I recently stayed in the glamping tents at Herston Campsite for a Hike2Heal trip organised by a charity. I could not fault the campsite. It was set in a lovely rural location with the sounds of nature - sea waves and steam railway and birds. Each tent was provided with logs and kindling for the chilly nights to toast marshmallows round the fire pits, I thought this was a lovely touch. Beds were comfortable and showers were showers!! The site was very clean and the burger van on site provided tea / coffee / meals and snacks was top notch and well priced. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you xx

We went as a large group for two nights as we were doing a coastal hike and stayed in bell tents it was absolutely wonderful. The tents were cosy and immaculate with little lamps and beds. The facilities for toilets and showers were spotless and well stocked with toilet roll and hand wash. The food you can order was beautiful and we were so grateful for a hot breakfast and dinner! The fire pits and wood provided were a perfect touch and we have already decided we are returning. Absolutely fantastic experience can’t recommend enough!

We booked the farm house as a group of blokes on a stag weekend. Very easy to book with Martin's help. All the rooms were clean tidy with beds made and towels available for all 8 of us. The outside area was just what we were looking for, including the hottub and firepit. Town is a short walk away and easy to get to with lots of restaurants and bars. It was a shame that the on site club was being re built so no bar on site but will be ready for next year. I will be using this site again very soon as I run a Veterans Camping club.

So we have just returned from a 4 night stay here. We had a lovely time but the site could be so much better. Good points Close to some beautiful places. Nice shower cubicles. Has a bar laundrette and a food truck Friendly staff Well signposted You can walk into swanage but it’s hilly. Building a new bar restaurant swimming pool? Nice and quiet with lovely views. Not so good points 1st impressions as you come into the site very tatty has lots of seasonal pitches that are not well kept so looks a bit like a traveler site in places. Very hilly. The pitch is a good size but fully serviced not too sure? Again could be kept up together better. There is a separate toilet block behind the food truck but is showing its age. A bit like the site really. It’s a good place for a short break but for a week or 2 weeks not for me. If you are after a quiet off the beaten track site then it will be for you but if you are wanting to tour around on public transport then not for you. Probably will not return to this site in its current state unfortunately but for someone else it will be what they want.

We first visited the Herston campsite about 10 years ago and had a caravan there for our rather large family - 5-7 children, 5 adults and 2 dogs. The staff there are very friendly and helpful and we loved the area in scenic Dorset. The site is a 20 minute walk from Swanage’s 3 lovely beaches. The National Trust’s beautiful Studland Beach is a short drive away and then there’s England’s own Riviera Poole just over the estuary of course ! After our first holiday there we looked at the log cabins on the site which are great but we fell in love with the Farmhouse with its large garden and family hot-tub and have been going there every year since ! It’s our favourite holiday in England and it could easily become yours too !

What great place not our first visit also won’t be our last staff very friendly great facilities and very clean considering the amount of rain we’ve had really like the family shower rooms plenty of space as I’m disabled plenty of hot water. I don’t think you could ask for anything more especially for the price they charge per night, we were at the very top of spear point so we had quite nice views over the hills and thinking we was on the corner we thought it might have been noisy but has been very quiet. Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to come to this area. A great Base for Swanage and Corfe Castle surrounding areas Thanks, Herston Yard

Had a great time as usual, been going for a while and it is in a really great location as it is very easy to get into the swanage centre. Rain or shine, it is always a lovely time. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Overall it is just amazing.
