Qingdao Airport Fuhua Hotel (Hong Kong Middle Road May Fourth Square)

Terrible experience – even for a budget hotel I travel often and am used to staying in budget hotels, so I don’t expect luxury — but this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had, especially considering the price I paid (even with the discounted room). Let’s start with the only good points: the staff was friendly, the location is convenient, and the bed was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The cleanliness was appalling: there were shrimp in the hallway, and the towels smelled absolutely disgusting — genuinely unusable. The noise levels were unbearable: the rooms are very poorly soundproofed, and people (including staff) were shouting in the hallways, with kids running and screaming even in the middle of the night. Sleeping was nearly impossible. The room itself was misrepresented. It was advertised as having a “window with a view,” but in reality, there was a tiny window facing the corridor, offering zero natural light. It felt claustrophobic and misleading. When I tried to ask for some form of compensation, I was told I should have reported the issue earlier — but that’s impossible when no one at the front desk speaks English. Communication was simply not an option. If you’re considering a cheap place to stay: you can find much better than this for the same price. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone — even for just one night.

the location was perfect—very close to the 4 May Square and shopping malls which made it super convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in smooth and welcoming. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the price was reasonable for what you get. Highly Recommended.
