Hotels near Rancho Seco Recreational Area in Rancho Murieta

I had a great stay recently at this hotel after having less than desirable experiences with other hotels in the area. Upon entering I noticed they have signs saying they are remodeling, currently you couldn't tell they were other than by the signs. After speaking with the front desk, they mentioned they are starting with the rooms and then will focus on the lobby and other areas, so keep that in mind if that affects your decision. I was lucky enough to stay in one of the recently remodeled rooms. It was great. More outlets than anyone could ever use. The bed was extremely comfortable, the internet was fast and reliable, and the bathroom was nice with a nice shower head. Overall it was all I could ask for in a room. Upon check-in, I had also received a free drink and a free breakfast coupon. I am a gold member, so I don't know if this applies to everyone, but I usually don't receive this at other holiday inn stays. There is a restaurant/bar on-site which was great since I didn't want to have to travel for food. I used my free drink and ordered the special of the night which was the prime rib special. It was fantastic. Perfect in every way, very tasty. The food overall looked great that they were serving. It was a pleasant surprise since there didn't seem to be too many people dining there. I didn't have time for breakfast, but overall my stay was great. This will now be my go to hotel when I am in the area.

First let me say what a beautiful hotel they have. I was really looking forward to my stay. Being a Caldor fire victim I was really looking forward to a good night sleep. I lived in an apartment in Hollywood for 5 years so, I am use to dealing with noise. Also, I never complain (I try to understand and look at it from another point of view.) But, in this case I think it is necessary. Besides the horrible check in (Hillary) Who did not even know who the insurance company was. I got there early to check in possibly. Hillary said no rooms were ready yet. But keep checking. So, I kept checking in to see if a room was ready. I went in about three times. From 1:00 to 3:00. She said she would call me. I said to myself, Just be patient. She will call you. (She did not) and at 3:10 I went in. Now, there was a long line. That’s OK. I am sure she tried. When I got up to the desk, they told me she was at lunch. Then, I got stuck in a room connected to the maintenance room. I had to listen to a pump going all night. Cha cheee, cha chee, cha chee…..all night. Also, a pet friendly room that has a bed with gaps under it, that my cat got under. A small dog could get his head caught in there and die. I was told all the rooms were the same. Then, being woken up at 7:00 am by the staff having a party, making all kinds of noise, laughing and carrying on, with the laundry room open. I had to open my door and ask them to please close the door. There are guests sleeping!!! Common courtesy!!!!!!

In spite of me being given the runaround by American Airlines and missing my flight to DFW and subsequently my flight to Sacramento Home Towne Suite of Red Roof Rancho Cordova did give me a refund for one of the nights that I had booked and when speaking with them they were very polite and helpful

Lucky to have found vacancy during labor day weekend. Only gripe was during initial check in, we arrived by 1pm and was told none of the rooms were available yet. They told us to come back in an hour. We were beginning to worry whether or not we needed to cancel our online reservation. Thankfully after couple hours, rooms were ready. Right when we walked into our room, we could smell strong alcohol odor which means room was thoroughly disinfected. There were clean signs everywhere. Our double queen room had fridge and microwave, central AC and it cools the room very good despite being 108F outside today. Sheets were clean, bathroom clean. Room so far is quiet, can't tell when people return to their rooms during the night though. Edit: towards late night around 10pm, can hear guests coming back home/checking in. Can hear footsteps of large person above. Can also hear faint shower faucet noise. Noises went away by midnight. Simple breakfast items available in lobby 6am-10am

Hotel is very good . Room is big. There are varieties of foods for breakfast and food tastes good. Parking is $14 per day. Deposit is $50 per day. Rancho Cordova is close to Sacramento where is not much to see. I have stayed for three days and has no complaints.

Hotel location is convenient, breakfast is served, when the hotel information is found to be wrong (such as photos with combed beds are placed in a room without combed beds, so that the reservation can be misunderstood.)
