If you want a busy, noisy hotel in the middle of a resort, this is not a hotel for you. If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday with minimal noise and the best staff then this is definitely the hotel for you. We usually book adult only hotels but comparing price and reviews chose to take a risk this year, and it paid off. The rooms are large, cleaned every day and the beds and pillows are more comfortable than much pricier hotels. Plenty of pool side sunbeds but the beach looked super busy with people reserving sunbeds from 6am. A small gym which got quite busy and a very nice spa. A main restaurant and also a smaller beach side restaurant which was much quieter and lovely in the evenings. We ate at the Italian restaurant and the Egyptian and both were excellent. Drinks were ok but we don’t drink much alcohol so couldn’t really comment on the quality, we thought the drinks were lovely! The staff absolutely make this hotel and nothing is too much trouble. A problem with the shower was fixed immediately and a mosquito plug brought to the room as soon as I mentioned they were a problem. Swam with sea turtles most days and only had to walk and swim 10 mins from the room. Would definitely go back if we were looking at Hurghada. I’ve left the food until last as I’ve seen mixed comments on reviwrs. Our experience was that the food was excellent, huge amount of choice, well cooked and not left out for any length of time. The bread lady was awesome! She packed bread for us to take home! Lots of Egyptian and international dishes and plenty of good fresh fruit and veggies.

The Animation Show „African Show“ with Matthiew was great!! The beach was clean and the stuff very friendly- I can recommend it! Sol Y Mar is a great place for couples, friends and families, there is a nice offer concerning different activities, spa and food.

Best beach ever. Clean, plenty of comforts, no resorts near us. The room was really big, spacious and clean. The entire staff is insanely friendly, respectful, always smiling and helpful. Lots of activities to do as spa, snorkeling, visiting islands, safari, photoshoots, water sports, etc. The only thing that I can complain about is the wi-fi. No wi-fi in the rooms that is the most useful place to have it. When you do have wi-fi on the lobby, at the square or whatever place, it comes and goes constantly, you need to login over and over again and it's really slow.

Myself and my husband Stayed here for 2 weeks the beginning of May. We was in room 4052, which was in the middle of the resort, so a perfect location. Everyone at this resort literally went above and beyond to please you. Yes the animation is a bit dated, but we don’t bother with the entertainment anyway. Also the resort is 45 mins from Hurghada, again we knew this when we booked, so this wasn’t a problem either. The food was beautiful, you would have to be super fussy not to find anything😊the room was a bit dated, but really clean, never saw a bug the whole 2 weeks we was there (another bonus) The staff are what make this resort perfect, from the cleaners, waiters,bar staff, right up to management, all of them are polite and accommodating. We travel regularly, all over Europe and the Caribbean, and for us, we got what we paid for. Yes they could be a few tweaks here and there. But for a 4 star resort, it’s bang on 😃we would deffo return in the future. Plus the rosè and white wine was divine 😉

An Honest Holiday Review After reading numerous 5-star reviews, my expectations were high, but the reality fell a bit short. The reception team didn't seem very welcoming or interested in our concerns when they informed us that the 2-room family room advertised by Tui was actually two connecting rooms. This meant our kids, aged 4, 5, and 12, would be in a separate room connected to ours. Additionally, upon arrival, we found a bed missing in our room, and the staff attempted to bring in a basic pull-out bed instead of a proper one. The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean and well maintained throughout our stay. The food at the various restaurants was decent but somewhat repetitive, and unfortunately, we all fell ill on the third day, leading to concerns about the food for the rest of our stay. This made us hesitant to try different dishes, despite the many restaurant options available throughout the hotel. I had read on TripAdvisor about the tap water being filtered and put into bottles, which made me uneasy. After informing the managers about our illness and water concerns, they arranged for bottled water to be delivered to our room daily. When we requested a late check-out, the man on reception was initially rude and seemed more focused on charging us for two rooms due to the family room being connecting. It took the intervention of a manager and Tui representative to resolve the issue, but the lack of customer care was noticeable along with the sheer disappointment in the mans facial expressions when he’s request was overturned. The beach was crowded, but the sea was lovely, and the kids enjoyed playing there. The pools were nice but very cold, as none of them were heated. The pool service from the staff, however, was fantastic and a highlight of the hotel. The animation team provided entertaining activities on some days but were lacking on others. The pink pool party and fruit beach party were particularly enjoyable for the kids. The on-site shop was disappointing, charging everything in euros and refusing to convert prices for English Pound or USD. This led to a frustrating argument with the shopkeeper. Overall, it was a decent holiday with some highs and lows, but the fact that the whole family fell ill for over a week definitely overshadowed our experience.

I'm currently staying at Solymar, and everything is excellent. Our room is very spacious, and the balcony is almost as big as the room. Beds are very comfortable, and cleanliness is 10/10. The food is also great, there are more than enough choices for everyone's liking, and you can snack throughout the day. Beach is beautiful, and the water is very clear. I only wish it was a little less crowded, as it's hard to get a sunbed if you don't get up at 7am. All in all a great experience.

Really nice hotel! Great food, service, beach, the pool. Beds are comfortable, air conditioning is excellent. We had a problem with electricity in our room, but the guy who was cleaning our room fixed it quickly. And also general manager came to apologise, for that😄 Best thing i saw in this hotel was a lady who was baking fresh pita bread, outside of the Remal beach restauran! Such an experience! If you gonna have coctails on the beach, make sure to ask for Almaza Colada! ❤️

The stay was absolutely amazing. We stayed in Room 1243 for the first week of May 2024. Yes this place is 4 Star but the service far better than 5 Star places that we have stayed in with regards to service, housekeeping and kids club. In particular, I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the restaurant manager Mahmoud who went over and beyond for my family every time he saw us and really did make our stay more than amazing.
