Ok, so we (a family of 5: myself, two teenagers and our two year old)booked a stay here because the location we usually stay at - Home2Suites in Albany was sold out. We called ahead to see if by chance our room might be ready an hour or two before check-in and are told that the room wouldn’t be available til check in time. No problem. We reserved one of the bigger, corner rooms at $172/night (average) so it was understandable. We arrived at the agreed upon checkin time and were told by a man wearing a blue, button down shirt that was so wrinkled, I questioned if he really worked there at first. He radioed to what I assume was his cleaning staff who told him that our room (526) was not yet available and there would be a 30-40 minute wait. My family and I braced for a long wait. Then a gentleman in a neatly-ironed, red, buttoned down shirt came to assist me and told me that in fact room 326 was available for us and there would be no wait. Thankfully that was the case and we didn’t have a wait but also didn’t have the room I had originally reserved. No problem. We had a similar room. By now, the man in the wrinkled shirt was addressing the crowd that was beginning to gather in the lobby loudly exclaiming: “ATTENTION EVERYBODY!!! I AM ONLY GOING TO SAY THIS ONCE SO LISTEN UP.” - he proceeded to yell to the waiting line (which looked like a mix of family and business travelers) the breakfast buffet hours and prices in an exasperated way that made me think they must be tired of confusion regarding the breakfast buffet. We’ve never been here before so I just shrugged my shoulders but found the public interaction awkward because this man who looked like he pulled his shirt out of the trash was speaking condescendingly to the line of travelers who just wanted to get their rooms. I found this entire opening process less than professional but was happy to get to our room. We had reserved the bigger room because we’re a family of 5. I entered that information when I created my reservation. When we got to our room we found the accommodations themselves sufficient but there were only two bath towels, two pillows and no linens for the sofa bed that the kids would be using. Not the end of the world so we called the front desk and to their credit they had our extra towels and bed linens up fairly quickly. But no pillows. It would’ve been cool to not have had to ask for any of these things. Presumably guests steal anything that’s not nailed down so I get it but there must be a better way. We called down again for pillows and they were brought up fairly quickly as well by a friendly attendant. The morning of Friday, August 19th was interesting. My wife and kids were excited to try out the Starbucks located on the ground floor so while they got ready in the room I decided to venture down and get coffee and pastries for everyone. The hotel overall feels good, quiet, clean, is the general environment nearby, there is no beautiful view outside the window, eating is very convenient, there are oil stations and fried ** downstairs, very good, driving from various attractions in the city is a foot of oil, there are many restaurants nearby. The speed is very fast.

I guess the dead plants in the pots by the front entrance should have been a sign. We had to wait almost 5 minutes for Emmanual to come out 'from behind the wall' to check us in. He was pleasant enough though. He informed us that the pool was closed due to a maintenance issue (it did not open at all during the time of our stay). Our room was nice. There was a mini fridge that needed some dusting/cleaning around it and under it. In the bath, I discovered there were only 2 towels and 2 washcloths for the 3 of us and there were no linens or blankets or pillows for the couch pull out. There was no answer at the front desk when I tried calling several times, so I had to walk down to get these items. When Emmanual did finally appear, again from 'behind the wall', he said there was no one to bring them up, so he told me to hold on. He went 'behind the wall' and after a bit re-emerged carrying a mound of towels, linens, blankets, and pillows and passed them off to me, as he had to check someone in. I should have made 2 trips, as I couldn't carry all of this large load without dropping things along the way. The king bed was comfortable with clean, soft linens. The shower was set up so you could turn the water on on one end and the shower head was on the opposite end, There were 3 bottles attached to the wall that were supposed to hold shampoo, conditioner, and body wash...they were empty. The hair dryer shut off button was broken, so it had to be unplugged to turn it off. One evening, I went down and ordered a flatbread pizza. Justin made it. It was pretty greasy and was not how it was described on the menu. During our stay, we also dealt with Imani at the front desk...she's wonderful!!!! Great personality:) Very helpful. There was always plenty of parking. Overall, this was not a bad stay by any means. This property was just not as good as other Courtyards we have stayed at.

book room even reserved a certain room in nov for valentines day weekend 3 days before stay get a call changing my room. i booked that room special for a reason offered me nothing for inconvience . traveling nurse wants it wow so i got a hose job cancelled ty for treating cusomers like poop

First impression lobby clean and modern - staff very welcoming . There’s plenty to do at mall across street - but a lot also in building- basketball court - pool - and fitness center . We really liked the long hours in pool- rooms were clean with blackout curtains that helped for a good nights rest- personally no noise complaints during the night. Staff were friendly, having the Hilton app allowed for easy communication to front desk . Each room has a mini fridge microwave coffee maker . breakfast which was delicious provides variety of beverages ( coffee , hot chocolate , juice, milk, water) and breakfast food ( what topped It off was the pancake machine) with a wave of your hand get two perfectly cooked pancakes . In case you miss breakfast they have 24/7 convenience snacks / beverages/ sweets and microwaveable goodies. In short I was very impressed with my stay at Tru by Hilton and plan to stay again :)

We visited Troy for a wedding and stayed at the Best Western Plus across from the venue. The location was convenient, all of the associates we interacted with were professional, patient and friendly. Shout out to Tyrese, and to the associate who was wearing the CD belt during our check in for all the great recommendations, and for accommodating our request to check in early. We recommend upgrading to a room that has been updated. Those are modern and cozy.
