The hotel has seen better days; everything is old and worn out – there's mold in the shower, and there's a hole in the wardrobe door. You only get one thin pillow, and the extra bed is a very uncomfortable sofa. There's no fridge or minibar. The breakfasts are the weakest I've ever had in a hotel – from the hot kitchen, there were only hard-boiled eggs, every day. No sweet pastries, scrambled eggs, or sausages. Coffee absolutely disgusting. Dinners were much better. The pools and saunas are nice, although the steam sauna only worked on the first day of our stay. The internet didn't work for 3 out of the 7 days. I wouldn't come back here.

My wife and I stayed for a week, to ski in Rauris. Much about the hotel is as others have described - the bus stop right outside (you can set your watch by the reliability) and a good store room for skis and boots, and everything spotlessly clean, any minor problems immediately resolved (ie a pinged lightbulb). What made it special was the friendly welcome, and the food. We were welcomed by name as soon as we arrived, and our room had a lovely view from the balcony (although it was too cold to sit out there!). The room itself was warm though, as was the whole hotel. There is a nice bar where you can enjoy a beer or two after skiing, and a swimming pool and wellness centre (although we didn't actually use it). We had booked half board, with some hesitation because of past experiences in other hotels, but we need not have worried. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options to choose from every day. In the evening, there was a varied menu (it’s not a la carte so choose options in the morning) with four courses: appetiser, soup, main course (and extensive salad bar) and dessert. All served with a cheery smile by very friendly staff (several of whom speak very good English). We were also provided with a packed breakfast for the return journey to the airport, because we left early in the morning. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel - everything was lovely and we had a great holiday.

Stayed in this hotel the last week in February as a family with young kids ! Feel I need to write a true review of the hotel and Rauris resort! Pluses ski bus stops right outside the hotel, cleaning is amazing in the rooms! Lady at front reception not the most accommodating, a dog at the front desk that will bite the hand off your child, so keep your children away! Barman is one of the most unaccommodating barmen I’ve ever met! Should be in a different industry and not in hospitality! Rolled his eyes on a few occasions when placing orders! On the food, we thought breakfast was the laziest breakfast selection we have ever experienced, only hot food was hard hard boiled eggs! Just one old school toaster that took forever to toast! Comical! Evening meal wasn’t a whole lot better, I’d say one evening meal out of the six was at best decent! We eat out one night when we seen the menu for that night! Amazing pizza restaurant 10 minutes walk away, it was well worth it, just to get really nice food! Rauris is a beautiful resort, but is definitely not for beginners, this was our second ski holiday as a family! I had skied years before, but none of my family, so all relatively new! My teenage kids were 100% on the slopes, my 8 year old and 7 year old were ok! But forget about skiing as a family anywhere on the slopes with any of them beginners, my 7 year old and 8 year old were ok going down the slopes with their instructor, the blues were very challenging in parts and were borderline reds! So didn’t feel comfortable taking them down most of the blues apart from number 2 slope that was still very challenging! My wife who is still learning didn’t go up the slopes and stayed on the nursery slopes, so no family skiing for the whole week! Rauris is an intermediate paradise and it really is not for complete beginners or family skiing for learners! My wife never got to practice her skiing on cruising blues because there are none unfortunately! I hope this is helpful for anyone planning a ski trip to Rauris!

A very traditional hotel warm and welcoming. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay, very clean and serviced daily. The food is excellent Breakfast is a buffet with everything you can think of to please even the pickiest of eaters. Evening meals are three courses and a salad bar, lovely food and always served with a smile. Would highly recommend

We stayed for approximately a week for a skiing holiday through Crystal Ski. The staff were cordial, professional and very friendly. The room was outstanding, comfortable and homespun. The food was excellent, every evening something different and plenty of variety. The hotel is a short walk from the slopes and is conveniently located. Honestly cannot recommend this hotel more. It made our holiday wonderful and relaxing. Would highly recommend. Excellent for families too.

Booked for our first skiing holiday as a couple through Crystal Ski. The food at the hotel was great with good options to choose from and themed nights throughout the week. Nice, spacious room and great shower. The whole hotel was very clean and warm. Very convenient ski room (with boot warmers) and a nice pool. We also enjoyed the hotel bar and the convenience of having the ski bus stop right outside. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a traditional hotel with good food, great staff and everything you need.

We stayed in the Kristall for a weeks skiing, as a party of nine family members. The rooms were all in the same corridor and we were all sat together for meals. Staff were attentive to all our needs, being both friendly and professional. The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. Food was excellent and plentiful with a wide variety. Amenities were a welcome extra; swimming pool, sauna and steam room were all clean. The hotel was well run and well priced. I would definitely use this hotel again and highly recommend it.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. We managed to book a late skiing deal through Crystal Ski and was pleased to choose this hotel. To start with, the lady on the front desk, who I assume is the owner is one of the hardest working managers I have ever seen. She is up early in the morning for breakfast and is helping out with serving dinner in the evening. She never takes any time off. She runs an extremely tight ship and her staff are very professional and always smiling. The hotel room was really nice - think of a Travel Lodge style with an Austrian take. The beds were amazingly comfortable with crisp clean sheets and linen. Flat screen TV, table and chairs, phone etc. The bathroom was very clean. And the shower, OMG the shower was epic. Hot and like a rainfall - Epic after a days skiing! Now, the best part of the hotel was the food. We went for the half board option and I can’t stress enough how good the food was. The breakfast was a mix of cereals, fruit, yogurts, meats, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, fresh orange or apple juice, tea and coffee on tap and bread rolls. The food was replenished very quickly by the staff, who always seem to be smiling. The evening meals were nothing short of amazing. The salad bar was plentiful and uniquely Austrian. The soup each day was freshly prepared and not from a packet. The main meals were beautifully cooked and presented - each night was a different dish. There were special themed occasions from candle light dinner to local market food to chefs special. The puddings were awesome each night. I can honestly say that the food from this hotel is some of the best food I have ever tasted. I actually came back from this skiing holiday weighing more than I did at the start of the holiday. There is a bar area so if you fancy a beer after dinner… The staff are all very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. There is a big heated ski room for your ski equipment which has a separate entry door so that you’re not traipsing though the hotel with your ski equipment. You can access the ski room from inside the hotel in the morning. The ski room is locked at 8pm and is fully secure. We didn’t make use of the swimming pool or the sauna but to be fair, after a day skiing and epic food, we just vegged out in front of the TV. There is free Wi-Fi which is fast and reliable. This hotel is so good that we have booked to come skiing here again in Jan 2023.
