Quanzhou Zhixing Wujie Homestay

This was the worst hotel stay ever. Arrived in the night and couldn’t enter because no one was at the reception. Had to wait outside in the rain until a guest saw us and opened for us. First thing that greeted us was a cockroach and whole place was dark. When we got our rooms, we were horrified. The courtyard room is not an apartment to your whole family. Other than the rooms, everything else is shared with other guests. Don’t be mistaken for the photos. In the “living room” of our private apartment, there is an altar with incense constantly burning. While we respect other religions, the whole point of me booking me own apartment was to have my own space? This was not declared in the booking. Rooms were FULL of mosquitos. There was a single room in the Courtyard “apartment” that we were not allowed to do no. 2…….even if you are a paying guest. Just cos they didn’t upgrade. There were water marks, mould everywhere. It was very late that night and this made my family had a very uncomfortable stay. The staff offered me to go upstairs to check out another room but we were really tired from our flight. But she kept insisting at 11pm+ and mosquitos kept flying into our room while she insisted to keep the door open to convince us. The following night, they put up mosquito coils EVERYWHERE. The smell and the altar incense combined was just unpleasant, we couldn't sleep well. And to top it all off, there was a HUGE cockroach that came out from our beds while we were sleeping. That woke us all up. We gave our feedback to the staff and at the counter, we noticed that they have placed CCTVs in the common areas. However, the CCTVs are pointing towards the room. If we hadn't known or draw our curtains, whatever you were doing in the room would have been recorded on the CCTV. This is a horrible place and for the price, you can go to a nice hotel near Wanda Plaza instead. My relatives who were locals were shocked that we paid for this. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. we We paid $166 usd per night, I showed the staff and asked if she would pay this money to stay here. She couldn't answer and was embarrassed....cos she wouldn't too.
