We had the most fabulous afternoon at Nutfield Priory. Abdul and his team couldn’t have made us more special. The cream tea was fabulous, the library nice and warm and the Christmas decorations made the whole experience extra special. Thank you, Abdul, for making us feel so welcome.

Perfect in every way. We booked this hotel for a small event using their private dining room and stayed overnight in one of the deluxe rooms.. It could not have been better. From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were treated with such courtesy and professionalism by all the staff at reception, in the hotel and the waiting staff. The hotel itself is an amazing gothic building in a beautiful setting, the room was really stunning, with every comfort you would need; beautiful furnishings and fittings, huge bed and sofas, enormous bathrooms with luxury toiletries. A fully stocked mini bar including a separate cocktail trolley with complementary cocktails and a generous supply of nibbles. Tea and coffee machine with lots of choices. The dinner in the evening was arranged perfectly by Peter who clearly took pride in his work and loved his job. Nothing was too much trouble and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the grand surroundings. After a wonderful nights sleep, the breakfast was just as impressive, with healthy options and home made extras, the avocado on toast with hotel-made chili oil was fabulous, but also, and especially, the wonderful waitress and waiting staff. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and will definitely return and possibly hold another event here.

Incredible location. Staff is very professional yet friendly. The rooms are all individual and very good sizes, even the smaller ones. Rooms are clean and fixtures are updated. The restaurant on site is incredible, the portions are just right and the breakfast is outstanding.

This was our second stay as a family of four in a suite, and it was as wonderful as the first time. The staff are all amazingly warm and welcoming, and my children adore staying here. We swam twice and the pool is perfect for young children. The room was beautiful, and we had a lovely supper in the library playing board games. It felt like a wonderful relaxing break. Thank you to the attentive staff. We can’t wait to come back.

Went for a spa day with a friend. The facilities were clean and relaxing. Afternoon tea was delicious, with a variety of sweet and savouries (the scones were still warm!). We both had facials which were tailored to what we wanted. A lovely day.

Absolutely wonderful day at the Spa. I booked this champagne spa day fairly last minute as a birthday treat. I booked over the phone as I had a couple of questions, and it was lovely to chat with the Hand Picked Hotels team and get it all organised quickly and easily. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming and made it a lovely, relaxing day. I had the full body salt scrub and massage, and Becky was wonderful, I felt so rejuvenated and relaxed afterwards. The relaxation room and Amber lounge are lovely areas to relax, and I made full use of the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi as well. The lunch was delicious, and I had wonderful service from Audrey, again, very friendly and professional. The little extra touches of having your name in your allocated locker and on your lunch table are a really nice touch and make it all a bit special. I had such a lovely day thanks to all your wonderful spa staff and then wandered over to the main hotel for a drink in the bar there to take in the views and finish off the day nicely. Again, very welcoming and excellent service. I haven't been for many years but will certainly be back again soon. Thank you for making my birthday special!

The building is stunning. Beautiful architecture. Shame that there is not much info available on history of property. Staff majority of time where good, very pleasant and professional. One bar staff member appeared very unhappy and sullen in his approach to guests. Did what he had to do but without grace. We had a superior room on the 2nd floor. All good with amazing views over the neighboring pumpkin patch. The room had air con which would be great when the weather is warmer. The beds mattress was a bit soft and the pillows had no substance. Had some complimentary snacks and drinks left in the room which was a nice touch. The bathroom could improve with some updates. The bath had a shower over it but the bath was very deep and although there were handrails it still proved tricky to get in and out. A number of other guests also struggled with this. We used the swimming pool etc but did not have any treatments. Pool area and changing rooms were very clean and nicely laid out. Shallow end of pool was a bit excessive and seemed to take at least half of the pool area. The jacuzzi was not strong enough. Ceiling in the pool area needs some attention with flaking paint. We had quite a lot of rain during our stay and it was annoying getting wet going backwards and forwards from the hotel to the pool/spa area. its not a long walk but in the wind and rain its generally annoying. We have stayed in other hotels that have added a covered walkway for guests. We had breakfast twice and on the first morning it was ok. Please stop piling the toast into a tiny basket... toast went soggy and was not toasted enough, more like warm soggy bread! The continental selection was very sparse and ran out regularly. Had to ask for more items and plates more than once. The hot breakfast had been prepared before hand and then reheated/added eggs which meant that the bacon was like leather! The second morning it was the same but a bit more chaotic. Waited 15 minutes and asked staff twice if we could order a hot breakfast. We ate in the restaurant for one evening meal and it was good quality although expensive. The grounds are ok but could be used much better with seating areas and some planting. Overall we enjoyed our get away for a couple of days but it was other guests that really spoilt it for us. As you can see above most were niggles of small stature but other guests were a nightmare. When we arrived there was a large gathering of guests in the reception area that were so noisy we couldn't check in properly. We struggled to get through with our bags. They continued to be very noisy outside our room. On the second day the pool area was taken over by a very large family. Kids were splashing and fighting in the pool and the level of noise was horrendous. At one point there was about 9/10 of them in the jacuzzi and they stayed there for over 30 mins. A lot of guests that were just relaxing by the pool with headphones or books got up and left. There was a lady in the pool w

Our first visit to Nutfield, took a risk on booking Sunday lunch for a diamond wedding anniversary celebration and WOW, our experience could not have been better. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff, we were treated with professionalism and care. The food was outstanding, certainly the best value fine dining experience in a very long time. I would not hesitate to return or recommend, not one thing could be faulted. It made the occasion very special indeed - thank you Nutfield.

An absolutely on-point afternoon tea. All the food elements were spot-on, with everything fresh and beautifully presented. Staff were excellent. Decor etc has also been freshened up since our last visit. Would go back just for the miniature apple-crumble tarts, and the oven-fresh scones.
