I stopped here 2 nights for my sons wedding and overall was very good. The wedding and reception were both excellent, staff very attentive and friendly BUT I had a couple of gripes. My single room was comfy and clean although there was evidence of carpet moths at sometime. On throwing the quilt back ready for bed at 11pm on the Thursday I noticed a tear in the quilt cover but as it was a warm night I put the quilt back and slept on top with a throw over me which I would have done anyway. I reported the torn cover to reception in the morning as I didn't want them thinking I'd done it and charge me £50 and the man on reception apologised and said he would inform housekeeping. When I went to my room later on the Friday to change for the wedding housekeeping had been in and remade the bed so I threw back the quilt to check it and the same tear was there so it had not been changed. As it was again a warm night I again slept on top of the bed with a throw over me but it should have been changed. Point 2 was on the Friday morning, the mother of the bride and myself went into the Sitwell Suite to put out 'goody bags' on the tables and I noticed broken glass on the floor near the windows and the sills themselves were very dusty with dead flies and moths on them. I reported this to reception who told me the room should have been cleaned the night before but he would have a look. He came in while I was still in the room so I pointed out the glass and dirty sills and in fairness to him he cleaned it all up himself but again, it shouldn't have been left to me to point these errors out, the room should have been clean. The brides Mum and Dad were also stopping over and someone's underwear was found in a drawer so something else housekeeping had missed. Overall though a good experience.

Our daughter had her wedding reception here on the 7th June, in the Sitwell suite. A big massive thank you to Sharon and the staff who worked that afternoon and evening they made the wedding run smoothly and couldn't do enough for us. The staff were friendly and smiley throughout with all our guests.The 3 course meal was amazing and plenty of food on the evening buffet, nobody had to queue for a drink at the bar as it was well staffed.Thankyou for being part of our special day.

I went for lunch with 3 other family members yesterday. The menu had great variety and the food was delicious. The restaurant was nicely decorated and very clean and the member of staff was very efficient and friendly. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

My wife is disabled in a wheelchair we were in room 002 it met all our needs well appointed bathroom shower and floor non slip. Beds were very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The food was very good also an exceptional breakfast. All the staff were friendly and professional very helpful and pleasant. Will definitely return when visiting friends.

An enjoyable break from start to finish. Our room was large, airy and spotlessly clean as were all other areas of the hotel. Beds were comfy and the room well stocked with everything we needed. We had booked bed and breakfast with dinner on one day and afternoon tea on the other. Breakfasts were plentiful with a good variety on offer. Dinner was beautifully cooked and presented and absolutely delicious. Afternoon tea was a real treat too. We enjoyed both meals immensely. Most of all, what made our stay so enjoyable were the team members we met. Everyone from the cleaning team, the reception team and the bar/restaurant team were just lovely; friendly, helpful and welcoming. It was a great base from which to explore the surrounding countryside and we would definitely recommend it.
