I expected more from a hostel of a franchise. El Viajero Brava Beach is a perfect place for those who wanna visit all the surroundings of PDE, cause it's just a 5min walk far from the bus terminal. It's also near the monument La Mano, but it's about a 40 minutes walk to downtown/port area. About the staff: minimally polite, but not helpful. The girls at the reception never answered my questions with more than a "Yes/No". I had a reservation, but my bed wasn't avaiable when i arrived, and i had to wait more than 4hours because the other guest was sleeping!!!!! Bedrooms are large, but never clean. I can say, in all over the hostel cleaning was bad. Bathrooms were large, but also dirty. Breakfast was ok, nothing exceptional. Common areas are great, the decoration too! And it's a noisy place. If you want some party, this is a good place for you. If you wanna sleep - even at night - it's not always possible. The price is high for an uruguayan hostel, but low for an accomodation in PDE. So, for this value, it's just 'ok'. I would say, as a franchise, El Viajero disappointed me. Generally, their hostels are just reasonable.
