Very good hotel in a perfect location in Reggio right next to the pedestrian area and very close to the main attractions in town. The room we had was a bit small but very clean and well appointed very good quality-price value. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant on the top floor was exceptional. We enjoyed our stay in Reggio and would stay at this hotel if we return. We were pleasantly surprised with Reggio we found good food, beautiful scenery at the lugomare and one of the best museum use have ever visited. The only downside was that we drove there and we found it difficult to find the area where we could download the suitcases but once we got that settled we were fine. Also, we were right on top of the area where the garbage gets picked-up during the night and that creates some noise. Being so well located right downtown that kind of thing was expected and didn't bother us at all.

We booked our stay at Medinblu Reggio Calabria back in March 2024. We (2 adult and 2 daughters) arrived around 11:30pm by taxi on June 2, 2024, after flying all afternoon. Upon walking into the lobby, I was approached by the receptionist, he asked for my surname, then said you are at the wrong place and shoved us out the front door, back to the taxi and told him we were to stay at their bnb. The taxi driver loaded all the luggage back into the car and drove us 3 blocks. The room was awful. Not the 4 star hotel we had a reservation for. It had 2 twin beds pushed together and a pull out couch for our girls about 2 feet from us. The bathroom had mold in the shower and we had a tea pot with only one cup and one glass for 4 people. After calling the company we booked with and going back and forth with Medinblu until 3am they admitted the room we booked could go for more money then we paid so they refused to honor our reservation. When we checked how much the bnb was per night, we over paid it by $100 a day. They are dishonest and because they could get more money for our room for 3 days they moved us to a 1 star property. Which we way overpaid for. Do not book with them. Bait and switch

My husband and I loved this accommodation. Our room was a nice size with balcony. Although it wasn’t large enough to sit on, the open window and view were very refreshing. The employees were outstanding. Furthermore, the terrace was an outstanding amenity. We enjoyed drinks there each night and a wonderful breakfast in the morning.

False advertising for this place!!! This hotel is nothing like the reviews and pictures depict. Don’t be fooled. I am here now it is horrible!!! There is no rooftop terrace it is under construction. I requested two adjoining rooms 5 months ago and they didn’t even read my request and we are not even on the same floor!! The hotel pics on the website don’t look anything like this hotel. Everything smells like smoke. I am trying to change my plane ticket home so I don’t have to stay here longer than necessary. Do not waste your money!!!

Great hotel in a great location, close to the beach with the famous 1 km boardwalk. Also great shopping on Corso Garibaldi and close to the Reggio Centrale train station. Breakfast was perfect with tasty offerings on the rooftop. All staff were amazing and very knowledgeable of the area and always willing to assist. A special mention to Sara from reception who organised coffee and croissants as we had an early morning departure. Only issue was the cab driver the hotel used. She took advantage of our lack of knowledge of the area and insanely overcharged us. This was the only downfall. My advice to the Hotel, please search for another cab driver who doesn’t take advantage of tourists.

I can not say enough once again about Hotel Medinblu and The Director Sergio Pitasi. My husband and I visit Reggio Calabria every year and every time we stay at Hotel Medinblu we are never disappointed. We had a rough start to the beginning of our trip. The weather was so bad in Reggio that the plane could not land and had to land at the nearby airport Lamezia Terme International Airport (which is over an hour away). I was not able to understand what they were saying on the plane when we were diverted since they were only speaking in Italian but as soon as we landed I reached out to Sergio and he was able to arrange to have a taxi pick us up at the airport and bring us to the hotel. He was a lifesaver since my husband and I would not have known what to do. Once we arrived the hotel staff was so friendly and helpful as usual. Our room was ready and waiting for us. It was so nice and clean. We have coming to this hotel for years and it still looks brand new. We stay in a different room each time and this time we were in room 11 and it was fabulous. Plenty of room for our luggage and the bathroom was very spacious and big. We were excited that we were able to do a day tour to Tropea and the surrounding areas. Hotel Medinblu was able to arrange everything for us. We visited the Church Piedigrotta which was amazing and the tour guides knowledge of the history of the church was so delightful. We stopped and ate a Tartufo (which was tasty and refreshing). The tour guide had picked out the place we were going to eat lunch and it was amazing. The food was so good and the staff there was great. We then walked around Tropea for a while and walked to the water and it was the most beautiful water I have even seen. Once again the staff was great with their nightly recommendations for places to eat. Sergio also told us about the plan to add a restaurant to the hotel. My husband was beyond excited. We were told this will be completed by end of September 2023. We can not wait for our next trip next year to eat at their restaurant.

There’s a reason this hotel is number one in Reggio. It is outstanding in every way. I must first address the staff who are friendly, helpful and who provided us with information to enhance our stay. I have paid 7 times the price at other hotels and didn’t receive the warmth, kindness and service we received here; not to mention the wonderful location and sea view. Corso Garibald was right behind the hotel and was so charming and offered shopping, restaurants and some of the best gelato anywhere. We had two rooms which were spotless, spacious, had some seriously good air conditioning and a great shower. The housekeeping staff did such a great job. I hope the management sees this review and tells them. Housekeeping is the unsung hero! Finally, there are no words to describe Fabrizio. He escorted family members to a tiny village to visit family. He was the driver, translator, guide and so much more. My communication with him was some of the best interaction I have had with anyone, and again, I have stayed at hotels 7 times the cost. My husband and I travel extensively and I had stopped writing reviews, but this trip compelled me to become more active on TA. Medinblu and the other two hotels we stayed at in Naples deserved recognition. You can read my review on the fourth hotel as it doesn’t deserve to be mentioned here alongside the amazing Hotel Medinblu. Did I mention Fabrizio? 😊 He definitely deserved a second shout out. The other staff was just as gracious, but he happened to be the tour guide to Chiarella, so he provided so much extra. A free breakfast was included in our room. When I go back, the management is going to realize the hotel could charge much more and the price would be worth it. Thank you everyone at Hotel Medinblu!

Medinblu is a very well situated small hotel, central and close to the museum. The staff are friendly and efficient and gave good advice on restaurants and activities. Breakfast on the roof terrace was a pleasant start to the day My room was a good size. The parking arrangement works reasonably well.
