Highly recommended Avoca Randwick.
Fab location near hospital and the main street with lots of food options.
Room recently renovated and spotless.
They have a shared kitchen/laundry with everything you could imagine you would need.
Would definitely stay again
And thanks to the cleaner who stayed back to vacuum after my daughter spilled something in the room

It was my 1st time staying at Avoca Randwick and I was very pleased with location, cleanliness, the receptionist and services rendered. Will stay at Avoca again when I next go to Sydney.

The main advantage of this place is its location. It's a five mins walk to Randwick light rail station. Randwick light rail station is the last stop also. The place is right opposite to two hospitals. As a foreign tourist, I find this place safe, quiet, and easy to access by light rail transport. Coles and Woolworth's supermarkets are ten minute walk from this place. A good location if your children are studying at UNSW as it is one rail stop to UNSW High Street. You can also walk to UNSW from Randwick light rail station (15 mins walk). Please note there are no lifts in this place. Hence you will need to carry your own check-in luggage. There are no bell boys to do this. The kitchen is shared and so is the laundry. You will need to use three one-dollar coins for the washing machine and three one-dollar coins for the dryer. You may need to use the dryer twice hence you will need to spend A$6 on drying your dress. The reception will help you with changing your notes to coins. You need to use your own washing powder and fabric softener. There are lots of eateries around this place including KFC, Oporto, manoosh pizza, and MacDonald to name a few. Rooms are cleaned only once a week. You will need to help yourself with fresh towels that are placed in the common area. For someone from Singapore like myself, this is a very odd culture for a Hotel. Parking is pain and this place doesn't provide one. It will cost you A$ 50 per day for an over night parking. Wilson Parking is close by at Ritz cinema if you want to park your rent a car. I guess that's how it is here in Sydney. Overall a good place to stay and the location is the best part of this stay.

A small white house on the side of Avoca Road is the hotel. It has two floors, complete room facilities, comfortable mattresses and soft lighting. Sydney has strong sunshine, and there are reversible wooden blinds in the window to completely block the light. The water from the bathroom faucet is very strong. There is a public kitchen and washing machine downstairs to facilitate the needs of guests. The main door and room doors of the hotel are password locks, which will be given on the door card when checking in.
The hotel is basically self-service, and the front desk is open from 11 to 16 o'clock. If you check out early, you can put the door card in a small box in the window. You will receive a thank you email when you check out, which is consistent with the specifications of high-star hotels.
The hotel has a good location and can walk to UNSW. There is L2 light rail within a few hundred meters to CBD, and many bus lines can reach every corner of Sydney.
The room is comfortable, the transportation is convenient, and the price is low. This hotel is the first choice for students and parents in New South to land in Sydney.
