This was a wonderful place to stay. It was in the middle of the oldest area of Rennes, in a very old building in which the historic features were retained while adding a modern bathroom. The room was comfortable and pleasant, and the proprietors were beyond helpful. I had hurt my leg prior to my stay and the only issue for me was that there was no elevator. (An elevator would not have been possible without compromising the historic nature of the building). A nice breakfast included in the stay. Hotel was just steps from restaurants and shops. When I checked out, there was a foot race blocking the streets and the taxi to take me to the train station didn't come. The proprietor (proprietress?) took my big suitcase and walked with me to the metro which went right to the train station!!!

My husband and I met some friends and stayed at Marnie et Mister H together in March 2022. The hotel is in a perfect location! Close to the main Metro station (Republique), blocks away from the Marche des Lices, and a lovely walk to the old center of town, Sainte Anne. The building is older, as many in the area are, and has beautiful, well maintained original features. The owner of the hotel was kind and accommodating. She had great restaurant recommendations and served a delicious breakfast! We will absolutely be back on our next visit to Rennes.

Wonderful location with a great staff and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast was really special and the staff went out of their way to be helpful with things like parking (which can be a bit complicated). Very highly recommended.

The attic is described as a "3 bedroom" apartment, in reality there is only one real bedroom (double) from which you enter directly into a small room with a single bed; in a space in the middle of the apartment they placed a double bed, without even a curtain to separate it from the rest. Let's say that there are 5 beds and that at least 3 people have zero privacy. The entire attic is full of wooden and metal beams and reinforcements, partly real and partly decorative; the effect is not the best. The location is fantastic, in the center and close to all points of interest and transport. The wifi worked fine. The kitchenette is very neglected, with old furniture and a cupboard in which we found - and quickly threw away - several packages of open and expired food. You cook on an electric stove, the socket is 20 centimeters above the sink. The bathroom has a separate toilet, in a small room; in the bathroom the tub doesn't have a rod to hold the hose up and it doesn't have curtains to shelter splashes: either take a shower squatting down or flood the bathroom. In the rooms there are armchairs with lots of cushions, all with a very worn look and a few too many stains. Breakfast is included in the rate, which is very abundant and includes: sliced bread, plain yoghurt, jams, store-bought sweets and slices of homemade cake, milk and juice, fruit. Every day there is a different cake but it is never indicated what it is or the ingredients; milk and juices arrive in open bottles, jams in open cups: everyone eats what they feel confident about.

Very pleasant stay with Marnie and Mister H for a night in the historic city center of Rennes. We chose the Iris apartment, well equipped and nicely decorated. Marnie's welcome is particularly warm and the service quality. The bedding is comfortable and the breakfast tasty, a haven of peace in the heart of the city.
