Raleigh Marriott City Center

My only major complaint was the bed. I was unable to sleep due to the bed being so uncomfortable. When I got up the next day my back and legs were stiff and caused a great deal of back and leg pain that lasted 2 days. It was truly one of the worst beds that I have ever laid in. However, the pillows were amazing. I actually laid the pillows out on the bed and tried using them to lay on. I was up all night tossing and turning as well as trying different things so that I could get some rest / sleep as I had a very long drive to make. One minor issue that we had on our floor (10th floor) was with the vending machines. The card reader on the drink machine stopped working. It was able to read my debit card, accept payment, and dispense a bottle of water with no problems. When I swiped my card a second time the card reader stopped working. It would not take my card as payment nor would it take my cash nor my change when I tried paying with change. We had to go to a different floor (at midnight) to purchase a second bottle of water. Like I said that was just a minor issue. Everything else was perfect. Very nice hotel, clean, new up to date furniture and lighting, ample outlets for charging electronics, and a friendly staff. I would have given this a 10/10 if they would have had a comfortable bed to sleep in. After having to lie in the most uncomfortable and extremely hard bed all night

Loved the valet service and with online check-in, it was a breeze. Up in the room in about three minutes.

The property itself is well maintained, nothing was broken or worn down and the a/c did pretty good. Really enjoyed the wings and drinks at Rye Bar. The bartender, (black guy wish I’d gotten his name), made great drinks and gave great service. Toilet seat in my room was dirty and they should really upgrade to walk in showers like most other hotels. No one likes to deal with shower curtains in hotel bathrooms and no one is running a bubble bath in that tiny tub. Those are all small issues. The major thing is $30 for overnight valet only to have the valet guy say, “Your car is just around the corner, you want me to get it?”. Like, duh! What am I paying $30 for? Anyway, these inconveniences wouldn’t stop me from staying again as it’s VERY convenient to be within walking distance of the things I like to do in Raleigh. Just noting small areas of opportunity.

Location was easy to find. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Staff was extremely friendly at check in and at the restaurant. I would definitely stay again.

Great downtown location. The only bummer is they stop serving food in the bar at 11pm

There is no reasonable parking option, the staff at the desk was not very friendly and with no rugs in the room, it was loud.
