Beautiful 200 year old restored property, very unique and comfortable

This guesthouse is located in a small village about a 10-15 minute drive from the historic town of Bragança. We had a very friendly welcome in this old stone house. The place has been tastefully renovated, preserving the original rustic basis while providing all the modern conveniences. Some of the rooms in this big house have been reserved as sort of museum rooms and demonstrate how living here was a hundred years ago or more. The only thing we would do differently next time would be to select a larger room. Ours was very “cozy” but we could have used a bit more space. Perhaps this was the only double room available when I booked—can’t remember. There was no air-conditioning in the room, but the ventilator was sufficient. This could possibly be an issue for some guests in periods of even hotter weather, although the stone walls are probably good at keeping the temps moderate. Breakfast was typical for guesthouses of this category in Portugal. A lounge room and garden are available with free coffee and tea anytime, along with some cold drinks or wine at a very reasonable charge. All in all it was a very pleasant and recommendable stay. We don't have much to complain about regarding this stay. We would probably book a larger room next time--ours was cozy but just a bit too small for our liking.
