My wife and I couldn't find direct train tickets from Shandong to Liaoning (home) at the end of the recent 'Golden Week' holiday. We found a way back via Shanhaiguan and were looking forward to visiting this interesting city. Wanting to spend the last of our 6 day / 5 night trip in a great hotel, I chose the Shanhaiguan Fulinmen. This turned out to be one of the worst parts of our time in this city, unfortunately. It took forever for the reception to find us a room; it was the longest check-in time we've experienced in China but we were the only ones waiting for a room at that time (evening). We were given the smallest room on the floor (5001), as can be seen in the photo I've attached. We were happy to have a queen bed but would have accepted one with two single beds if it were larger and with a nice view. I don't remember seeing when booking that the room would be so small and when I look at my booking now I don't see 20 meters squared or whatever it was, either. Deceptive marketing! Our view was of a 4G/5G tower and not much else. Guests were staying on the same floor for a wedding party and they were extremely noisy!!! I made a video of what we could hear from inside our room. A hotel that claims to be luxurious should not allow guests to disturb other guests. They should have extra security during times of peak occupancy! The breakfast buffet was good, but there was no tea or coffee--not acceptable for the price we paid. People want to be able to leave the hotel and explore the city after eating breakfast and having tea/coffee--they don't want to go back to their hotel room to lose time using the two free but low quality teabags. We would like to visit Shanhaiguan again one day but we will not choose this hotel again--it's not worth the price. Also, when checking out one of the receptionists tried to convince me to give a 5-star rating on a digital device. I explained what we were unhappy with and she replied that they're aiming for only 5 stars (thus, even 3 or 4 are unacceptable for their management). This desire of their management to coerce guests into being untruthful has fueled me to spend the time required to write about our experience here. I understand that national holidays cause chaos for hotel staff, but they could have done better. We experienced much better service in all of the other hotels where we stayed a few days beforehand in Shandong province.

It was really good hotel. They don’t deserve 3 star. In my perspective cleaning was good. The amenities was the bestest thing.

View from the window is disgusting, a lot of garbage on the streets out there, box houses, feels like a ghetto. Working table and some surfaces were full of dust. At the same time the staff is very polite. There were some problems at checin with passports verification, and room key become disabled at some point. So staff helped with these. Breakfast was ok, not strong varied, but tasty and hearthy. At night main entrance is closed, you'll need to use sideway entrance (follow near 24/7 label)

Convenient location near the ancient town. The bed was comfortable and the shower nice and qarm. Friendly staff.

We arrived before check in time and they were happy to check us in early, the staff were super friendly! No English but they tried their best to communicate with us. The location is about a ten minute walk to the ancient town, 5 minute drive to the train station and about 5/10 minute drive to the nearest beach. Would definitely recommend for any travels.

Shanhaiguan Fulinmen Hotel is located near the west gate of Shanhaiguan Scenic Area, facing the city wall. The hotel's restaurant is very good, and it should be open to the public for catering services. The dishes are rich and of high quality, and are worth tasting.

Facilities: basic standard. This price is already cost-effective. I paid 590 for three nights. Check-in on September 8, 2024. Hygiene: We are also satisfied Environment: It is very close to the ancient town. It is convenient to go to the surrounding area for dinner and breakfast. There are fried rice, noodles, spicy hot pot, night market, KFC, and bakery. Take a taxi (choose a ride) to Jiaoshan Great Wall, which is about 11 yuan for about 5 kilometers. It is difficult to take a taxi without adding a fare on the return trip, so we walked back. Going to Lao Ma Tou is in the opposite direction of Jiaoshan Great Wall, so this hotel is probably between these two attractions. Service: very good.

The service is cordial and friendly, greetings with a smile and providing tourist information. The hotel has a beautiful appearance. The room they upgraded for me is spacious and comfortable, hygienic and clean, and has complete facilities. The view outside the window overlooks the Yuansi Building in Shanhaiguan, which makes me feel nostalgic! The hotel is within walking distance of Shanhaiguan, and the fresh food in the hotel is even more delicious! Highly recommended accommodation! Thank you ♥

The hotel is more than 400 meters away from the west gate of the ancient city of Tianxia Diyiguan. It is also a large hotel close to the ancient city. However, the sanitary facilities in the room are relatively old and the cost performance is not high. The breakfast tastes good. The hotel mainly provides catering. The hotpot for lunch in the hotel is more affordable and the quantity is large. Convenient parking

The hotel is close to the ancient city of Shanhaiguan, and it is convenient to go to the scenic spot. There are many restaurants nearby, and the hotel's restaurant is also famous, which is convenient for eating. The parking lot of the guest room department is separate from the parking lot of the restaurant department and is managed by several security guards. Parking is convenient and safe, and it creates a quiet environment for the guest room department. The guest room is large, the equipment is easy to use, and the hygiene is good. However, living on the 5th floor, the strong smell of kitchen fumes drifted into the room at mealtime, which was very unpleasant, so I had to close the windows tightly. The breakfast was good.

The room is really spacious, the service is friendly, it is very close to the ancient city, not far from the past, the hotel restaurant is on the ground floor, there are also restaurants around, the facilities are complete, the hygiene is OK, the bed should be updated, the shower gel bottle is too old and inconvenient to use.

Good value for money, high cost performance: The service of this hotel is very good  Especially the security guards helped us direct the car to park. The hotel is the leader of local catering, so the breakfast is very OK.
