Just back from a 3 night / 4 day break and can't really fault the hotel or resort. Booked punta prima as wanted very quick transfer given it was a short break. Didn't pay for private transfer but dropped lucky - just me and my daughter, both ways. First and foremost all the staff were super friendly, helpful and made you feel welcome. It is also very clean. We were allocated a room in the rear block. Positives of the room were great air-conditioning, large bathroom / good shower, plenty of storage, clean and no noise at night. The pool offers lots of shade as set in lush gardens, this was much needed in August. Plenty of loungers, lovely pool, pool bar with drinks / snacks. Also free mini golf, and pool tables. Friday night a female singer performed and was very entertaining and well received. Food was really good - always plenty of hot options, salads, desserts, etc. Well presented and replenished, with AC indoor seating or Al fresco, and again fab waiting staff. Excellent breakfast too - for a 3* the food was great. PP is small and flat. 100m from the hotel door is the beach and first of several restaurants and supermarkets. The beach has loungers, is kept clean, has amenities and SUP / kayak rental. Xaloc also lend parasols for you to use if you don't want to rent loungers. The whole resort has a chilled and relaxed vibe. A few well priced bars, restaurants, supermarkets and a pharmacy. Also a night market on a couple of evenings. The mintrain runs to Binibeca, which is pretty and worth visiting for half a day. Didn't visit Mahon as been previously and it was very hot, but there's a regular bus service and taxi rank. Overall this is a great 3* hotel with superb staff. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone, but especially for short breaks or those requiring a flat, accessible resort. Would return.

We have just returned from a 2 week break to the Xaloc Playa Hotel. We had a sea view room as requested and hired a fridge which was in our room on arrival. Found all staff pleasant and friendly. Room was cleaned daily and shower was powerful. Nice pool area but sun beds need replacing. Food was what we expected from a 3 star hotel, basic but edible. The hot offering at breakfast was often only luke warm and this is something that could be easily rectified if an investment was made in better hot plates, over head heaters. Evening entertainment ( 3 nights a week) was a bit hit and miss! Velvet Blue and the Elton John tribute guy were the 2 most enjoyable in our opinion. I would advise that you take a travel kettle if you like a morning cuppa or coffee before the restaurant opens. Punta Prima is small but has a lovely beach and several nice restaurants. The cafe Royal does lovely food and a good Cava Sangria! The bus to Mahon is quick and cheap. A taxi costs between 18/20 euros. Not sure if we will return but possibly would if we wanted a short break not far from the airport.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed was slightly on the firm side. Air con was efficient. We had a room at the back of the complex which was nice. Room was cleaned daily, shower was very good. There were no issues with getting a sun bed around the pool with parasol, pool was heated and pleasant. Despite being school holidays it was not busy with too many children and those there were well behaved. The food was very good and varied, it's 3 star but I thought good for that rating. We were half board, a bottle of wine was a reasonable price. They did food at lunch time in the bar which was good. The beach was just across the road and was sandy and pleasant. The hotel has parasols for use on the beach in the bottom of a stairwell near the pool. This is a good hotel for a quiet and relaxing holiday, there is not much at the resort other than a beach and a few restaurants. It was only 15 minutes or so from the airport, so was good for us. We arrived around midday and the room was ready with the fridge we had ordered on line prior to arrival. I would recommend a fridge (7 euros per day). One of our group had left an ipad in the room on check out and the receptionist called me on the phone to let me know while we were waiting for the taxi to the airport (Thank you). There was a singer on one night. I think they have entertainment a few nights a week. There was a shower available for use after check out if required but needs booking. Overall very good and I would return.

A lovely, friendly hotel. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful when asked for help. The cleanliness was excellent. We always managed to find enough sun loungers and the pool was great and never too busy. I am not a foodie and so was happy with the food but I suppose some guests may have higher expectations - remember this is a 3 star hotel. The hotel has parasols to use on the beach - just ask at reception. The shower in our room was excellent and the air conditioning was cool enough but without it feeling cold at night. Previous reviewers have said about the mosquitoes and so I took loads of repellant, after-bite and the bracelets - didn't experience any problems and so didn't need them but perhaps it depends on the time of year. Thank you Hotel Xaloc Playa for a lovely holiday.

We arrived at hotel late and missed dinner, we were on half board basis, and the hotel had left a cold salad and fruit and water. Very good but at 2am we were very tired more than anything. On being shown to our rooms it was very basic but clean and boy did we need the air conditioning as it was so warm. No fridge in room which did surprise us as it was a hot country and I think they should have provided a small fridge. However you could hire a fridge at 7 euros a day. Next day we checked out location with beach just across road which was perfect. We had a low floor room overlooking the pool perfect for anyone with mobility issues. Bar and restaurant right next door from our rooms. Pool was lovely plus you could play pool in the grounds also a bit of mini golf. All the staff were very friendly and were always willing to help with any issues. My feet swelled with the heat so extra pillows were brought to my room so I can lay with my feet up when I lay down or go to bed. The tv in room only had news channels which were in English rest of channels were all foreign. It was a small tv as well on the wall. Breakfast and dinner was excellent and on or first visit to restaurant Fearan the restaurant manager reserved us a table for the whole two weeks we were there. There were great choices for both breakfast and dinner. You could hire a mobility scooter but a days notice is needed from reception. Car hire is a minimum of three days hire again a days notice needed with reception. Evening entertainment was a bit of a letdown. Just one act staged in the pool area for only an hour from 9.30 three nights a week but our 2nd week entertainment was just for 2 nights. There was nothing else to do in the evenings we got very bored and everything was shut by 11pm so a very quiet resort. There were shops and restaurants nearby just 2mins from hotel but being on half board we had already eaten. There were no bars outside just restaurants. Bus stop right outside just round the corner. The bus gets busy on the 10.30am bus. Standing room only to go to Mahon market which was Tuesdays and Saturdays. Overall being someone who likes a bit of nightlife and is a tv addict I don’t think it suits me but it is a lovely resort for just chilling on beach or by the pool in daytime with an early night ready for the next day sunbathing and chilling. Also take plenty of mosquito repellent. We had a plug in for the room but sitting in lounge most evenings I was bitten so much so also take after bite with you.

Location is fantastic! Just 2 min away from the beach and restaurants. Also the bus stop is just around the corner of the hotel (route 92 will take you to Mahon in 25 min and only for 1.80 Euros) The staff were great! Fermin in the restaurant and the cleaners were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very good size and comfy bed, with sea beautiful views ! The sunrise was stunning! It would have been great to have a small fridge in the room, considering temperatures were mid-thirties, it would have been great to have space to keep the water bottles cold.

Wow what a find. A late deal to this hotel but gosh did we land on our feet! The position is unbeatable. Just cross a quiet road to a blue flag gorgeous beach. The hotel staff are so helpful and friendly. Big shout out to Natasha and Charlie. It's spotless . Rooms are small but perfectly adequate. Shower is amazing powerful and hot. We had a poolside room with a terrace which was brilliant. Prices in the hotel are very reasonable. Cheaper that the town . Breakfast was excellent . Always plenty and a good choice. We were half board and found the evening meal ok as well. Its worth going into the dinning room slightly later than opening as then you can get a table on the outside terrace which is lovely and cool with a view of the sea. We had entertainment every other day which was better than many other more expensive places we have stayed. Will we return .. YES!
