Best Hotels near Xutu Tower, Qrendi

A charming, small hotel in a beautiful and unique, historic location in Mdina at the centre of the island. The staff were lovely and helpful. Our room had a great sized bedroom, leading to a bathroom suite. There was a staircase leading to a mezzanine level with sofa, and a balcony with a hot tub where we enjoyed spectacular views of the island. The doorway to the balcony was low but not a problem. The breakfast was plentiful with pristine linens and friendly staff. The trattoria restaurant was closed during our visit and we did not dine at the Michelin starred restaurant (except for breakfast). There are some highly ranked restaurants in nearby Rabat, just a short walk away, which we enjoyed visiting very much. Overall, this is a classy and quiet hotel and we felt pleased that we decided to stay. Valletta and other coastal spots are easily reachable by bus or taxi (Uber /Bolt operate too).

The hotel is so beautiful, the breakfast in the restaurant is very good, the service is first-class, and there is also an Asian restaurant. The British butlers all speak English. Great experience for traveling. The hotel has a big swimming pool. There is also an outdoor restaurant

Stayed for 7 nights in a deluxe room on 10th floor. Check in was easy and very efficient. Room was large with a decent balcony. Bathroom had separate shower and bath. Not very many electric points and no USB charging points. Overall the room was good but in need of modernising. We had an issue with knocking from the water pipes ( not in our room) for our whole stay. Breakfast was plentiful, but limited options for vegetarian and even less for vegan choice. Pool area was great, with lots of loungers and shaded areas. Staffing at the pool bar seemed to be a bit hit or miss, one day 6 staff, the next day 2. Service at the hotel bar was also an issue on a few occaisions, mainly when there were conference groups. The location of the hotel was great, but not for those who would struggle with stairs. Overall great location, but faded granduer and some staffing issues

Nice and modern hotel. Nice and good location right on the promenade. Only downsides were: - poor cleaning of the room - restaurant for breakfast too small for the number of people who came for breakfast and too few staff and too little variety in breakfast

NEVER AGAING IN THIS HOTEL! I had booked this hotel from 21st to 25th of june for 2 persons. We paid the deposit one month before we came for our room. We came for wedding of our dear friends same as the other unknown people from group that came from Serbia. Two days after we came the hotel, staff assigned some lady into our room WITHOUT asking for our permission. Offcourse I went on the reception immediately to ask for help and I ask to speak with menager Alexio Borg, employers told they can’t do anything about my problem and the manager never show up to fix this problem. So, me and my friend were in that room with unknown lady for 2 days. As me and my frined’s checkout date was on the June 25th, and that lady Gordana’s checkout was on the June 26th, one day later, we agreed to leave our belongings in the room until we leave to the airport later in the evening. However, without informing us, the cleaning staff packed our personal belongings, (in the room were personals things, money, jewelry) into large garbage bags and left them at the reception. The staff even yelled at us, questioning why we hadn't packed our things yet, again without any warning. Gordana was then moved to a smaller room, again without any prior notice. This situation left us feeling displeased and frustrated. In the end, even though the initial agreement was for the price to remain the same, the room was charged at a higher rate for Gordana. At the end, friend who is living there went to speak with menager Alexio, and he insulted her based on her Serbian nationality,threatened and curse her, and slamed the door into her face. The worst experience ever!!

This hotel is not where it needs to be to meet its 4 star standard … after arriving from a very early flight with 2 young children our room was not ready , frustrating but it happens. we then got given a room to get changed in , a baby changing room for 2 adults , 2 kids and 4 suitcases … stressful and hot. We then asked where the restaurants are located so the children could eat to be told our all inclusive package does not start till 3pm . After expressing our frustration we then got offered lunch in the buffet. more confusion when we got there as someone else had used our room number so we waited longer for this to be resolved. even then our room was not ready and when it finally was the floor was soaking and my daughter slipped and hurt herself. we waited for our cases but they never came , 3 hours later they were then delivered. the light on our balcony still does not work (after mentioning this 3 times to reception). the animation team do there best but with there only being two team members it is impossible for them work miracles. there are no children’s shows or kids clubs as such just the odd activity and mini disco at 5pm. no stage area etc. the buffet is repetitive at both breakfast and lunch. we are still here and have enjoyed the ombré restaurant as the food is cooked to order and really nice as are the drinks. The cocktails and drinks are proper , no expense spared on them. the cranes are not great and neither is the noise. our balcony literally has one right in front of us. overall the hotel processes are disconnected and nothing really gets done to correct issues. the staff are doing their best but this is not what we expected from this brand.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. Me and my husband were guests of Solana hotel and Spa for the past week and i have to say that our experience was incredible. Regarding accommodation we had a decent room which was always properly cleaned, the only problem that we faced was the thin walls from which we could hear everything going from other rooms. Regarding the food and beverage department, we had various of restaurants to choose such as the Tosca, Prickly Pear, Belini and Top Deck, where we always had a nice dining experience served by polite and kind staff, however a person who left us an impeccable impression was Sara. She always greeted us with a smile, made us amazing cocktails which shows that she is quite good at her job, we enjoyed talking to her. Overall we are satisfied with our stay in the hotel, and would definitely recommend it to others!!!

This is the second time I have stayed at this very special boutique hotel. The hotel is run extremely well with the staff being friendly and efficient, the food was absolutely delicious and our bed was extremely comfortable with beautifully soft pillows. My one criticism is that there were far too many people visiting the hotel who were not residents. On the Saturday and Sunday it was impossible to get a sun bed around the swimming pool and the guests were extremely noisy. One woman who brought a group of friends had won a day at the hotel. For two hours the group conducted a very loud three way conversation in the pool shouting at the top of their voices and had no respect for the hotel residents at all. This sort of behaviour in a small boutique hotel is unacceptable and not what we expected. Sadly due to the above we probably won’t be coming back. I thought I had found a quiet little gem in the middle of Malta, but it has become so noisy and crowded that it spoilt our weekend.

Decided to book here for a night because of nearby construction work near our holiday rental. The hotel is a little unassuming from the outside, but inside it was evident that the hotel has gone through some redevelopment from previous years as reception and the lobby was small but very modern. The receptionist was friendly and even show us to our room. We were based on the first floor on a basement level room with a double bed. However considering the fact that things were last minute,we didn’t complain too much and we got a decent night sleep . The room was clean and fairly stylish and air con worked properly too. Only downside was no coffee making facilities in room. However, coffee and water was free in the lobby all day, alongside free biscuits. The inside pool is small, but styled well into the bottom of the cave cellar and perfect for a dip. We would have booked a slot in the jacuzzi if we had more time. The breakfast was pretty simple buffet continental, but still offered hot options and cold as well as juice and coffee. Overall, a fairly good experience both with atmosphere and service.
