Holiday Inn Express & Suites Redding

Our usual choice of hotel to stay and normally, Holiday Inn Express hotels are clean, efficient, above average and the staff are helpful and pleasant. This hotel is NOT any of those things. lst pet room carpet was so stained and filthy that we asked to be moved. Front desk had to phone her supervisor to get permission to move us and then made sure that we knew that she couldn't ”sell” that room to anybody else because we had already been in there. 2nd pet room at first sight was not as bad and we just dropped our luggage and went for a walk with our dog. On return we noticed yellow marks on the rug and we realized that it was dog poop. We couldn't believe it - they charge $40 pet fee, how hard is it to spot clean the rug with a carpet cleaning machine. Phoned the front desk and was informed there was no one to even look at the mess let alone clean it up. We said that we would put a towel over it for the night and before we could say anything else, she hung up on us. Next morning I asked to speak to the manager to let them know about the poop and all I got was lip service. ”Yes we know, it was marked in the housekeeping log and yup, we'll let housekeeping know.” A reluctant sorry and ending every sentence with uh huh and that was it. I didn't expect a free room or any freebies, all I wanted was a sincere and professional response to what would be, in anybody's estimation, a gross problem of dog poop in their bedroom.

Room was large, comfortable and well equipped......We had booked a king room, but the room was L-shaped with sofa more like a suite.....it also had a large balcony......only con was that it was hard for a tall man to shave as the mirror over the sink was not tall enough...... Air conditioning worked very well and reasonably quiet...... Front Desk and Cleaning staff were all very friendly and professional..... Hot breakfast had lots of choices and was kept clean and replinished promptly......the only con was that the breakfast room was quite small and can become crowded quite quickly....... Didn't use the pool or hot tub......but it appeared to be an after thought.....small and located near the alley We stayed 6 nights and it felt like home.......would definitely stay here again.....

Travelodge by Wyndham Redding CA

The Travelodge is an adequate hotel for an overnight stay in Redding. The staff is wonderful; very friendly, kind and accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast is fine for a quick bite before heading back on the road. The property has lots of parking and is near restaurants, gas stations etc. There is also quick access to the 5 Freeway but is away from the noise and congestion of that roadway. Would stay again if in the Redding area.

Prices werent to bad. Rooms are very nice and clean. Staff are all very nice. The free breakfast was a joke, oatmeal and fruit.... fruit was either not ripe or looked like the fruit that fell off the tree and the bugs had their way with before being picked up and given to guests at the hotel for breakfast. Oh and the juice machine has been broken the whole time ive been here, 3 night so far. but all in all this place is pretty nice and I will definitely stay here again.
