Stayed here for 1 night at the end of July, and had a very warm welcome on arrival after a 3 hour drive. We were in room 2 on the top floor with a lovely view over the rooftops to the bridges. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, everything we needed for our stay. Given keys and shown the side door to exit once the cafe was closed. Explored around south Queensferry and visited the Falkirk wheel and The Kelpies which were amazing after dark. Breakfast the next day was fresh, hot and very tasty. Refills of tea/coffee as required. All staff were very friendly, we met 4 during our stay. I would definitely return, reasonably priced and perfect for our needs.

I don't stop eating mid breakfast but have to say this was one of the freshest, tastiest breakfast I have had in a while and all under a tenor. Just lovely start to the day. Plus lovely staff. Can't recommend enough

Attending wedding @ Orocco Pier & decided to book here after reading the reviews ... Wish I had booked Orocco Pier instead. Room on top floor was less than basic, flies everywhere due to every window being open, felt like I was in Coronation Street with beautiful view of ... Rooftops ... Big hole in leather chair & toilet very cramped ... Went for breakfast which I couldn't eat 😵‍💫 4 pieces of hard bacon stacked on top of each other that I could've used as a doorstop, couldn't get my fork into my sausage & egg burnt, asked for brown toast received white ... Couldn't leave quick enough & won't be back 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

We were aiming to visit the Brew Café in South Queensferry but, despite Google saying that it was open, in fact it was closed. We strolled along the high street to The Little Bakery and having walked through the door, we did an immediate U turn. The orientation of this café should have been perfect. Corner location, windows on 2 sides, but it was just claustrophobic. So where to go? We strolled back along the high street and saw, up some stone steps, a small café on the raised pavement. The Ravenous Beastie has rooms above the small café; the café appears a bit cramped and a bit old school. Basic for want of a better word. I thought we were in for a milky coffee and the cakes looked slightly old fashioned. I was a bit rude; I asked for an espresso with a bit of thick foam on top. I was corrected and told that I was really after a macchiato. Yes please was my response. Well …. The macchiato was excellent. There was a deep depth of flavour in the coffee and the foam sat thick and proud above the glorious black treat. We had ordered a cake. A carrot cake, not a cinnamon bun because they didn’t have one. I cringed when it arrived and poked my fork into the rectangle shaped “cake” {it looked more like a tray bake than a cake}. I slowly lifted the substance to my mouth and ….. what a surprise. It was really quite good. The texture was dense, even tight, the icing on top added to the lushness of the bake. There were walnuts, and a taste of brown sugar, ginger, nutmeg and carrots. I was going to eat less than half, just to show willingness. But in the end, I took more than my share. What a little gem this café was. Shall I return? Without a doubt.

The food was tasty enough. Unfortunately it was brought to our table by a monosyllabic young man whose apparent priority was to get back behind the counter to check his 'phone and have a chat with the other staff. As a result, no further table service! I had been pleased to find the cafe empty when we arrived, but by the time we left I thought the poor service explained why.

South Queensferry as a place to visit and stay overnight is a first for me. All too often Edinburgh City has been the default. Not from now. I loved the location, the name of the hotel, the beautiful, spotless comfortable room, the excellent quality of the food and last but not least the friendly helpful staff. Thank you for the relaxing experience.

This is just a review of the cafe. Not the hotel. First stop en route up to the Highlands. We LOVE South Queensferry so decided to stop off there for a quick late lunch. The first cafe we came across was full and the Beastie was the next we encountered. It is tiny so we didn't think we would get a table but we were lucky. Friendly welcome. The waitress explained that they had run out of a couple of things on the already short menu but that was understandable at 2.30. The Husband couldn't resist teasing about the lack of Cullen Skink! All taken on good part. We chose Goat's Cheese Pannini and enjoyed them very much. Friendly, quick, efficient, tasty. All good. Thank you.,

Got a cold sandwich from here yesterday, bread was completely stale and I ended up on the toilet all night. Wouldn't be surprised if other ingredients were less than fresh. Outrageous prices for the quality of the food. Having read the responses to other 1* reviews I'm expecting an essay from the angry owner.

Family breakfast in the sunshine. Friendly and efficient service, delicious food, good coffee, and in the beautiful South Queensferry Main Street . Offered water for our thirsty dog and put tables together to accommodate 5 of us. And the beasties watching over us were amazing. Thank you.
