Modern hotel, really nice room with good storage for a short stay. We arrived a little too early as we expected problems crossing the border from France to Germany (due to Covid & Brexit) but there was no one at the crossing and we did not even have to stop. The guy at reception spoke great English and was so lovely and super helpful. We were very stressed organising this trip and had actually booked the wrong month on our booking which he quickly sorted out for us, on top of being very kind and letting us check in early. He also, with a quick phone call, sorted out where we could get our Green Emissions sticker from which we needed for the car later in the holiday, and sent us off with directions about 5 minutes up the road to the correct place. Coffee making in the room. Could also get coffee and drinks and alcoholic drinks in the bar in the hotel and a limited selection of meals, nice dining room and lovely patio area at the back. Great shower, but like one of the comments below, no matter how careful you are the water ends up all over the bathroom floor, also from the tap which is located outside the sink, the water drips all over the floor. We have found both these designs in a lot of the hotels so it is not just here. For the brits, you could get CNN and British news on the TV. Ample out door parking. A McDonalds and Brew Pub (good beer and OK food, large portions german pub grub) within a minutes walking distance of the hotel. Breakfast was very good with everything you could want, with the lovely Bircher Muesli, even pancakes if you so desired, nothing hot!! It was buffet style (covid times), my only comment is that if anywhere is doing a buffet they should only allow adults in the area and not children, there was only one whilst we were there and the parent was letting him mess about with the bread, which in these times I do not think is a good idea. I have given 4 stars only because of the bed which for us was rock hard, such a shame, really could do with a thick topper pad to make it more comfortable.

I usually book my rooms via **********. In their listings they list not just the price but also the ratings from their readers as well as the TripAdvisor rating. What made me notice this was the Superb rating and the affordable price of $70. When I'm traveling on business solo, I look for as nice a hotel as possible for under US$100/night - and that's not too far from where I am having meetings. The Leonardo fit that bill quite well. Located in Volklingen, a suburban town about 16 kilometers from Saarbrucken (my meeting was in central Saarbrucken), it's a short drive away. The town of Volklingen is an old industrial town with a large steel mill and a UNESCO Heritage Site within the town limits. Otherwise, it's rather sleepy compared to Saarbrucken. When I arrived in town at 9:30pm it was pretty much quiet and asleep. I don't imagine there's much nightlife going on here, if that's what you're looking for. The hotel is on the hillside and is decorated in a modern contemporary fashion. It's nicely done but if you're looking for an old German setting, this is not it. The lobby is spacious and the bar and restaurant are just off the reception desk and by the elevators. It seems like this hotels cater to business clientele because it's the usual scene of business travelers hanging out at the bar having a drink or two.

We stayed here one night on our journey from Calais to Croatia. The hotel was excellent and I would not hesitate to stay here again. All the staff were very friendly and helpful when needed. The room was modern with all facilities that we needed, such as plenty of USB points, and the bathroom was too with an excellent walk-in shower. The breakfast was very good with a nice selection of food. There was plenty of parking which was free when we stayed. Our room was near the tram tracks and it was a little bit noisy when the window was open, but it didn't interfere with us getting a good night's sleep. Getting to the hotel by car was a little trickier than expected as the exit we wanted from the autobahn was closed for repairs, but the navigation soon took us to the hotel.

We had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. The lobby and bar are cozy, modern and very cozy as well as the restaurant ”The Grill”. The bar can be cozy to the evening, good drink selection (with beer it might be a little better, but this is of course tasteful). friendly and competent the barkeeper. The rooms are modern, clean, large enough, the bathroom is small but with large mirrors, sufficient deposition area and light. Breakfast does not leave any wishes open. Rugby, bacon, fricadles, potatoes (!), sauces, abundant selection of cut and cheese, fruit, sweet ..... Restaurant I assess separately, also really good.

Great hotel. All rooms are newly refurbished. Housekeeping is great, all is super clean and spotless. Food and beverage department is amazing. Breakfast is fantastic, daily changes in variety and offerings. Great service. Food is amazing. Front of house always supportive with a smile. Consistency - all day! Wir hatten das Flair-Angebot mit HP in diesem etwas in die Jahre gekommenen Hotel gebucht. Das Hotel liegt idyllisch in schöner Natur. Der erste und letzte Kontakt an der Rezeption ließen zu wünschen übrig. Geschlagene 7 min. haben wir bei der Anreise gewartet, bis sich eine kauende Dame mal erbarmte, aus dem Nebenbüro an den Tresen zu kommen (nachdem wir mehrfach „Hallo“ gerufen haben). Geradeaus saß derweil eine Dame am PC, die es nicht mal für nötig befand, uns zu grüßen, zu bedienen oder wenigstens der Kollegin Bescheid zu geben. Keine Begrüßung, keine Nachfrage nach der Anreise, stattdessen mitten in der „Anmeldung“ noch mal schnell zwei andere Gäste angeraunzt, die sich Wanderkarten anschauen wollten. Tolle Stimmung direkt zu Beginn…. Bei der Abreise keine Nachfrage nach dem Aufenthalt, gute Reisewünsche, Flasche Wasser oder sonst etwas, das man bei 4-Sternehotels andernorts selbstverständlich findet. Rezeption: 1 Punkt. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein, das Bad noch kleiner und zudem schlecht riechend, da nicht/schlecht belüftet. Sauber war aber alles. Der Service war freundlich und bemüht, aber oft unbeholfen und deutlich zu langsam. Zudem mussten die Servicekräfte wegen jeder Kleinigkeit fragen gehen. Uns schien dies nicht Unwissenheit, sondern Vorgabe zu sein. Unglücklich. Die Preise für Getränke und Speisen liegen recht hoch. Absolutes Highlight: das Frühstücksbuffet und das Essen. Kochen kann man hier: 5 Punkte dafür! Der Wellnessbereich ist dünn besetzt aber sehr zugewandt, macht einen guten Job-schön war’s. Ebenso die Massagen im Reha-Vital. Die Saunen haben wir nicht benutzt, das Schwimmbad ist klein (Sportbecken mit großem Massagepool und Kinderschwimmbecken). Der Außenbereich zum Liegen ist ungepflegt mit von Traktorspuren zerstörtem Rasen. Keine hohe Aufenthaltsqualität. In der Umgebung schöne Wanderwege, Kurpark mit Teich direkt gegenüber. Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt in Ordnung, wir waren aber schon in vielen 4-Sterne-Hotels, wo es stimmiger war. Für uns kein 4-Sterne-Hotel, eher gute 3-Sterne. Und dafür insgesamt zu teuer.

The breakfast was good and the room was quite big. The facilities are a bit old but very clean. The hotel is in a high-end residential complex, and the bus departs within a few minutes, making it easy to enter the city center. I have to live in the future.
