Palazzo Confalone

We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Palazzo Confalone! We looked at other 5-star hotels in Ravello and chose Palazzo Confalone. From the minute I booked, the hotel Manager, Deborah, was incredibly helpful and friendly. From arranging our transportation, to booking reservations, to organizing our wine tasting, she was amazing. The palazzo is very beautiful and charming. The views are stunning. And the rooms are gorgeous and well-maintained. We started out in the La Duchessa room with a garden patio that opens up onto their large grassy terrace. The room was very spacious with a large bathroom, sitting area and sunken bedroom (down a couple of stairs). It didn't have a direct view of the water, but a few steps across the grass and you could sit at tables overlooking the water. We then moved up to the Exclusive Sea View room with a very large private terrace. The room was smaller, but the private terrace was very large. It had a table and chairs and two lounge chairs overlooking the most beautiful view. We enjoyed our coffee and breakfast on the terrace each morning. The restaurant at the palazzo is delicious. We planned to eat there once during our stay but ended up going back several times because the food was so good. The service is also impeccable. We loved that the palazzo was smaller so we would see the same staff of employees every day. It made it feel homier and more comfortable. It's hard to believe that this 5-star hotel is about half the price of the other two more well-known hotels in the area, given the rooms/beds, service, restaurant, the friendly and exceptional staff and the views are some of the best we've experienced on any trip we've taken and definitely the best we had on this trip to Italy. I would HIGHLY recommend Ravello and especially a stay at Palazzo Confalone. You will not be disappointed.

Housed in the oldest villa in the town, Villa Confalone is a wonderful little hotel (with suites located nearby) with excellent service and great food. For me, Ravello felt like the the soul of the Amalfi coast, as it doesn't attract massive crowds of sun-seeking, day trippers (it isn't on the beach). But each evening we were there, sitting in the town square, watching the couples strolling, kids kicking around soccer balls and hearing the church bells ringing, I could feel la docle vita in the air.

First of all, Ravello is by far the best place to stay on the Amalfi Coast. It’s beautiful and not as busy as other towns in the area. This hotel was marvelous and the staff was very attentive. We ate at their restaurant the first night and the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We loved it so much, that we ate there again the next night. A great breakfast in included with your room, as well.

Buyer beware. There were other reviews that suggested this hotel did a bait and switch. But since we were in the last couple days of our honeymoon, somehow I didn’t think it would happen to me. But it did. They checked you in and then walk you across to a different building. When I complained that I rented a sea view room I was told that all their rooms are considered sea view. Even though you can’t see the sea. The pillows were flat and god awful. The curtains were not black out so the street light shifted in our room all night. The street noise was loud. The decide in the room was non existent. It was really a joke for almost $700 per night. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because the staff were very nice and accommodating. The food was good at the restaurant. But don’t make this a honeymoon destination.

We found this amazing restaurant with outstanding food by accident. It certainly is a hidden gem if you are in Ravello. We had a two course meal with lots of added value. Don’t miss out it certainly won’t disappoint. Very much value for money.

this hotel is outstanding!! Can't believe how beautiful it was. The staff was so helpful and the breakfast was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend staying here. The only downfall is that there are lots of steps but the history of this estate is so special.
