary/activities and there is a decent variety, most of the trips involve a motorised canoe trip on the river and walk through the jungle so it can be a bit repetitive but it was cool to start to feel like we knew our way around and we really enjoyed all our trips - it's amazing just being in the jungle, plenty of birds and insects to see, as well as monkeys, dolphins (almost every time we were on the river), sloths, snakes and plenty more. Our guide and driver were fantastic, can't say enough good things, very knowledgeable and went out of their way to help us spot wildlife. Transport to and from Iquitos was much appreciated as well.
