Great location. Attentive staff. Lovely rooftop pool. Room had a nice balcony. Hotel is spotless and has loads of character. Near the beach and close to bars and restaurants. What's not to like about this small hotel of Irish origin. Weather as always was great. Would highly recommend.

You should be careful what kind of room you choose/get. I ended up in a room with no balcony, the only thing you could see out the window was the walls and a little bit of sky if you looked up high enough. The room was really humid and for example a swimsuit wouldn't dry in there. When I asked for a new room, the service at reception was humiliating, even though I would have been prepared to pay more. Only after two nights did I get a slightly better room. Even the bed in the second room was much better than the first. The food is very modest and there are no windows in the canteen. The rooftop pool is nice and the central location of the hotel slightly compensated for other disappointments,

The hotel was very clean and a perfect location. We had a sunny balcony overlooking Mount Teide. The reception area was so calming and peaceful and even better than the photographs. Nice place to sit outside on the terrace having a drink. Very pleasant pool area with lovely views

Stayed here for two nights, the hotel is traditional Canarian style and has beautiful traditional features. The room we stayed in was not in the part of the old hotel but the room was basic and clean, bed comfortable, very quiet. Breakfast inclusive and good. Staff friendly and helpful. The terrace has traditional music in the evening and nice to stay there for a drink.

Great central location with lots of shops, bars and restaurants all around. Love the colonial entrance and the little rooftop pool. Buffet style food in the dining room was more than adequate but could be improved. Breakfast selection was good but they need more and better coffee/ Tea machines as queues were always long. My room 105 was spotless with a large comfy bed. Bathroom dated but still adequate. Had a fab time at The Maquesa Hotel and will return next year.

We stayed at this hotel for the second time due to it's location. We had a room overlooking the church and square which was an added bonus. We found the staff to be friendly again just like last time. While the food in the restaurant was ok, they still haven't learned how to keep it hot, everything was luke warm at its best. Furthermore, the staff seemed incapable of coping with large numbers with stuff running out and having to ask everytime for dishes to be replenished. The orange juice machine failed twice during our weeks stay. A simple rectification would have been to put a few jugs of the stuff out for guests to help themselves but no, you had to go without. Bread selection was none existent, just one type of bread roll, brown or white. Gravy was supplied for some dishes but not put on a hot plate - it was stone cold. It would be nice if guests could choose to eat outside where non residents ate, as the food and selection there looked nice but resident guests seem to have to put up with the room at the back which lacked any daylight. This hotel scores highly with it's location - everything is within easy reach but alas, it's not the best place to eat if you are staying there half board.

The wifi was pretty bad, making simple tasking like opening a new tab on the browser painful. I had to cancel a couple of meetings due to the connection being so unstable. The room I was in was nothing like the pictures, dark and small while in the pictures it was the opposite. The bathroom door didn't work properly too. At the end of the day, not a bad place, but for the price not worth it.
