Millenium Manuel Antonio Park and Beach

We were a bit nervous about this place following some recent reviews however we were contacted a few days before to confirm arrangements. The room did not reflect the pictures but was clean, the bed comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. We did not have a car but there was a small number of on site parking spaces although access looked tight. The pool was cleaned every evening and pool towels provided. Laundry service was available for $1 per kg. Breakfast was very good but not open until 7am so if going to park or checking out early had to be missed and we saw a number of people have to leave their tables early after ordering. A 6.45 start would have solved this. There was no safe deposit box and whilst toilet was in a en-suite room the shower was in the bedroom with a clear glass screen so not private. The room was stated as having a patio but this was frequently used by other guests who failed to move when we were at the hotel so was rarely available to us. A sign indicating this was for our rooms use would have avoided this upset. The hotel arranged our ongoing transport.

I spent there 2 nights, during last one I was woken up by the urine dropping next to my bed and splashing on my head and staff (see the picture of the ceiling). When I raised that point to the hotel service they proposed cleaning (I was leaving already) and said that it is not in their scope of responsibilities and this is Costa Rica ecosystem...so basically they do not care. I was not aware that holes in the roof are part of the ecosystem... luckily it was not raining, I assume it is also part of the ecosystem so before visiting this hotel secure your staff and take an umbrella. 1 star because cannot be less

The hotel is a total scam! We paid in full for a 2 br villa, at 5am the day of our arrival they advised us that there was a problem and they had to reaccomodate us in another place put that there were 2 rooms. The new place was a significant decrease in price and quality and only one room. Neither the manager nor the owner would talk to us and they refused to give us any compensation. They are booking people in air bnb’s that are half the price of what we paid and keeping the difference. In our case it is at least $1000.00. You also pay them directly so Booking will not help you.

The property claimed to have "Free on-site parking". I booked the property assuming this was correct. When I contacted them to inquire about it they changed their listing to "No parking available" and refused to give a refund. If you see this review on a site and they are still claiming to have "Free Parking", run away. They also tried to get me to pay a $100/day "deposit"

It is more like a hotel, as you get a rather good buffet breakfast, the beds are made every day, laundry service and nice hosts: Donna and Isaac. I would give it 4,5 star, but the only minus is that our room, which was upgraded by the way, thank you Donna! is at the street side, meaning that you will be woken up before 07:00 as you are only 50 meters from the park entrance and there is a parking spot nearby, so the tourists are being whistled in. The room itself though is great. It is big, 2 kingsize beds, big enough bathroom and a great shower. The complex has a very nice modern arty look to it, with nice colour combinations, nice little pool with beach-like-sunbeds in the water adjacent to the pool. What you would also like are the little monkeys, either in the trees or climbing up and down the posts. This is a perfect spot for park entrance, 50 meters, and your car is parked within the complex. Value for money is good.

The location is top (right next to the entrance of the national park) and our room was big (family room), very clean and the airconditioning worked very well. So we consider this hostel great value for money! Apart from that, Donna arranged all of our excursions (rafting and catamaran) and these where great. They also have a laundry service that is fast and good. We also appreciated the fact that Donna contacted us before arrival. It was high season when we were in Manuel Antonio (semana Santa) and without her warning us, we wouldn’t have had tickets to the national park. So thank you Donna!
