Casa Carpedm

Midway between The Basilica and Independence Square, CarpeDM is a great choice for those on a budget wanting an authentic experience. Comfortable rooms, slightly odd ball but functional en suite, and best of all Fernanda. She is a lovely young lady who runs the site and does everything she can to make your Quito stay comfortable and worthwhile. She organised taxis, tours and transfers for us. If you stay you should do the free walking tour which takes in the main old town sites. Our guide Daniel was knowledgeable and good fun. Forget what you've heard about Ecuador, we felt safe throughout taking normal city centre precautions. Quito is well worth 2 or 3 days if you are en route to the Galapagos; Fernanda can also organise your tours there and is very passionate about the islands.

I was here twice, at the beginning and end of my trip. Felt like coming home. Fernanda is so welcoming and helpful. She always takes care that everybody will have the best experience. You will always find other guests to have a nice chat in the living room (if you want). The beds are very comfy. If I ever come back to Ecuador, I will definetly choose Casa Carpe DM again!

The tour was experiential and interesting, combining tastings of authentic things, It also combined activities between walks and made the tour diverse. Malena was charming and explained about every place we came to. Highly recommended for a first day in the city!

From pre trip to the time you leave (and you won’t want to by the way) you receive excellent service, which is not only timely but knowledgeable on all things Quito and across Ecuador. Thank you Fher. Casa CarpeDM is a one stop shop, but also very supportive of your other plans. They made sure my trip was as memorable as possible without the hassle. I stayed longer than I intended and would have continued on if I could. It really is home away from home. If you get the chance do their free walking tour. Malena was great. Don’t leave this walk off your itinerary!!

I had a great stay at casa carpeDM! Excellent location to all . Especially old town. Walk out make a right. . Ten minutes! Room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was full and tasty. Shower was hot. Pressure was strong . Tours can be done from the hotel and are cheaper than going into town! All the tours are listed at the hotel! You won’t miss out. Fernandia the host was outstanding in helping me plan my stay. I had a fantastic eight day cruise to the Galápagos thanks to her. Planned at the last minute. Ecuador is safe to travel. You can use Uber when you land from the airport. Also during your stay. So cheap you can’t go wrong and save your time. The U.S. does not have good things to say about Ecuador. I do. People are kind . It was safe to walk around with not problems. Thou Things quiet down after 8 pm. Fernandia I appreciate all that you did for me! Again thank you! Best wishes Jose.
