R2 Bahia Kontiki

Having not long returned from here, in future I will not be staying anywhere else. What a stunning view from the chill out area. No sunbed wars. Place is well kept, maintained and clean. Staff are very friendly. If no mobility issues, cardiac hill is no problem. By far the best place I have stayed.

This is our 4th family holiday to PDC and 3rd stay at R2 Bahia Kontiki and as title says I can't recommend this place enough. We were staying in 3 apartments (6 adults 1 teenager) and had asked in advance to have pool apartments and 1 on the ground floor due to access needs, and as usual the hotel didn't hesitate in arranging this including "welcome back" cards and chilled wine in each one (great start). Then from day 1 to day 7 it continued to never dissapoint, we love everything about the place from the modern look of the hotel and immaculate fresh and modern rooms (all fully air conditioned) to the immaculate pool areas and Instagramable/love island type terraces and sun beds. It was our mothers 69th birthday whilst away, we came back to her apartment with a card, cake and bottle of wine laid on the table for her, yet another small little suprise that just leaves us continuing to want to come back each and every time. Thank you again for a perfect stay ❤️

We arrived late and were met with the receptionist who performed check in with ease, she even managed to locate the taxi we travelled from the airport in to recover the purse that was left behind, first impressions, brilliant. The hotel is on a hill, if you have any mobility issues you need to factor that into your accommodation selection, it is possible to approach the reception from alternative routes, but it’s a trek. You can also opt for the stairs which can be accessed from 2 gates on the way up the hill. But stairs don’t really help if you don’t move freely. The rooms are clean and well proportioned, everything you could need by means of food and drinks is available from cups and plates, to fridge, microwave, electric hob, kettle, coffee machine and toaster. Rooms are cleaned everyday with to§well being replaced every 2nd day. The pool, spotlessly clean, staff do a brilliant job each day preparing it for the days activities. The negative is the inconsistent ‘reserve’ a sun bed option. Some days towels placed on beds were removed by the pool staff, other days they weren’t. All that leads to is the “new” person on the bed being blamed for removing the towels! Set the policy and stick to it. On some occasions beds were reserved 4hrs before they were occupied! Sun beds are available at 2 other locations, but the pool is the obvious location everyone wants. If the towel goes on the bed at least one person needs to sit on the bed. People placing towels with no immediate need isn’t fair. Check out, the only negative experience but disappointing. We enquired when we arrived because we knew we would need a late checkout. “Shouldn’t be a problem” just visit reception 48 to 24hrs before departure. We did, 48hrs in advance. “Check 24hrs in advance”-, we did “ you need the room, we need the room as we are full, but check at 830am on the day of departure”. We did, “no rooms are available” 3 travellers now have 3 x 30min slots to use the washing facilities in readiness for departure. I will watch what happens to our rooms prior to departing the hotel. Would I recommend this hotel, yes I would, the positives outweigh the negatives and a few quick wins, would resolve them, we are considering a return visit later in the year. I don’t expect the hill to be resolved but advance warning of unavailability of check out expression and sun bed blocking can be.

Myself and my friends are just home from a 3 night stay and were absolutely delighted with our apartments. Everything was so clean and fresh. We found all the staff friendly and courteous, nothing was too much trouble. We hadn't booked breakfast but did have some lovely dishes throughout our stay, again very pleased with all. Sun loungers were quite busy but we got at least couple of each day of bathing before moving on to the main ***** which is a mere walk down the hill. Given how close it is you might think it would be noisy but it really wasn't. It's so convenient to everything, with a supermarket directly across the road. If you find the hill too daunting you can take the scenic route, out the front door and the first left will take you for a walk around a less steep street to the *****. Honestly, I was so impressed that I booked it again soon as I got home for myself and my husband for a little birthday get away in March, and I cannot wait!!

This hotel was lovely and we very much enjoyed our stay. Everyone was nice and we had the perfect time. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was massive with a nice big terrace! Room number 1120! They even left my friend a some cake and a bottle of champagne on his birthday! They really did try to go the extra mile. The pool was beautiful and a good temperature. Well done to all the lovely ladies on reception as well as all the cleaning and service staff.

The hotel was fantastic, very clean and staff were so friendly! The food we ate was delicious! Anyone trying to reserve a sunbeds and not showing up towels were removed the pool was so clean! We had a brilliant apartment everything you needed
