We stayed here recently and had a fantastic experience. The staff in particular Mahesh were so attentive and polite - couldn’t do enough for you. The hotel is clean, spacious and so relaxing. Pool is excellent. Chef kumara cooks lovely food and I would highly recommend the Srilankan breakfast. I will be recommending this place to everyone. Please stay here 😀😀😀

We stayed here in May 2024 We were fortunate that is wasn’t busy so we had the resort to ourselves which was nice The hotel is very secluded, fantastic food and service. Nice rooms , very friendly staff who were very attentive to us . There is no wi fi in the rooms ( only in the main areas ) and the tv had no reception ( maybe due to the bad weather , we didn’t worry about it too much . The pool is clean and refreshing Overall the hotel was great 😊 We did a boat trip amongst the mangroves which was a high light ( only a 5 min walk from hotel) And organised by the hotel .

Excellent traditional food using local fresh produce… Nothing is too much trouble for Chef Kumar. Staff including Manager Mahesh Perera are very efficient and friendly. Resort is set in a secluded jungle setting with clean spacious rooms. Would recommend.

Amazing location set in the jungle. You feel like you are in your own piece of the jungle when you sit on your deck and the jungle surrounds you listening to the sounds of the birds and monkeys. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and have everything you need for the short period you are in your room.

Excellent place to unwind and relax. Long way in from the main road but well worth it. Suggestion would be to improve the food offering specifically vegetarian food. Should be great for a longer stay if the food was great as no other place to eat. Best wishes to the staff and management.

A luxurious getaway into the wilderness. An exquisite hotel situated near Puttalam Lagoon. The property exudes a captivating charm and it is well maintained. Although the rooms need more cleaning and maintenance. The main highlight is the exceptional staff of this hotel. Unwavering in their commitment to fulfilling our every need, provided us the best service. Special thanks to them. The foods were exceptionally delicious and beautifully prepared by the young chefs. We went a jeep safari in Wilpattua, a serene boat ride across the Puttalam Lagoon, and an enchanting Loris Night tour deep into the jungle. There was a 360° view of the area that was breathtaking. I truly cherish the memories I made on this vacation to embark on a lavish wilderness.

Overall Rating : 4/5 Overall, the visit to Cloud 9 Resort Puttalam was great and would certainly revisit. However, I do hope the management take the following review comments and make the next visit a 5/5, because they had got everything almost perfect but had some small issues that needed to be fixed. Location: 4/5 This place is a beautiful place that is nestled right in the forest. It has the atmosphere of being in forest and it was something that was really nice. The only point that kind of upset this amazing feel was that some maintenance work on the satellite tv had been done and it seems like the people who had done the work had just left behind their junk. Please make sure that these are cleaned properly and do have a check around before a guest comes. In our case there was the old satellite dish, some cut off wires and some plastic bags that had been strewn around. If it wasn’t for this, the ambiance would have been perfect. They also have a crows nest type of viewing platform where you can have a perfect 360 view of the area around and on a clear night or evening you should probably have some awesome view and it would make a great opportunity for some amazing pictures (sadly it was raining and overcast the whole time for us). They also have a lot of activities that you can enjoy. However, because of the weather and our schedule we didn’t get a chance to try them out. But would definitely recommend trying them out too if you can work it in to your schedule. The parking was the only hassle. They do have ample parking but we were not close to the entrance. We also drove off during the day on two days and we didn’t get a good spot close to the entrance when we got back, and on the first night, some of the other guests had parked poorly, making it very tricky for me to park that night, and to take the car out the next day morning too. I would encourage to have someone from the staff to come and check on the guests parking and direct them to park properly or move to a different spot if how they had parked in a way that blocked the driveway. Food: 4/5 The food was well prepared and the chef Nuwan was really great and accommodating. Because of the small size of the place with only 10 rooms, they don’t have a buffet, so that is something to keep in mind. However their set menu are pretty good and we were able to have a different meal on each day. The food was filling even though the range was a little limited. Would be great if there were a few more options. Also one point to improve would be with the vegetarian items. Please have a little more variety available for vegetarian dishes. I would suggest some mushroom or soya dishes since they can be combined with a lot of meals. However, overall the food was always good and we were never hungry or disappointed with what we had to eat. Very nice hotel, friendly staff, good accommodation. They know how to let you feel welcome. A warm experience I can recommend. The hotel is situated in nature and is a very quiet place. Nice and big rooms, with a balcony and view at the nature.

Our second time back at this special place - we absolutely love Cloud 9. From our room, the bathroom and the dining area - it was clean, airy and spacious. The food was lovely! The staff is kind, knowledgeable, accommodating and really easy to get along with. The place truly feels like a home away from home because of their thoughtfulness.
