The place is a bit old now but it's expected with the price, which comes with a small buffet breakfast and parking at the front. It is close to the ski resort and staff is friendly. It has ten pin bowling right next to its own restaurant if you want something to do after hours. There is also a pub just across the road if you don't want to drive back to town. If we come back to ski we'll stay there again!
The room type with attached kitchen has a microwave, induction cooker, toaster, refrigerator, and a complete set of tableware and dishes; this room type also has a clothes drying rack. The front desk staff was super friendly and introduced us to nearby attractions, parking lots, and how to take the bus to and from the city center.

Your own self contained, private detached chalet with outside space - check!Own deck & BBQ - check!Clean, modern and setup with full kitchen - check!Come and join us at our secluded property overlooking the Shotover River. Situated up a 500m long driveway, you'll be staying at chalet positioned 15m away from the main house with its own parking & access. With a full open plan kitchen / lounge, bathroom and 2 bedrooms (1 x Queen, 1 x Bunk beds) + deck with views across to the Remarkables mountains and down to the Shotover RiverYou'll be set to enjoy a quiet environment surrounded by private woodland or venturing out to the local ski fields, lake or many other activities in and around Queenstown, which is only 7 minutes away by car.*** Notes - Due to the nature of the property being set on a steep incline nestled in a natural woodland there are no fenced in areas, therefore children should be supervised at all times outside of the chalet. On the plus side it means that natural wildlife like wild goats, quail, rabbits and even the odd mountain deer can be seen from time to time.Due to its seclusion and privacy, the property is situated up a shared un-sealed driveway. We therefore recommend that a car is essential to get to and from the property (500m from main road) that threads its way through the trees from the main road up to where you will be staying.During winter a 4WD capable vehicle is required in addition to carrying snow chains and being comfortable if you need to use them. ***About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 10:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.Children should be supervised outside..About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About events:No events allowed.
Location was honestly excellent and unbeatable, it’s right next to a bus stop where coaches pick you up for the Milford sound day tour. It’s also a short walk to the steamer wharf area, <5 mins. The girls at the reception were friendly. We had no issues with only being able to access the room after 2pm. The room itself was cosy. This seems to be one of the only rooms with a king bed and private toilet - it’s called Lucy’s room. However, it was really dusty - see the dust we cleaned off the window ledge. I am allergic to dust, so I had to wipe it down myself.. There is a pub nearby so music can be heard all the way till 3/4am on Saturday night, so not recommended if you are a light sleeper. We had a quieter night on Sunday though! If I could do it again, I would have topped up the $50-$60 to book Crowne Plaza, which was also in an equally prime spot.
The Hotel room and fittings are of high standard, especially the shower, however due to minimal amenities and only a vending machine for drinks, eating in your room becomes challenging.
The paid parking is provided by local authorities so is shared with general public and spaces go quickly at times.
The location is very convenient, near the bus stop and very close to walking to the cable car or to the lake. The house is old, so you can hear the sound of walking and bathing, and the sound insulation effect is very poor, but the public space is generally clean, the room is small, and the suitcase is difficult to open properly.
The location is across the street from the center of Queenstown, and the last slope is here. Facilities are all complete, kitchenware, dishwasher, washer dryer. The hotel's requirements for guests are relatively comprehensive. There is an error in the translation of the instructions. If you lose the key, the English version will pay 30 yuan. The Chinese version will pay 50 yuan.
Going out from the side door is the downtown area of Queenstown, which is very convenient. And the location is at the entrance to Queenstown, so you don't have to go through the urban traffic jam to go to the airport or Arrow town. There is nothing to say about the location.
The disadvantage is that there are kitchen and tableware but no pepper, salt and salad oil. I asked the counter and the reply was to go to the supermarket to buy it by myself. Also the oven in the room was malfunctioning and couldn't be used.
The service attitude is good. It was very hot on the day we arrived, but the hotels and apartments in Queenstown have no air-conditioning, only electric fans (super noisy), and there is only one, so I asked by phone to borrow another fan, and I was very polite. Look inside the counter (the counter is closed).
Considering the overall location and cp value is very good, but it would be better if the equipment can be strengthened.
A great experience for a female solo traveler. I
Pros
I shared a female dorm with three other women and had a great time getting to know those coming in and out. The shared bathroom was always clean (cleaned every day).
The communal kitchen is large and well-organised. You can make use of condiments that get left behind. As it was still cold, there are always fires burning both in reception and the common room. It makes the atmosphere very cosy.
The best service I got was from their information desk, which is located in the reception area. As I didn't have a credit card and businesses like Snowbiz in town don't accept cash, I was able to pay for ski passes and rental by making a booking at the service desk (they have a card machine and also accept cash).
Cons
This side of the hostel where my room was located, just experiences a lot of noise, as there are bars down below, despite the sliding door being sound-proof. Not all the reading lamps for each bed work and also need to be fixed. The shower leaked a lot of water, as the glass door doesn't properly close.
Overall though, a great stay and value for money. You do save on accommodation, as QT is an expensive town to visit.
