Golden City Rayong Hotel

Rayong City Center
Stayed here for one night and due to circumstance was just looking for a good value as there was no time for a resort setting this trip to Rayong. In that situation I usually stay at the Marriott but for a place to sleep and run errands within Rayong this place was great. Room was bigger than I expected, very clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was solid considering the limitations these days but given the space they are using assume that in ”normal” times it is probably quite grand.

A beautiful hotel. Fantastic food and excellent service from a young girl called pyjamas. She was an excellent host who was so professional in the manner she served us. The best service I have had in Thailand so far. Great at her job and made our visit that much better. This place I will return to. . Highly recommended.

Sai Kaew Beach
Right in front of the beautiful beach, which has sand as soft as corn starch and many restaurants. The restaurant Winkk has live band and a fire show which is like watching fireworks. The cafe also has fancy drinks. The hotel rooms are mainly bungalows which are bit small but not bad.

Nice hotel, most of the waiters are enthusiastic, with children, no mandatory extra bed, extra breakfast, not expensive, always eaten, the variety is not very rich, and the price is reasonable. The swimming pool is not big, but no one comes, basically it is a private booking, haha, the surrounding area is also convenient, there are 711 supermarkets and restaurants, and it is easy to go to Ko Samed.
The Oriental Tropical Beach at VIP Resort
3.6/50 Reviews
VIP chain resort is perfect by location, accommodations, facilities and reasonable price. We found it randomly, staff was very helpful with great sense of sale person. With such warm welcome led us to stay longer than we expected. Location is great for people who want to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, it is situated in the middle of the way to city and Ban Phe, there are many ways to connect from place to place by public transportations or rented vehicles, so far so good, it's convenience enough for food, massage, bars and activities around the resort. Design and space are built proportionally, spa and fitness have a great sense of thai aesthetics. Two beautiful pools and beach chairs which resort provides guests on a nice beach. Room is spacious, good contemporary design between authentic thai and tropical. Love the greenery vibes that perfectly fall into place. Beautifully furnished by built-in furnitures, good size of kitchen, corresponds to standards EXCEPT the bidet showers that THEY INTENTIONALLY REFUSED to have. Previously, we stayed at Sea Sand Sun hotel which is owned by same chain,so same chain same policy, no BIDET showers but thai design! I pathetically laughed out loud, not because of I didn't know how to use toilet paper but no bidet in the KINGDOM of THAILAND. Before we left, surprisingly got the explanation (i.e. excuse) which was said ”This hotel chains are owned by european so they prefer not to follow thai toilet culture, moreover, some guests don't know how to use and often break the bidet showers so we have to prevent this.” Dear owner,I was quite disappointed to know this, not about the non-thai you are but your narrow attitudes. You designed and decorated everything into THAI style to get money in my country but not even little thought to show how you respect cultures and local way of living.
Samed Grandview Resort

Sai Kaew Beach
Absolutely disgusting. Had an ocean view pad, not cheap at all. The place was disgusting, dead insects everywhere where it had not been cleaned, ants everywhere, bitten so much I had two sleepless nights. Staff were asked nicely to put it right, was ignored by the guy on the desk, Mrs then went firm at them in Thai, they sent cleaners in, still wasn't cleaned. Restaurant menu is laughable for a place of this cost. Breakfast starts at 8, was cold when we tried to eat at 8:15. Obviously we then ate elsewhere for the entire stay. So much more to add, but will save this to send to head office along with the rest of the photos.
