Hotel Altamadores

Me and my wife went to the altamadores for the second time and its still a fantastic resort ..its a reasonably small apartment hotel but would fully recommend it as a great relaxing hotel with everything you need . The food is great and the serve yourself drinks bar is such a easy option with a great selection of local spirit ,wine and beer...the resort of amadores is beautiful and with a stunning beach which you can see as the terrace looks over the resort...staff are friendly and the manager was very helpful with a minor problem with our room and moved us to a much better one....the atmosphere of this resort and the the friendliness of the guests and staff will keep me going back as soon as we can ...it may be a 3 star but it feels so much more
Servatur Terrazamar Sun Suite
4.2/577 Reviews
Stayed here for 4 nights, 22.10.24 - 26.10.24. I've stayed at these apartments a couple of times before about 10 years ago, both in Sun Suites and the Terrazamar section. This time, I booked a room in Terrezamar, which is the lower section and was allocated room 207. Rooms remain a good size and whilst the kitchen cupboards and bathroom unit are the original units the furniture, beds, dinning table are all new and modern, with AC and digital safe provided at no extra cost. All balconies are a great size with modern patio furniture including two full size sunloungers, which is good as you get the sun all day at these apartments due to location, so if you fancy a quiet day you can still chill in your own apartment and not miss a minute of sunshine. Housekeeping is provided every other day and the lady who looked after our room was great, she was very friendly and when we came back to our room to find it flooded as the boiler had burst she wasted no time in sorting everything out and got maintenance straight to the room who replaced the boiler. We would see her most mornings as she started work on level 2 and she would ask us if everything was still OK, so we'd tell her ”no piscina today” which got a thumbs up reply. I didn't get her name, but she is definitely an asset to the hotel. The pool bar is fine, with reasonable prices for food and drink. Our return flight was a late one, so we managed to keep our room on for €30. The hotel is in a good location with the commercial centre with all the bars and restaurants, literally a stones throw away, which could be seen and heard from our apartment. Noise didn't bother us as we were out late most nights anyway, but if you closed your patio door, you could not hear anything, and if you're staying on a higher level, it's unlikely you'll hear anything. As mentioned I've stayed here before and probably wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting Puerto Rico again.
Marina Suites Gran Canaria
4.5/573 Reviews
Just returned home from a great holiday at the Marina suites, can not fault these apartments, they were spotlessly clean well equipped and a large and comfy bed. The view from the large balcony was fantastic, looking over the marina and out to sea. We were self catering so never ate in the hotel. The pool area had plenty of sunbeds and there is an adult only area with 2 jacuzzis in. The location is great ,no steps to climb and plenty of restaurants and bars a short walk away. Would definitely recommend these apartments you won't be disappointed.
Aparthotel Maracaibo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and we are planning to go back next year. We had one week and its lovely, the rooms are big and clean, we had an apartment, with a separate bedroom, bathroom ,kitchen etc, and obviously a balcony. The staff are all wonderful friendly and helpful, and will do anything to help. A couple of issues we did have, you should be able to check in at 12-00pm, we arrived at 12-30pm but had to sit in reception for an hour ad a half as ”your room is not ready” and ”the maid wont be back for an hour or so” we waited nearly two hours before being given another room, which was ready, they gave us a bottle of wine for our troubles. The lady on reception was not nice, very blunt and not at all sorry or bothered about us sitting around for two hours, we met her again, and she had improved, so maybe she was having a bad day? The pool is big and warm, there is a no towel on sunbed policy, which is adhered to, so you dont have to rush down and put anything on a bed to save it, people still did, mainly brits, but northeneners, so you have to expect that. If people put towels on and disappear, speak to the lifeguard and he or she will remove them. A couple of problems with the pool, one being the smokers, there is a no smoking / vaping policy, but its not really enforced, so again the northerners smoke and vape around the pool, not caring about anyone else, one of the lifeguards did ask a couple of people to move outside the pool area, but it needs enforcing more strongly. The other problem is below. The bar and restaurant is great, again with friendly helpful staff and good food and drink. The beach is about a 6 minute walk away, down a few steps, (100) but once there its a lovely beach, with shops and restaurants all around. All in all a great hotel with good food and drink and lovely staff. A WORD OF WARNING ABOUT THE POOL, THEY HAVE REMOVED THE HANDRAILS ON THE STEPS, BUT LEFT THE FIXINGS IN THE GROUND UNDERWATER, IF YOU TREAD ON THESE AND YOU WILL WISH YOU HADNT, BE CAREFUL, ITS AT BOTH ENDS TOO.ONE DAY THE NUTS HADBEEN REMOVED, LEAVING RAZOR SHARP STUDS ON THE POOL FLOOR,I PUT THE NUTS BACK ON AS TIGHT AS I COULD,BUT IT NEEDS FIXING SOON.
Servatur Hartaguna - Adults Only

For a studio apartment the room is really spacious with a decent bathroom and a good balcony offering lovely views over Puerto Rico and the sea. Rooms very clean and well looked after by the staff. You get a list of days room will be cleaned and towels changed so make sure to read this. Air con is just OK for me - I didn't think it was working at 100% but guy on reception dealt with my issue without any fuss. Staff everywhere are friendly and good at their jobs. Beds are two singles pushed together (as often they are). Room is well equipped if you want to cook for yourself and shower was lovely. We were on floor 3 just below pool level. No issues with noise and steps up right outside our room. Pool area is big enough and has great views. We had breakfast there on one day which Ibfelt was overpriced compared to the town for what you get but it saves you a walk/taxi. Happy hour from 12-1 with 2 for 1 drinks is a great touch and very popular. You arr high up but not as high as some. Walk down to commercial centre and/or beach is not particularly daunting and there a number of different routes. We found the best to be left around one bend of the road then down two sets of steps and you are at the back of the PR shopping centre. You can ise the lft in the montebello across the road (actually split lifts, first down to pool level on floor 5 and then 2nd around the corner takes you down a bit of the way but still a bit to go. You can also just follow the road down the bus station or turn right after first set of steps and get to station as well which is a quicker way to the beach. Taxis are plentiful and cheap - takes about 3 mins to taxi from centre to hotel for between 3.85 and 5 depending on time of day/night and whether you tip. For fitness enthisiasts the steps and winding roads are great. You can also run/walk out to playa des amadoes from PR harbour along a very pleasant coastal walk.
