We had an awful experience staying here during the holidays. First off they have NO services - they do not help with bags (my husband was very sick and they did not care). They have no room service even though they have 2 restaurants in the hotel (how hard can that be), they give you one small bottle of water in the room and would NOT bring up any additional and told us to come get it from lobby. There is no mini bar - basically zero amenities. How this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel?? This needs to change as they are charging premium prices for ZERO service. They also have no shampoo, conditioner, shower gel in the bathrooms and don’t even have it for sale, claiming the one bar of soap “does all”. Even the likes of Holiday Inn, Motel 6 etc have basic toiletries and more amenties at less than half the price of what they charge. Worst of all they refused to call us a taxi to leave - the front desk handed me a list of phone numbers knowing we did not speak French. We had heavy bags, a small child and my husband could barely breathe. Just awful.

Spent 2 nights there in a standard double room. It was larger than expected, clean and modern. The bed was wide and comfortable. Good selection of pillows too. Toilets were separate from the bathroom, which was a bonus. TV a bit small and far from the bed so not easy to watch. On the top floor overlooking a main street but it was quiet. Breakfast was tasty and varied. Coffee a bit weak. Check-in and out easy and fast. We wanted wine on Sunday evening but the bar was closed and one of the guys at reception offered to pour us glasses, which was nice. 2mn walk from Rennes train station / metro and bus. A fair few restaurants around and shopping centres nearby. Historic centre is only about 10mn walk. Didn't use the spa or pool so can't comment but they both looked attractive and welcoming. Few minus points: no milk in the room, only a few sachets of instant coffee. Air con a bit troublesome so hot in room but could open the two large windows so no biggie.

The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. There was either saying only one Saturday available and it was necessary to show up at 9h. A little disturbed by this welcome, I accept, but reflecting on it I think that even such a welcome is not acceptable. I recall 15 days later and pretend that my wife reserved this slot without consulting me. So I ask if it is possible to change. And clearly I hear the person breathe on the phone. The person asks me ”Why do you want to change the date?” I turned to be very unpleasant and the like by chance several slots are finally available and even at 11h. Unfortunate that you need to behave like that to have others proposals. The hospitality is essential for me, it is the first impression. And a hospitality of this type is unacceptable. Otherwise the two massors were really very nice. After care I have released my bad experience to a person from the hospitality that I was not surprised by what I told him. In the business I am sorry but the master words are smile and politeness. For these reasons, I will never come back to your establishment.

Location – perfect – right on a side street (Rue Vasselot and Rue Marshall Joffe) for easy access and the pedestrian area adjacent to the medieval city center areas. Very easy walk to everything. Quiet because two sides are non-street facing. Hotel – this is a very nice, upscale hotel with a “trying too hard but missing” décor style. The strengths are the location and the staff, who are consistently professional, polite, helpful, and personable. Parking is valet only at E 25/day. Breakfast is E 25 per person. Rooms – I found this a very difficult room situation. We booked the nicest, largest suite in the hotel on the top floor yet it was extremely frustrating to stay in for several days because everything (layout, décor, lighting, furniture) focused on “look” (perhaps?) over function and ease of use. I would not stay in this room again. Layout, Décor, & Furniture – the space was not well used. The entry was a short hallway with a half wall on the other side of which was the bedroom. The hallway space was not large enough to put a suitcase. A positive was the built-in closets with hanging space, shelves, and drawers – this was incredibly useful and helpful, although the lighting was dim. The room was extremely cluttered with mismatched furniture and very little available floorspace. At the end of the little half hallway was a very strange loveseat sized couch which had a very low seat and a strange tree stump “table” which was uneven and thus could not be used as a table. This little couch was not in sight of a window or the TV so was not useful for anything other than putting on your shoes. The bed was similarly low to the floor, so it was hard to sit on it. There was a round table and one chair, and floor lamps that had a tripod of legs which stuck out into the floor ready for you to trip on. We moved these as close as possible to the wall to try to get some space. There are no luggage racks so we asked for them; thankfully we got two and had to maneuver a way to place them so we could access the suitcase. There were way too many little knickknacks on the little available surface space; we moved them to get some space. Positives are the refrigerator and all the built-in shelving. The carpet was extremely well worn and very dark gray, making the room look even smaller than it is. The walls were also very dark gray and the lighting was extremely dim so the room was very dark and depressing to be in. Lamps were mismatched, eclectic, and dim. There was a very large deck (positive) that was incredibly cluttered with very heavy (could not move them) wood furniture and planters (negative) so it was very difficult to use the deck other than to sit in the chairs where they are. That said, having the deck was wonderful to be out in the light with extensive views over the east side of the city. The bathroom was more brightly lit, with good walk in shower water pressure and good towels. However, water floods the floor. There is

There's a short walk from railway station to this hotel, and again a short walk from the hotel to tje old town or to most of the places on central Rennes. We had a beautiful, modern, clean and well-equipped room on 8th floor with a very nice view. Service at the reception is excellent and the breakfast exceeded all expectations. There's a nice little spa in the hotel and one hour visit to the was included to our room price. Quiet and tranquil. The lobby area is beautiful with a lot of greenery and nice decor.
