The main advantage of this place is its location. It's a five mins walk to Randwick light rail station. Randwick light rail station is the last stop also. The place is right opposite to two hospitals. As a foreign tourist, I find this place safe, quiet, and easy to access by light rail transport. Coles and Woolworth's supermarkets are ten minute walk from this place. A good location if your children are studying at UNSW as it is one rail stop to UNSW High Street. You can also walk to UNSW from Randwick light rail station (15 mins walk). Please note there are no lifts in this place. Hence you will need to carry your own check-in luggage. There are no bell boys to do this. The kitchen is shared and so is the laundry. You will need to use three one-dollar coins for the washing machine and three one-dollar coins for the dryer. You may need to use the dryer twice hence you will need to spend A$6 on drying your dress. The reception will help you with changing your notes to coins. You need to use your own washing powder and fabric softener. There are lots of eateries around this place including KFC, Oporto, manoosh pizza, and MacDonald to name a few. Rooms are cleaned only once a week. You will need to help yourself with fresh towels that are placed in the common area. For someone from Singapore like myself, this is a very odd culture for a Hotel. Parking is pain and this place doesn't provide one. It will cost you A$ 50 per day for an over night parking. Wilson Parking is close by at Ritz cinema if you want to park your rent a car. I guess that's how it is here in Sydney. Overall a good place to stay and the location is the best part of this stay.

The Prince Of Wales Hospital needs to remove this "hotel" from their list of recommended accommodation. The only thing in its favour is the close proximity to the hospital. On arrival, we walked down a set of steps covered with large, wet slippery leaves which were still there when we left three days later. (I had to kick them to the side to make it safe to walk on). The entrance is at the side of the building, which is unusual and when we found the tiny reception area hidden away up a corridor between rooms, it was unattended and I had to ring the number displayed on the window to bring a person to the office to check us in. This was around 2pm. There was an awful smell coming from the tiny communal kitchen/laundry and this permeated throughout the entire building. Our room was on the first floor and as we climbed the stairs I noticed that the walls were scuffed and marked and the white handrail was absolutely filthy as were the treads on the stairs and the carpet could be doing with a good clean. The room looked fairly good at first glance and was a good size, as was the bathroom, but on closer inspection the place was dusty and the table surface needed a good scrub and the window surround was very grimy. We were surprised when returning to our room late afternoon that it had not been serviced. I had to ring the number on the office window to talk to someone about this and was informed that the rooms are serviced every second day. We had not been informed about this. There were piles of fresh bath towels on a cabinet in the hallway of each floor, but no bath mats or hand towels. The communal kitchen was disgusting. The sink was not clean and had scraps of food in it and no washing up liquid available. The same dirty tea towel and washing up cloth were draped beside the sink for the duration of our stay. We had been charged just under $1,000 for a five night stay. I was due to have open heart surgery at the hospital on the second day of our stay but this was postponed until the beginning of the following week. We requested that the two days remaining be changed to coincide with my new surgery dates, but this was denied, as was a request for refund. This is without a doubt the worst accommodation I have experienced anywhere in the world and I have travelled extensively both in Australia and elsewhere. I will add photographs as proof that I am not exaggerating.

Response from Property: Thank you for staying with us and for your review. It is interesting how you never mentioned any of this to us but the moment you were not granted a refund thanks to the cancellation policy you have been on a rampage to berate our business. We try very hard to ensure everyone has a great stay but there are limitations - weather, scheduled gardening services at certain times, housekeeping is not 24/7., to name a few. We also have no control of whether you read the terms and conditions of your stay or not but they are there and terms are very clear. We are sorry you had such a disappointing experience. We will raise your issues with our team now that you have communicated them to us.

Location is fine. Easy to access. Instructions for check in was easy. Clean room, but small. I was in room 107. Major down fall is how noisy it is. I am a light sleeper, and there was just too much noise. Kitchen is directly opposite the room, and although it says 8-8pm, people use it well outside of these hours. I could hear everyone talk, quite clearly! If it wasn’t for the noise issue, I would have rated it higher. But we need sleep? On a holiday …

If you like a room with no internet when it is advertised as having internet then the room we stayed in is for you. It is clean and very close to the hospital so that's good. Our room was right on Avoca street so the light and noise from the road at night made sleeping difficult. We complained about the lack of internet, but of course nothing was done. The dear lady at reception offered us her personal phone, but that was not really appropriate. Management should have fixed this and also reception is only open from 11am till 4 pm. Our complaint was basically ignored.
Response from Property: We tried to help you but you refused. We can't do much more when something is out of our control

Easy to communicate with staff who was very helpful and assisted with any enquiries. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Pretty much after spending all day waiting for a mechanic, then truck as our car broke down when we're passing trough Sydney, your place, the location and absolute incredible staff communication helped us to relax and forget about the stressful day.
