Nice quiet bay on Golden Lake.Golden Lake is known for being quite shallow in areas. Some islands you can walk out to!The entry in front of this cottage is shallow with a sandy/soft bottom. This is not a cottage you can cannon ball off the dock. Swim shoes may be required. Great for kids or people learning how to kayak or SUP or just float the day away. You can walk out almost to the island but it does drop off. If you are looking for deeper water you will have to venture out to the main lake. Please note you can park a boat at the dock. This cabin site is tucked into the forest at the base of the Deacon Escarpment with a view of the Bonnechere Valley Hills. It is a 10 min hike to the Escarpment Lookout, and roughly a 25 min hike to your canoe on a small lake. There is a picnic table, firepit, outdoor gazebo bar, seasonal outdoor shower and private outhouse. The cabin comes with a map of 30km of trails for you to hike or snowshoe. No neighbours within 500m in any direction. Possibility of occasional guest cars going past.The spaceThis Pod style cabin is the perfect cozy forest escape for two. There is a picnic table lookout area at the top for a picnic or rest. There are steep drops in places. Please keep an eye on your children! The trails below the escarpment are more forested and have little or no hills. They are excellent for viewing birds and seeing animal tracks.Cell service available: cabins and campsites are located close to a cell tower. Well-behaved pets are welcome.
