One of the beset Shangri-la stays in a long while. The service of the staff was top-notch from the start. They were ethusiastic and welcoming. They would go above and beyond to get things done and were friendlly at all times. The best thing is they would figure things out ahead for you so you don't have to think. Truly impeccable service. The Chinese Restaurant is also superb — one of the best Chinese restaurants we've had, anywhere!

The hotel is very unique in design and has a great location. It is within walking distance of the attractions and convenient to take a taxi. The butler at No. 63, Kong, was attentive and enthusiastic. He provided small gifts and told the performance times of the surrounding hotels. The front desk can also borrow Hanfu for taking photos. Although it was only taken inside the hotel, my parents also had a lot of fun. It is convenient to eat and order takeout around. If you really can't walk, you can take a tricycle.

The bathroom's under-mount sink had stubborn stains in the inner corner where it met the countertop. Since the mirror reflected these, it looked unappealing (I won't post photos, but they're noticeable upon inspection). The towels and bath sheets were new and clean, but they shed a lot of fine lint; it felt like I'd inhale the fibers when using them, which was quite unpleasant. Furthermore, regarding the carpet, I personally feel it should be minimized. In humid and hot conditions, carpets can harbor bacteria that simple vacuuming can't resolve effectively. Overall, it's an acceptable stay. Given that it was a busy holiday period, I think it's crucial to consider increasing the cleaning staff. The hotel hasn't undergone extensive renovation in about ten years, so regular maintenance is very important. It's perfectly fine for it to show its age, but it shouldn't look neglected or dirty. The hotel has a lot of character. A friend recommended it, and I would also recommend it to others for a visit. Oh, and the hotel is very close to the scenic area, which is extremely convenient.

During my trip to Qufu, Shandong, I stayed at the Zhige Hotel. The website said it opened in 2025, but upon arrival, I discovered it was a converted student dormitory, with a street across the street from the reception desk. The room was small, with the washbasin right at the entrance. There was no elevator, so the front desk staff helped us carry our suitcases up to the third floor. Upon entering, the room was immediately suffocated by a strong odor, and the staff quickly turned on the exhaust fan. Later, I discovered that across from the room was a factory building, with four large tanks, a chimney, and numerous pipes and wiring on the ground floor. The window in the room was secured with two ropes, allowing only a small opening, presumably to block out outside air. Guests staying at the hotel are advised not to book rooms on the east side. The breakfast was limited. The next morning, while we were having breakfast, they kept bringing us food. A plate of grapes arrived at 7:30 a.m., and they said there was watermelon, but by 7:45 a.m., after we finished our meal, it still hadn't arrived. We reported this to the front desk staff, who apologized and gave us a ruler. On our first night, around 8 PM, we called the front desk to request some clothes hangers (there were only two in the room). After a long wait, they still didn't arrive. The next morning, we told the front desk again, and they sent them to the room during housekeeping. When we returned at noon, they still hadn't arrived. We told the front desk again, and they went upstairs to get some hangers themselves. Also, there was a no-smoking sign in the room, but there was still an ashtray.
