Parrotel Lagoon Waterpark Resort

I write this review giving it 1 star but it didn't ruin our holiday. If you are English looking to book this place hopefully this will help. We went as a family of 5. We have visited Egypt before so we know that most resorts are a little rough around the edges. We came here purely as a relaxing by the pool - kids having fun holiday as we’ve done the whole pyramids and major Egypt trips before. The rooms - 2/5* We were located above reception (2 rooms) and both rooms next to each other perfect our request was met. The overall room was spacious but tired. The bathrooms need completely refurbing. They are disgusting! In our 2 week stay our rooms were only actually cleaned twice including bedding changed. Most days was an evening knock on the door of what do you need (water, toilet roll, towels etc). The food - 3/5* The bit that has worried most English people and same for us reading previous reviews. They’ve obviously tried to improve things vastly in this area and there’s a wide range of different food and most of it was pretty nice. Yes, it is very much the same everyday but that’s most all inclusive holidays. There is a separate English restaurant (although not just allowing English in??) if you walk past the main lagoon restaurant and follow it around the corner it’s tucked away there. The cleanliness of the place is just a joke - they never move tables and chairs to clean it properly and you are constantly attacked by flys whilst you eat which really grates on you. The staff - 4/5* Beshol serving us drinks around the pool -great guy, fantastic work! Abdul and Ali the lifeguards doing their job and entertaining the children too. The entertainment team do there best to keep spirits around the pool but you have to constantly listen to them trying to get the music system to work properly everyday. Most of the staff we came across went above and beyond so you can’t fault that. The staff I didn’t like is the ones who constantly try and sell you stuff at the poolside and my NO! Became more abrupt as the holiday went on. The lady harassing everyone for a massage I told not to touch me without my permission in an obvious I’ve started a massage so I’ll charge you ploy. The aqua park - 0* We went once. There was only 3/4 floats for each slide causing huge queues …. Well not queues just a mad scramble to snatch the float to go on next. Boiling hot heat waiting for others to just push your children out of the way. One floaty came down covered in human poo. The lifeguards just washed it off and continued as if this was normal. We were in the aqua park for literally 15 minutes before leaving back to the main pool. My 9 and 10 year old said the only good bit of the aqua park was the golf cart ride there and back. Public toilets - 0* Wow wow wow - poo all over the floor, walls, toilets absolutely disgusting again. Luckily our rooms were the same distance walk as the public toilets there so we only ever went back to the rooms when needed after

Absolutely lovely place to stay!! We came as a deaf family, lovely and easy to communicate with staff. The rooms were basic but good. Especially the lifeguard called Mohammed, he greeted us everyday at the pool with high fives and reserved our beds, making sure our kids were safe and happy in the pool. Couldn’t ask for a better lifeguard !!
