We went for a late family Christmas dinner, never been to the Sitwell Arms Hotel before. Everyone had a great time, food was tasty and great value, we had the beef, Turkey and Pork Belly for our mains, plus a kids beef. All very well cooked, came out hot and all was very tasty. Service was very good, the hotel lounge were we ate, was nice a Christmasy, well looked after, and had a really good ambience.. only slight complaint is the room was a little cold.. but all in all for only £19 for 2 courses, we all thought everything was great value, and very tasty, would definitely recommend.

We attended for a 80's party, with Pie & Peas. Oh what a night!!!! All the staff were helpful and friendly, plus side the rooms were warm and clean. Breakfast the following day was clean, hot and presented well. If there was a downside to the rooms, there was no hairdryer available!!! On table service we had an issue with two vegetarian meals which arrived 45 minutes after the rest of the table were served, which at the time is very annoying, however, Laura could not be more apologetic and the veggies were not too upset by it. We would definitely consider this for another party evening

Nice Sunday lunch Arrived early, and was seated in bar area while the table was cleared. Quite quick service,by staff that were clearly short of people. Dinner very nice, Could have done with more vegetables. Dessert was very nice, They were running out of desserts on the Christmas menu. But we're offered alternatives off the a carte menu. Overall a pleasant lunch

It was a Monday night and the service was very slow due to there being only two staff on duty. There was a large Christmas party and a few other diners. There was one bartender and one waitress. At one point we considered leaving. Thankfully when the food arrived it was excellent.

I booked a small function room on the 17th November 2024 for my 70th birthday I booked a 3 course meal with 3 drinks packages and a dj and disco ,on arrival the room looked beautiful and were were allowed to trim up for my birthday with70s posters and a section of birthday items The food was delicious the music was very good and we enjoyed the afternoon it was from 2pm to 7pm but I found out later that one of my guest who has an egg allergy was given food with eggs in it and had to send it back which wasn't nice for her. The lady that was looking after us said she didn't even know that any of my guests had an allergy, she hadent bothered to look at the notes or information that I had arranged with the event planner, on evey occasion that I saw or spoke over the phone or emailed her I mentioned about her allergy. My planner was on annual leave on the day of my party, but care should have been taken and checked to see if there was anyone with any allergies, not even the chef new ,of course my guest new straight away to send the meal back , I would like to come back and have a meal at sitwell in the future but no compensation has been offered I feel let down particularly for my guests, please be careful when booking at sitwell arms when you guests with an allergy you can't rely on the staff to look at information supplied

We usually meet up, as a group of friends , in the same place, but decided to try the Sitwell Arms for our Christmas get together on 27th November. James, who looked after us , and was the only person on duty having been let down by staff, worked very hard and was very friendly...shout out to him. The food was ok.. However, the room was not very warm, and James' best efforts to turn the heating up were to no avail. Even though we had booked " Festive Fayre" there were NO trimmings up, In fact the only nod to anything festive were cheap crackers on the table. Very disappointing...especially as I organised it. I will stress again how hard James worked while we were there.

We recently had our evening wedding reception party here at the Sitwell. It’s a place we have loved coming to previously for meals out, one of our favourites for food, so we was really looking forward to holding our party here. On arrival for party day we all got checked in fine and the rooms were great. We had no.17 the four poster room and it was a beautiful room to stay in. There was a concern when at 4.45pm the party room was still freezing cold and in darkness (the party was at 7 and people were already arriving to check in) I was about to have my hair done so was worried about leaving this to other people to sort. I did attend reception to find out what was happening and was told an events coordinator would come and see me at 5, but nobody did. I ended up ringing my partner who sorted the whole room leaving him only 20 minutes to get ready. (Not sure if this is normal for an evening party so it is what it is, we just feel the communication of this wasn’t the greatest). We was told in our package we would be having wooden rustic love letters. On arrival they were white (no major issue at all, at least we had some. However I had paid extra for the rustic looking dj booth cover so it all matched). The party went great, nothing spoilt our night at all. However after the party we have had some complaints from guests. The vegetarian food wasn’t clearly labelled and was out next to the main buffet so people had accidentally eaten it. Leaving 3 vegetarians that we know of, not eating all night. I think a simple sign stating you need to request this option at the bar or a simple sign stating on the buffet what is what, would have prevented this. We was also informed over glasses of wine being returned as they were served warm, and another guest waited 30 minutes to be served as the bar service was slow. We then had another guest tell us they had an altercation with the events coordinator as she was rudely told to move so they could clean the area she was standing. As stated earlier, me and my husband did have a brilliant night for our wedding reception, it has just been disappointing to hear of these issues afterwards.

Easy to book with plenty of free on site parking. Staff were excellent and I only noticed two males running the bar and the table service: so well done to them both. They were super professional, polite and friendly. Venue is nice but a little cold tonight. Menu is ok, like most hotel/pub menus it’s trying to provide something for everyone. I was undecided between their pie of the day (which wasn’t to my tastes when I enquired why the pie was), Thai green curry (but it’s not a Thai venue) and the steak burger that I eventually chose. This came with chips a small salad and onion ring. It was ok but not great. As I ate I just felt it was all a bit greasy. The burger, the chips and the onion ring. The burger sauce, which is t described I. The menu, wasn’t great and didn’t in my humble opinion go with a steak burger; But this may be perfect for other diners. The meal was well priced but just felt oily. Good choice of premium lagers. Paying was quick as we went to the bar as directed. It’s ok and I’d try it again.
