The hotel is dated in parts and our room was a little tired although it was a superior room we overlooked wasteland and nort a sunny sea view we expected. However, the room was clean and the public areas spacious The staff were friendly and reception efficient

Lovely hotel. Great food and service very good. Entertainment varied and was ok however ended a little too early. Great value for all inclusive. Great for a couples/family relaxing holiday. Free shuttle bus to Puerto del Carmen that we used once.

We visited as a family with 2 rooms. They were nice though could have been cleaner with dust in corners and under units. The air con was very basic it was either on or off with no temeperature control just 3 fan speeds. The bathroom was nice with a powerful rainfall shower option. Safe costs extra and kettles can be hired for a deposit. They did give us a bottle of cava in our room for my birthday which was kind and very appreciated. The location was okay for us as we could manage the walk to the marina however for those less mobile the hill is a bit steep. Also a walk to Puerto Del Carmen is manageble with sensible footwear but not pram friendly. The views from the hotel are lovely on a nice day. There are 3 good size pools with varying depths for different ability swimmers. Toddlers pool was good for our young children. They have a good kids club aswell in the day and the animation team are all lovely. They have a kids disco but it's at 9.15pm it's too late for young kids at that time for us, it only lasts 15minutes and it's the same every night. One of the restaurants is closed for refurbishment which we were aware of but our booking operator said there were still 2 open but there wasn't. It looked like one was reserved for meetings or weddings. Normally in 4* AI resorts you have at least one a la carte visit to a restaurant but this wasn't an option here. This led to the food being very repetitive and boring, sometimes the fresh hot food was only lukewarm. There are 2 pool bars but no cocktail menu on display only the ready mixed cocktail of the day. When I asked for a pina cocktail I was told I couldn't have it. Some of the waiting staff were lovely and greeted us kindly but I'd say 60% of them were miserable as sin and could barely force a smile. They do seem to treat the prestige guests with more courtesy. This seems to be an issue in some other places we visited aswell though it may be a general attitude on the Island. Also we felt like some of the clientele looked at us like dirt if our 8 month old baby dared to make a noise....side note if you don't like children choose an adults only resort. The gym has very limited and in some cases damaged equipment. But was okay as a put me on. Would we visit again....as a family I'd say probably not which is a shame. As a solo or couple then I'd probably go for a short break. Shouldn't really comment on the spa as we didn't visit but the water looked a bit grimey and was a bit whiffy when I walked past to use the gym.

We have just had a week at Hotel Costa calero and from start to finish it has been brilliant - the welcome, the room, the food and I have fussy gluten free needs , the gym, the spa, the entertainment team, and the hard working team who keep the place spotlessly clean especially during renovations it’s been a great first time at this beautiful resort and we will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely holiday Team Hotel Costa Calero you have had two very happy guests. X

Couple ages 62/56. One week all inclusive+ January 2024. First visit to this hotel, which was recommended by our travel agent. Weather here in January can be varied. We had 17-22 degrees during our week, with some cloud some days. Hotel does some things very very well, but could improve on some things. Check in was quick and we were pleasantly surprised when we were told our room had been upgraded to a suite. The entrance is very large and grand, but as it sits on a hill, reception is on the third floor. Once you get the layout worked out, navigating around the hotel is reasonably easy. Our suite consisted of a living room with tv ( massive), bedroom (massive) with TV and bed (both massive). A walk-in wardrobe off the living area and a spa bath with shower in the bathroom . Mini bar with beer, wine and soft drinks and spirits all topped up daily. All very clean and functional, but silly things like 1980s sliding doors and blackout curtains that jam just before they fully block the sunlight just take the shine off. All inclusive+, gets a few benefits. Exclusive lounge, area in restaurant, 1 visit to a la carte and a very impressive selection of wine and spirits and mixers. Very unusual to get fever tree tonic on all inclusive. The buffet food for us was the biggest let down. Food choices were what most buffets supply, but only just warm. Standing waiting for fresh supplies coming out is not how I want to spend meal times. The wine however was superb. Our night at the a La carte wasn't much better. Food a little warmer, but not a great choice. The prestige lounge was excellent. All the drinks you could ever want, plus sandwiches and snacks. Even a PlayStation and some PCs. To sum up, room..good. sleep quality..good. drinks .. very good. Entertainment... good. Food..poor. Spa...good. And , if you can afford it, go prestige..... You won't regret it if you enjoy a drink.

We have just returned from a lovely holiday at the Costa Colero Thalasso & Spa. Firstly this hotel is simply beautiful, the grounds are so well maintained and the flowers, palm trees and gardens are just stunning. Upon our delayed arrival from Manchester, we were greeted with 2 lovely people on reception, who quickly checked us in and even provided us with a bag of food as the restaurant was now closed. Upon entering our gorgeous spacious room (Sea view room 255) we were met with a lovely view of 1 of the pools and the sea beyond, the rooms were spotlessly clean and had everything you need (no it doesnt have a kettle or iron but i dont go on holiday to make my own tea or do my ironing, if you need this to make your holiday a happy one, I suggest packing your own or i believe you can hirer them). We stayed for 10 nights, my husband & our 3 year old daughter and my 2 parents (in their 70's). The food for the duration of our stay was wonderful, a very good choice at breakfast, lunch & dinner with show cooking at all 3 meals. The reviews that state no choice when you have at least 4 choices of potatoes alone astounds me but as they say you cant please everyone. Yes like all "All inclusive" it all gets a bit samey after a week but i would say if you are very fussy and hard to please then go B&B and eat at your chosen restaurant. There are some lovely restaurants on the Marina, we ate at Bollywood and had a fabulous Indian and also at Finnegans which was fantastic, just to see a little of the place really. The only very small negative (and this is purely for us a family with a small child) is they dont really cater for children, the food they do but the evening meal was at 7pm which is a little late for our little one, she got used to it, also the entertainment, the mini disco was at 9.15 which also is a bit too late but that's only our preference. We met some lovely fellow guests which just made our holiday even better. So to wrap up, this a fabulous hotel, lovely food, wonderful staff in a beautiful location, we will definitely return.

Well I am only half way through a weeks stay here and think I can safely award this Hotel 5 stars! This is my first stay at Hotel Costa Calero and the place is pretty much perfect! I have only ever stopped at either Peurto del Carmen or Playa Blanca before, so I was a little apprehensive then wouldn’t be enough to do in Puero Calero, as it is a lot smaller compared to the other two resorts but I needn’t have worried. It’s only a five minute walk to the harbour where you can find excursions, submarine trips, dune buggy hire etc so there is enough going on for a weeks stay, but there is so much going on at the hotel you probably don’t need to leave. There is also free shuttle bus that runs 3 times a day to take you to Puerto Del Carmen if you want a change of scenery or you could walk along the coastline which takes about 45 mins. The hotel itself is spacious and cleverly laid out with at least five different swimming pools. As usual, there are activities during the day and entertainment at night. Now I went when the renovations were ongoing so we had to use the buffet style restaurant. I thought the food was excellent with plenty of choice and no problem getting a seat. I struggle to see why so many reviewers are critical of the buffet style - perhaps they are comparing it to previous years but I have no such frame of reference. It is your typical buffet style experience but it seems well organised and not the usual cattle market I have come to expect. Because the restaurant is kind of open plan, inevitably you get some brave little birds daring to pinch some scraps of food, but everything is covered up and there are even electronic bird scarers set up to deter them. Rooms are lovely, spacious & clean, grounds beautifully maintained, and staff hard working. It was our anniversary and a bottle of plonk + a small box of chocolates was left for us - thank you. Now we went half board (breakfast & evening meal included) and it feels as everyone else was all inclusive? I’m sure we were the only ones having to actually pay for a drink in the evening!? (Actually there was a couple of occasions the staff didn’t charge me I presume because they just assumed I was half bored as nearly everybody was?!) I have a love/hate relationship with all inclusive: yes it’s lovely to walk to the bar and get unlimited drinks and ice creams during the day, but it feels like it ties me to the resort, meals become very samey and I’m reluctant to take advantage of the lovely little bars and restaurants that I see because I’ve got unlimited food & drink back at the hotel. But the good news is you can upgrade while you’re there at just €25 per person per day. So if you’re undecided what board basis to go I would recommend going half board (when we booked online it only cost us an additional £40 in total when upgrading from B&B to half board for a week) and you can always upgrade when you get there. The only stipulation is you can’t just do it for the occasional day here and

I am sat writing this by the pool on my last day of a weeks holiday. We usually as a family come here most years and have already booked to come for 2 weeks next June. This year I came on my own for a week of relaxation. Saying AI prestige. As previously reviews have commented I was advised of the refurbishment works going on (although we were told last September when we were here. ) so I fully knew what to expect. Upon arrival check in was quick & efficient you could tell the hotel was not at capacity as my room was ready. Room was a superior double with sea view, amazing view from the balcony and the biggest bed I’ve seen and was super comfy. The room was spotlessly clean and had a shower over the bath which I had requested. Food was as varied as it always has been. Breakfast & dinner choices were what you used to get in the main restaurant it was just not doubled like it used to be (fresh cooked meats both sides of the main restaurant). Yes the food wasn’t as hot as is usually is but this is due to it being in the outside, the staff in an evening really do make an effort to make it as much of an evening meal as the can do. My daughter is fussy but always manages to find something to eat and would have done this time if she had been with me I honestly don’t see what the problem is with the food that people moan about. In the week I was there I only saw a few little birds in the dining area at lunchtime I never encountered any at any other time. Entertainment staff work so hard and you don’t feel pressured to join in and are all so pleasant to chat too. And enjoyed playing bingo everyday still not won in the last 4yrs. Spa was as lovely as previous years it was nice to go anytime this year not having my daughter with me, really enjoyed going for 40/50mins each morning. Prestige lounge was extremely quiet towards the beginning of my week I’d pop in there after dinner and would be the only one in there it was nice to sit people watching/reading my book, it was also lovely to see absolute vodka in there as this my fav drink and usually isn’t in there, again the times I went in very clean and tidy. Pool areas were very clean as always saw them cleaning the sun beds and around the sun rad areas on a few mornings, pools though were freezing ok once you had been in a few minutes, but these seemed a lot colder than in September. Personally I think it would be a good idea to move the prestige sun lounger area closer to the pool, every time I walked past maybe just the 1 or 2 persons using it as it currently so far away from the pool, bar & toilets, it seems such a shame it isn’t being utilised. The only negative thing I could mention was the waiter in the prestige area of the restaurant in a morning he was very slow in previous years we must have been spoilt bad fresh orange juice was given to us as soon as we sat down, some mornings I would have to wait upto 10 mins after few days I just used to get it myself, then towards the end of th

I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel enough. Me and my partner checked in and the staff were so polite and kind and explained everything in great detail. However, upon entering our room we immediately returned to reception to ask to change rooms as there was a generator/buzzing sound that we could hear with the doors closed. The reception lady was so nice i wish i could remember her name! (She had curly hair and glasses) She gave us a key to another room to view and gave us the option between the two rooms. After viewing the second room, in this room we could hear a family next door with a baby and a young child. We returned to reception expecting them to not do anything further and say we had the choice of these two rooms only, but they offered us ANOTHER room. The third room was perfect and we were so greatful they were able to allow us to have this option. Being a young couple we had expected to be pushed aside a bit and sort of given what we were given but the lady at reception was beyond understanding. So we settled into the third room and it was impeccably clean. The view was beautiful and the room was lovely. We went for a walk around the pool and it was amazing, it wasn't too busy and everyone was so friendly. I was also pleasantly suprised upon arrival to hear that there was a free bus service into Puerto Del Carmen from the hotel which was so useful! The hotel were also able to call us a taxi which cost around €7 into puerto del carmen. Puerto Calero is a lovely area however, it is a harbour not a beach just to note! Lovely resturants within walking distance and a little shop nearby too. On my partners birthday we returned to a bottle of complimentary champagne and some chocolates too. We really feel that there couldn't have been anything more to ask for. We only had breakfast included in our stay but it was perfect, a great variety and available until 12pm as well. As it came to the end of the week we didn't want to leave at all and if we ever find ourselves in lanzarote again we will of course be staying at Costa Calero. Thank You so much to the staff!
