Hotels in Ao Wong Duan, Koh Samet

Been to Samed Cabana on numerous occasions and really can't beat the Beachfront cabanas. However it's really disappointing and irritating to meet an unfriendly staff at the lobby. Poor service skills and definitely not the Thai way to greet guests. Hotel needs to seriously consider changing the front office manager. All the other staff are great except for one dinner where I had given them food to warm (food for my kids) and they served it to another guests! And I can speak Thai! Absolutely ridiculous. Shall return provided front office goes through a hospitality course.

Lovely location with beach access. We stayed in a Cottage room, which had a large king-size bed and a single bed. The mattress was firm. Although the room was more than adequate for our stay, it is not luxurious. No room service is provided, but rooms are cleaned daily. Breakfast was included and offered thai food and western based breakfast items ( although it was luke warm at best) The dinner menu was very thai, fish based, but they did have pizzas or burger and bbq items. I ate mainly thai. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, although a couple of times we ordered food or drink for it to never appear. Beach .. sea was lovely and clear , and sand was soft and clean. You can walk over to the neighbouring bay for more restaurant options. The usual downer is the people that insist on reserving sunbeds and barely using them... frustrating when they are unused for 4 or more hours.

Great location on Vongduan beach. Very spacious , clean bungalows; nice staff; amenitiesare basic but in line with other similar hotels in koh Samet. A reading light would be nice. They explain at check in that room cleaning has to be requested by hanging the sign, you might have to draw the cleaners attention then they will clean the room. Breakfast is ok, mostly Thai options ; a couple of sweets and more choice of fruit would be nice. The only real minus is the rock hard bed, same as sleeping on the floor. They should not allow boats to land at the beach among swimmers, there is a jetty few meters away... better arrange a porter service for those who don't want to carry their bags.

Beautiful view, peaceful location, good service staff, polite and friendly. The swimming pool is secretly too salty. Beyond the general salt water pool I went down to play for just a moment and my skin hurt a lot. Breakfast options are a little less.

The hotel is located a bit far from the business service area, but the beach area near the hotel feels a bit serene because there are not many people staying and it is away from the business area. The facilities in the hotel are average. There is only one stool in the room. You can only sit on the bed when you turn the room. There is no space between the washroom and the shower room. There is only a towel rack inside and no place to hang a change of clothes.

Great place for a family holiday! We had a bungalow on the beach, with its own terrace. The house has a small second floor, where a double bed fits. There is everything you need. A good restaurant with a great view of the sea. This hotel does not have a beach, as the coast is rocky, but literally 100 meters away there is a beautiful sandy beach with numerous cafes and bars. We thank the hotel staff for their hospitality and excellent service!

Please be aware: if you don't book the deluxe room, you will not receive a bungalow, but rather a room located in a rather unattractive main building. I found this quite misleading, as all the pictures shown online exclusively featured the bungalows. For this reason, I strongly recommend booking the deluxe room. My negative rating applies *solely* to the standard (non-bungalow) room and the deceptive images presented during the booking process. The photos displayed are NOT what you will get when booking a standard room!

Wonderful, soulful, homely hotel. Like at the dacha. We lived in an economy inexpensive room. Clean, everything was thought out. Hair dryer, beach bag, umbrella. White bed linen. Air conditioning is away from the bed, comfortable to sleep, set so that it does not blow too much. Thanks to the staff for their friendliness! Wongduen beach is good in the morning, after lunch the sea is muddy, we went to Ao chor beach, not far to walk. From 10 along the beach we carried fruits, chicken, grilled fish. There is a cafe on the shore. We left back on a speedboat, the pier on the beach is 300 baht. One small minus, closer to the night near our house a toad screamed loudly 😂.

Was a reasonable stay for one night and the breakfast decent range of choice. Room was clean but the only thing which made me concerned was when it came to booking the grand deluxe room It stated sea view room you can only see a little bit just a heads up for anybody staying here. Would stay here again in the future.

The family room is average in my opinion. The wooden house is old and noisy at night. The shower in the toilet is very small, but there is breakfast. It is a few steps away from the beach. The hotel is not located at the pier. After staying here for a few days, we moved to the pier. I didn't book the new hotel with Ctrip app, so I asked directly. It is cheaper, more affordable and cleaner. The hotel we booked later is very close to the pier and the largest beach. It is very convenient. I still live here now and play for two more days! The second picture is the hotel we booked later. The hygiene is very good. You can compare it. The family room of the new hotel is also very cheap and very nice. We will move in tomorrow. We mainly go to the beach to lie down. We don't have high requirements for hotels. We don't think it's necessary to pay one or two thousand yuan a night for a room on the island, hehe
