Ideal hotel for hiking, as the return journey by train is very easy. Breakfast is very good. I felt very comfortable.

Very disappointing stay. I booked for 2 nights but after 1 night I couldn’t wait to leave. I originally booked this hotel as in the title it has a restaurant but the restaurant was closed! There wasn’t even a kettle in the room for tea or coffee. The room I was given was up 8 flights of stairs with all my luggage as the lift was out of order. The hot water on the shower took forever to come through. The bed was very uncomfortable. The breakfast was of very minimal choice. It’s such a shame as it’s a picture perfect hotel nestled in the alps with some lovely views.

Once we found it, the Walliser Sonne was ok. Plenty parking, ok rooms and cold beer to adjust the liquid balance of our soaked bodies (it is indeed hot to ride a motorcycle with full gear in over 30+ Centigrades weather). But we fail to understand why this hotel is listed with the wrong address on all the booking platforms, as well as on the Tripadvisor site. This hotel is not located at Spitz 26. There is no hotel at Spitz 26. Spitz 26 isn't even in the same town as this hotel. Spitz 26 is at the top of a very narrow and very steep street in the next town, and the residents of this town must be sick and tired of all the tourists arriving here, looking for Walliser Sonne. When we had circled around 10 times without finding the hotel, a local stepped out and asked if we looked for a hotel? Yes indeed we were, as he suspected. He then directed us back the way we came, to the right town, and the right street. Let it be known that Walliser Sonne is located at Jungbrunnenstrasse 80 in Gluringen, NOT Spitz 26 in Reckingen.

We arrived in the morning and asked if we could leave our luggage there because we wanted to go cross-country skiing. We were greeted rather rudely by a lady. She slapped her hand against her forehead (as if to the effect that you're not normal, the guests haven't even left yet). I definitely felt unwelcome and treated very rudely. The room was clean. But at breakfast, there was no sign saying that you couldn't use the tea kettle for water, but had to use the jug. This, too, was very difficult for the lady to understand, and she mumbled her displeasure. Unfortunately, despite the friendliness, I cannot recommend the hotel.

Very quiet hotel at the top of the village of Gluringen, large comfortable and well-equipped room, good kitchen with 3 menu choices. Nice stopover to visit the Goms valley. Good welcome, easy parking around the hotel.

A bad experience from start to finish. The owners and staff are indecent and even cheeky. Rooms on the 4th floor can only be reached via stairs (the elevator is broken). The room is only moderately clean. A bad example of Swiss gastronomy, bad for the Valais. It is better to spend a few francs more and stay in a real hotel.

A éviter impérativement. Aucune propreté dans l'établissement. Chambre minables, linge de maison d'avant guerre, petit déjeuner plus que minable contrairement à l'argumentation commerciale sur le site. Grosse difficulté de s'adresser à la patronne que ne maitrise visible que le hollandais, avons rencontré des difficultés lors du check out pour des histoires d'argent qu'elle n'aurait pas réceptionné. Aucune restauration sur place, loin les produits locaux de qualité de proximité énumérés sur le site internet Passer votre chemin il y a bien d'autres hôtels restaurants sur cette route
