The Rajbari Bawali

Excellent property and beautifully maintained. The staff is ever so helpful with warm welcoming smiles always. The food and programmes are selectively and tastefully curated. Nothing was out of place. This place gives you a taste of a zamindar life first hand and you feel transported to the erstwhile state of Bengal in the times of the Raj! A special note about Asim who personally took care of our entire stay. I travelled with my 6 year old daughter, wife and 70 plus year old parents. It was a joy for all 3 generations alike. We look forward to revising the Rajbari.

The whole property is really good. The rooms are well kept. We took the spa as well and it was really well done by both the masseuses. Evening Arti is a nice touch to the Bawali experience. Food quality is stupendous. My pet was also taken care of here with provision of chicken and rice for his consumption. Our stay was further excelled by the heartfelt service and care provided by Ms. Nibedita.

Excellent service and hospitality. Staffs at the restaurant- Subhashish to wingman - Jayanta all are extremely helpful and understand your requirements meticulously. I am a frequent visitor of Rajbari Bawali and I notice that their quality of food, maintenance of the property, services including dining and house keeping are all top notch. One gap I noticed was the disconnect between the sales/reservation person and the reception desk. As a result, the check out took time. But overall, it was a very nice experience.

Excellent stay at the hotel with very hospitable staff. Property is beyond beautiful. However there would be a problem with network and WiFi as the room walls are extremely thick. Peaceful and calm ambience but nothing much to do around. There a few temples just outside the hotel which are under construction and closed. Can look around but not go inside. No TVs in the rooms hence carrying a book would be recommend. Going on a weekday would be comparatively cheaper. The food prices are on the higher side but great taste. We tried the Bengali cuisine and quite liked it. The stay over all was great but slightly overpriced. We spent 17k for three people on a classic room and had lunch, evening snacks and dinner. The breakfast was complimentary. Our host was Priya and she took great care of us. She gave us the property tour and was lovely. All the staff were friendly and cordial. It’s located very near to Calcutta hence might visit again for a daycation.

It's a great stay with touch of history.. The place is beautifully renovated.. Evening (Sandhya Aarti, Classical dance, Musical Performance) is engaging.. There's a games zone, Swimming Pool, open area for walk & to sit around the pond.. The place is peaceful, soothing, full of green.. Last 8-10kms to the place is painful.. Each & everyone among the Staff are helpful, polite & welcoming.. We went with our pet & she had a great time there.. It's good for a staycation around Kolkata..

Only planned on staying four nights but then extended and then did so again so ended up staying eleven. That says it all really. Grateful thanks to all the staff who take full individual responsibility for keeping the place absolutely immaculate and for genuinely caring about their guests. Particularly to ‘wingman’ Arpan (Mr Bond) who was a total professional (even checking in on his day off); his ‘older brother’, Shobojit (especially for his humour); the elegant Priya and her team at breakfast; the guys by the pool sweeping and working hard all day; the expertise of Payel and Shobajit in the spa; the housekeepers; front of house; lady in the shop and; everyone behind the scenes in the kitchen (the food here being on a par with any fine dining Indian restaurant in my view). The connection to the history is provided by Mr Somar Mondal and I enjoyed his company many times beyond his village tour throughout my stay. The Rajbari really is a product of the vision to bring it back to life but actually it’s the people who work there that make it truly magical and memorable from my perspective. As well as considering a longer stay if that’s possible, I thoroughly recommend turning left out the hotel and to keep walking in order to experience Bawali proper. Thank you to the Bawali Bharati Sangha Football Club for allowing me to join in for a kick about each morning. That really was a highlight too.
