We got married at the Sitwell Arms Hotel Renishaw on NYE 2024. Wedding showcase and booking was very good. First meeting with our wedding coordinator was fine - we had no concerns and enjoyed planning our wedding. Half way through the year we was informed our wedding coordinator was changing from Joanne to Karen but After meeting we felt reasure she was aware of our plans and what had been agreed. At our finalisation meeting a few weeks before the wedding we came away very upset and deflated Everything seem to have changed that had been promised. We were upset and felt worried We emailed the Hotel listing thr changes that had been made without even speaking to us and expressed our concerns. We were also told that Karen wasn't able to be our wedding coordinator anymore on the day, and Laura would be doing it who we have never met. John the general Manager agreed to meet with us. He reassured us and started nothing as changed aparr from laura taking over and blamed everything on Karen and said they would speak her. We came away upset that we havnt met Laura but felt reassured The day before the wedding Myself and my maid of honor arrived to stay over We had all the dresses and Decorations for the room. We wasn't able to set us the room the night before due to another function so had to take everything to our room to move the next morning We checked in and was given our room key, we was told they was no one to help support getting everything to our room. Once we got to our room we found cleaners eating and chatting in there and it wasn't cleaned, we was told to leave everything and they would work round it. The room was small no where to hang the dresses. Morning of the wedding, we had to clear the room and remove beds so our hairdresser and makeup artist could get in We started to transfer the Decorations to the room. We asked for some drinks and support and was told Laura would be with us throughout the morning to make sure everything runs smoothly We didn't see Laura until 1.30pm , we were getting married at 3pm The room wasn't set up correctly and we spent time placing names on tablets and setting up sweet cart etc instead of getting ready. Our guest were arriving before the room was ready. Laura was rude to myself and my bridesmaid Thr room was completely set different to how we wanted it but was told they wasn't time to change it. We rushed to get dressed before the wedding , once I had my dress on I asked for a few minutes alone with my Dad, i was told we didn't have time for that We were rushed out of our room Music was wrong and played very quietly Some of Our guests were stood at the back of the room as they were told not to sit near the front, even though they were swats for everyone , so it looked like half the guests were missing Wedding service was completed We went down stairs to have the photos thr garden wasn't decorated with lights as promised the room we were promised t

Met a friend for a late lunch one Saturday. The place wasn’t busy in mid afternoon. The service was friendly and prompt. Had some really nice tapas. I’d recommend it. Squid, mussels, spicy chicken, patatas bravas and mushrooms. All served fresh and hot with decent sized portions and it was 5 for the price of 4.

Myself and my friend had lunch midweek. I had ribeye steak and she had steak fajitas. The steaks were cooked perfectly, exactly to our preferences and the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. Dogs allowed in the bar area.

Went for lunch had the offer of 50% off food. The meals were amazing, generous portions and piping hot, very attentive service, highly delighted. Will definately be going again an would highly recommend. Lovely surroundings and nicely laid out tables.

We came for the Burns Night event which was great. The food was incredible. I have been to a wedding here before so I knew that they'd be great with large events. It was also good value for money. We stayed the night, the room had been renovated since my last stay and was nicer. It was still on the basic side, I thin the cheap kettle and basic tea tray made it seem this way, the bedding and towels etc were nice. I'm not convinced that the double bed was a standard double, it seemed very small. Breakfast was great and though it isn't advertised they do a veggie breakfast. The continental is buffet but the hot breakfast is table service as is tea and coffee. This was £15 per person. As a hotel guest I would have expected the reception to be manned pretty much all of the time but it wasn't. We had a wait to be greeted to check in at 6.45pm, there was no one there when I went to bed at midnight straight after the event and there was no one there when I checked out and I wanted to book another event for over 16 people which you can't do online.

Disappointing Experience at Sitwell Arms Hotel, poor communication, lack of organisation, subpar facilities, unreliable catering, rude staff, hidden costs, noise and disturbance. Our experience at Sitwell Arms was far from what we had hoped for on such a special day. Leading up to the event, we found communication with the venue staff to be highly unprofessional. Emails and calls went unanswered for days, and important details were frequently overlooked or forgotten. On the day of the wedding, it was clear that the staff was unprepared. The setup was incomplete, and several key elements we had discussed were missing or incorrectly arranged. This caused unnecessary stress and chaos for my family. The venue itself was not as well-maintained as advertised, the indoor facilities showed signs of neglect, such as dirty restrooms and outdated decor. The catering service provided by the venue was a major letdown. The food arrived late and was served cold. Additionally, some of the dishes we had specifically requested were missing, and the overall quality was disappointing. Many of the staff members were unhelpful and even rude at times. Their lack of professionalism and poor attitude added to the frustration of an already stressful day. We were unpleasantly surprised by several hidden fees that were not disclosed upfront. This significantly increased the overall cost of the event and left us feeling deceived. The venue was not properly insulated, leading to constant noise and disturbances from nearby events. This greatly affected the ambiance and intimacy of our wedding ceremony. Overall, our experience at Sitwell Arms Hotel was marred by poor service, disorganisation, and substandard facilities. We hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements for future clients. I would NOT advice anyone to get married here.

Had a lovely meal in the Wild Boar restaurant using the 50% off the menu. Really good value as we all had the ribeye steak at £22.95 (so had two for that price). The steak was perfectly cooked and a good size. The homemade onion rings were gorgeous, along with homemade chips, absolutely lovely meal. The decor in the Wild Boar is really nice and warm & cosy. The staff were outstanding, really friendly and polite, couldn't fault the place. Highly recommend and we shall be returning for this offer as it is on all January and we understand that it is on for February also during the week. Recommend booking as it can get busy as it is such a lovely place.

Lovely surroundings, nice atmosphere,good choice of food with something to suit every taste and value for money. The staff are friendly,warm, welcoming and very efficient. I always enjoy my trips to the Sitwell Arms at Renishaw. I have already booked my next visit and have no hesitation in recommending this venue.
