This resort was once an amazing place, famous for its fishing and its clientele. It’s now run down with a need of upgrades and improvements. The setting is beautiful, the views fantastic, but the neglect is evident everywhere. The two bedroom house was lovely but the beds uncomfortable. We cooked some delicious meals and the dining room afforded us wonderful views, including humpback whales one morning. The restaurant served only breakfast. We heard rumours that there might be a new owner. Let’s hope so because the current owner has allowed this place and others he owns to deteriorate badly.

As noted by others this is a great location in the ocean. We have stayed here for years and have always enjoyed ourselves. However with the new owners things have gone straight downhill. No restaurant, no spa, no fishing charters and they make you sign a form that you won’t cook in the room. So you either have to bring in precooked food or go out and drive the treacherous road. This resort now feels like a ghost town, not sure if we will ever be back. The large new survey post in the front appears to indicate an upcoming subdivision is imminent .

Restaurant was out of order, Sushi restaurant apparently closed years ago; no spa available. No breakfast possible. Water not drinkable. Reception closed between 9-18. Felt a bit strange. Pretty location. Resort needs maintance and management that brings the schwung back.

The location is excellent. Apparently the best on the island. That’s what you pay for. The rest is so so. We stayed for two nights. Breakfast was a sad affair. A very poor “continental” with no cooked options. We had booked dinner for the second night but cancelled after the breakfast experience. Hint guys : if you can’t put on a decent breakfast don’t expect too many dinner bookings.

We were there with 13 family members for a function on the island. The property is beautiful, right on the water. Our room was very cozy. Good bed and a nice bathroom. The dining room pictures were showing a very nice Dining room with flowers, white tablecloths etc. Not at all what we got. You expect a place like this to have good food and service! Some of our group were looking for a nice dinner. What they got was not really acceptable. You can get a better burger in any greasy spoon place No table cloths, one waitress, not at all what's advertised. When we came back from our function around 9 pm. The parking lot all the way to the rooms was pitch black. Lucky we had cellphones with us to see where we were walking without breaking a leg. Apparently they are closing in a few days which is no excuse. Some of our group were restaurant and inn owners from Switzerland and if it would not have been for the Scenery the stay would not have been anything good. Incidentally the rates were high season rates and did not reflect the the poor dining room service. Also the included breakfast was served in a cardboard box piled up on a table. It was ok for a place up in the mountains were you would take a box lunch. My beef is tell the customer what to expect and don't put false pictures in the advertisement period.

At the last minute the Resort cancelled stays for us and many others attending a wedding on Quadra Island throwing the whole affair into disarray and creating unnecessary stress for multiple parties, potentially ruining the wedding. And why? The bogus reason they gave was they didn't have enough occupancy - yet there were only a couple of rooms still open just prior to the cancellation. Now we're paying more (last minute) for accommodation that isn't even on Quadra meaning the whole event will have to end early to avoid being most of the guests being trapped when Ferry service stops. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Book here at your own risk!

We stayed 2 nights and had been told it was lodge style which is correct and it is 3 star. Positives are :- pleasant staff /looks out to water/bathroom ok ( but a bit out of date). Negatives :- place was closing for the season in a week or two. Restaurant /bar closed from8pm. Breakfast was a pack up To take out ( we didn’t bother as pastries and a boiled egg did not appeal to us). Furnishing looked voile and dated - dark brown sofa and dark brown carpet. Windows were so old the double glazing had failed and were “misted” . Balcony had 2 old Plastic chairs and table and had been patched with plywood. Balcony door wouldnt lock ( no safe either) . Room was noisy - could hear everyone moving around in neighbouring rooms. Bed was firm but like rest of Place looked old and uninviting To call it a resort is a stretch to say the least but in its prime I imagine it was lovely.

This property was disappointing. It’s obvious that the ownership has not invested in the hotel for far too long. The carpets are old and musty. The room is dank and the bathroom is ancient. The breakfast they provide is in a styrofoam container and consists of a stale chocolate muffin and a boiled egg. The deck off the room was clearly rotted so they screwed a sheet of plywood on top. There are no amenities, no toiletries, no water equipment. Half the lights were burned out. The mattress and pillows were ancient. What a shame as it’s such a beautiful location and has great potential but it’s simply been left to literally rot.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at April Point. We had a room in the cabins facing Vancouver Island - it was clean, comfortable and a great location (with a lovely partially shaded field in front overlooking the water). We didn't eat at the restaurant and the breakfast was very basic. The staff were very helpful. It's a country resort and, in terms of facilities, is not on par with resorts in places like Whistler but we thought it was wonderful!
