We read the reviews on this hotel, which is formally the Sun hotel, this has been taken over by another and is in the process of being renovated (so we were told) The reviews were terrible but we went as we needed the break. On arrival, our holiday provider had not booked a room (Love Holidays) after 2 half hours it was sorted. All due to the hotel changing their name and management. However the guy on reception was wonderful and the manager and it all got sorted. Room was spacious but a few problems, no plugs, dirty, safe was locked, no coat hangers. All sorted instantly but the dirty room. I gave it a quick wipe over, however there were hairs from previous occupier made me cringe. Hotel - tired but under renovation and more staff than occupants. there was approx 20 of us in a massive hotel. gardens kept lovely, shame about the internal housekeeping. We watched every day to see if a dirty plate was removed from the corridor, still there when we left. Needs a lot of work to bring it up to standard. Im sure it was a lovely hotel in its day. Cleaners - they had nothing to do but rooms were disgusting, all guests complained. Food. - due to only a few guests only one of the restaurants were open. Where our wonderful host Sammi looked after everyone. Food was cold, i complained so they did try to heat it up. choice was very limited, just not what you expect from a rated hotel. The restaurant staff tried their best. Most didnt understand us so that became a problem sometimes. But we have to give the star of the hotel to Sammi. Who really did try his best to accommodate All inclusive - well thats a joke. at one point there was no alcohol but Gin, only Coke. that was the choice. Worst all inclusive ive ever encountered. We dont drink much but hey there wasnt even a choice of soft drinks. No real menu choices. Cold food. Lack of staff understanding. Dirty I could say lots more and complain lots more but in all it was not a nice place to be. It will be interesting to see if improvements will be made as they kept telling me. If they dont - Do not go. Luckily there were local restaurants nearby to get food but why should i be spending my money when i paid for all inclusive. I have to add they listened to my comments and complaints while we were there. They did try their best to improve during our stay. But a lot of work to do to get this hotel anywhere near standard, I met the owner and the manager, they should have kept hotel closed during renovations.
